We have been going here for 4 months with our 2 puppies. Have seen Dr. Ashley Austin and Dr. Josalyn Bruce. Both doctors have been knowledgeable and great. Staff has been very helpful and polite. So thankful to have found a great vet office close to home! I definitