Its convenient. My biggest problem with this place is how many customers are walking around without masks since the beginning of the pandemic. Theres no enforcement whatsoever, its like they dont even care. So I try to avoid going here unless I absolutely have to.

Far better selection of fasteners than I have ever seen. This is my new go-to. This is the super size version of your local hardware store that I always needed. It looks like they took a page from Frys Electronics, but getting it just right, not over the top size. Plenty of fast cashiers and helpful people on the floor. This is the helpful friendly store you need, the anti Home Depot, but unlike most smaller hardware stores, the sheer selection is impressive.

When I come in the morning to get what I need for my job, you have the girl at the service desk that doesn’t even look like she’s happy to be there. The lady with short hair at the paint desk is so rude, and the way she talks to the employees is sad. I’m glad I haven’t seeing the other short chubby girl, cause all them 3 at the paint desk doing nothing and when you come and ask for help, looks like you bothered there conversation.

I’m so upset that my spicy Latina cashier no longer works at Johnsons, she was one of your best cashiers always with a great attitude, always with a smile on her face. She knew and welcome customers by there name, the ones you have just hello, hello, no personality at all. This is a great store, great selection on the nuts and bolts section, but now is missing something.

Everytime I go in Im always immediately helped by a friendly associate. Today I was helped by Jesse, realizing I had a ridiculous dream of making an air conditioner out of a 1989 Chevy Astrovan heater core and pond pump. I love coming to this place I can find anything and everything I need, but… my only problem is the lady at the paint desk with short hair she is so rude, I heard the way she was talking to an employee over the weekend, she’s very disrespectful to some employees. I have noticed that she caters to this girl that works at the return desk in the mornings.The other thing on Monday it was busy, I’m guessing because of the holiday. I saw the owner running around like crazy everywhere, answering phones… but why pay this guy to be a manger, If he’s going to stand there and watch everyone else work.Other than that everyone on the floor is very helpful and friendly.

This store is surprisingly large. They are behind the times with the tech though. It is hard to find things and an app would be awesome.

My wife and I were looking for a new Traeger smoker/grill. The first thing I noticed was the full line of Traeger grills, accessories and products on display making it easy to compare size and features. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and used the products themselves. We happen to be a long way out of their delivery zone ( they offer free assembly and delivery within 10 miles of the store) but they gladly assembled and loaded the grill into our truck. It was definitely worth the drive and we will be back.

Scott at the Johnson do it center went above and beyond when my Traeger took a turn for the worse over the 4th of July weekend Scott stepped out to the plate and not only did he help facilitate the correct parts that I needed he walked me through the whole process and even showed me their entire Traeger repair facility I have not seen customer service like this from an employee of a business in many years this is the type of leadership you are looking for I really hope the owners of johnsons take care of my buddy Scott because I sure wish there was more I could do for him

This place is awesome. Has everything you need to create, fix, build, repair, originate or conjure. The most complete hardware store I have ever been to. Not really geared toward heavy construction, but way more items than the big guys.

Very helpful, wise gentlemen, 2. I walked in the front door. Streight to The greetings desk. Told her what I was up to. Shed construction. She instantly picked up a phone, and made a call.The 2 men showed up, I told them I was about to set up a new shed, and need advice on how to build a proper base that would last a long time.As we were walking through the well stocked store, they gave instructions on how, and what to use to build a proper, perminant base. I was in the store today and it was busy, with only 2 cashiers and the one girl running the desk between doing returns and cashiering. I forgot to get something else, I get out of the line and walked by the paint desk to get what I needed. Well you have two girls and this lady standing there chatting away, while cashiers need help. This is not the 1st time that I see this happening. I made couple trips to the store on Saturday 1/16. The two times I went in and on my way to check out cashiers had a line. I was passing the paint desk and the lady calls for back up, well no one came to helped, and the lady and some other girl just chatting at the paint desk. My second visit, same thing cashiers had a line and some other lady checked me out. The lady from the paint desk comes and starts asking the lady checking me out what was she doing, she is a very rude lady. I hope this place is not going to be like Home Depot, so many people standing around or pretending doing something instead of helping customers.

I was there a little bit ago having home keys made, very poor customer service. Two kids a boy and a girl, why having kids working there training on a busy day. Train them some other time.

Clean and well stocked as usual. Employees are friendly and knowledgable. What seems to happen to me in Johnsons is I become sidetracked. Looking at different stuff. I end up forgetting something.

Its a big box hardware store run by a family, at least thats how it seems. If you need hardware theyve got it. They dont have it, chances are nobody else does either. Their staff is very knowledgeable, and are a good source for recommendations as well. Free coffee and popcorn. Generally, IMHO, their tool rental is significantly less pricey than Home Depot. A great resource.Update: I have a extensive chainsaw repair facility. I rented a large garden tiller, it broke a cotter pin. I was only able to use it for three out of the four hours and they knocked off 25% no questions asked. Great service!

I am very upset about my visit to this store. I was trespaset from this store for no other reason than they thought someone i was with earlier in the day had stolen from the store. I questioned my friend and made him empty his pockets after he got in my car. Because I saw the LP being actually quiet aggressive at the store exit. There was absolutely nothing on his person. But thats not the point. This store has punished a person who paid for their items because they thought a person they were with earlier in the day possibly maybe stole something i would strongly recommend not going to this store

We lived in Kent for 20 years and I shopped regularly at McLendon’s in Kent, now that we live in Black Diamond I have shopped several times at Johnson’s. I now often make the trip back to McLendon’s to shop - one for their exceptional customer service and - two for their outstanding selection. I have experienced poor to no Customer Service at Johnson’s and they unquestionably have a poorer selection.

I never write reviews but I have to for this one...I live in the neighboring City and frequently go to Johnsons over Home Depot. The majority of the time the prices are the same or higher than other hardware stores but you can also find really good deals and items that you cant find in other stores.The best thing about Johnsons is a little gem called Amy! She works in the home and garden area and is the best customer service person I have ever met! Not only does she have outstanding customer service skills, she is very knowledgeable in all things gardening. When I thought taking me to the items I asked about and answering a few questions of mine was enough, Amy took it a step further! She explored ideas with me and spent time looking around at different things that might fit well in the garden I described to her. I probably spent a good 35 minutes talking, walking and going over things. Not only that, she did the heavily lifting and saw me all the way to my truck! It was incredible, the skills and generosity she possesses!

I shop here whenever I need hardware, paint, wild birds feeders and food. They have everything for the home and yard. They also have a very large cooler full of old fashioned soda in glass bottles. Really great selection. I find their paint to be wonderful to use and they have colors that match what Im looking for. I have never met any employees that werent super friendly and helpful. A year ago my mom hit a curb in their parking lot and popped her tire. A worker saw the whole thing. As she pulled into a stall he came over and asked if she was alright, he then said do you have a spare? She said yes and he said let me take care of this for you I just need to go tell my boss. His boss brought her some water while the kind worker put a new tires on for her. Great people, great local place to shop.

Not a big place, but a wide selection of varieties of hardware, garden supplies, chain saws, cement, sand, etc. No lumber.

If you need it they have it, great friendly staff. Ask for help and they will get you the info. you need.

By far the most amazing nuts, bolts, screw selection around. If you need one of those, even in odd sizes, they probably have it in stock. Even if you cannot find it, ask one of the helpful employees as you probably missed it. The plumbing section is great too. All the sizes or hoses, valves, pipe, etc. My favorite is that you can get hose and pipe by the foot! The garden area is great too. Doug is the best!

I was there on Thursday shopping for a gift, I found what I needed. When I asked the cashier for a gift receipt, she said no you only have one item it should be good.

Good...no...GREAT old fashioned hardware store. Literally tons of fasteners in their nut and bolt department. Thousands of other useful products. All neatly arranged in logical order. Friendly and persistent help abounds. Best of all....dog friendly...as any great hardware store should be.

Johnsons home and garden is awesome! They always seem to have everything I need to accomplish any small project. They have a great selection, but still have a small store vibe(which I like). Plus they have free popcorn and coffee at the door(like how does it get better than that?)

My favorite hardware store

Always find what I need, the reason for a three star review is employees tying up a small bathroom during a virus outbreak. If you dont want to work, quit, dont tie up a bathroom stall and leave your radio on and force contractors to use the handicap stall, making that unusable to someone with mobility challenges.

Lovely plants

Its been my favorite store for the last 15 years. The staff is awsome, they have always been able to direct me in the right direction either in the store (old and new) or what I need to do on my projects. There has not been a home improvement project that they have not been able to help. I am sad that Im moving out of state. Its the store that I will miss the most.Thank you Johnsons for the years of great service.

Great knowledge and they have a great Stihl dealership. They always have hard to find parts. Their nuts and bolts selection is great. It’s family run and I like the place. Been going here for years.Update 2019 - dropping to 4 stars.The specialty parts section has tremendous selection, prices are high especially for stainless steel. Screws can be .50c a piece. I wanted snaps over $1 a piece. Same ones bulk online $30 for 400 pieces. I got a turn buckle for canvas. One turn buckle - $5.00.It takes money and shelf space and it’s designed for buying a few parts and they do have bulk buys there. Just not stainless.

Wonderful staff. I have a fractured foot so I called the store to see if I could get my item ready for me to pick up so I wouldnt have to walk much. They had the item ready for me at customer service. Thank you very much for your kindness. BTW the 6 in 1 Traeger cooker is great. Thanks again for your help.

Do not buy the lifetime warranty hoses. I purchased a total of 10 within the last 4 years and all have cracked and leak. When I tried to replace a few, since I believed theyd honor the warranty, I was told no, the hoses werent defective.I wasted about $700 on top of the line hoses and got the same usage as the cheapest.

The best service and friendly knowledgeable staff. I always feel welcomed here and they always seem to have exactly what I need. I love this place. I highly recommend them.
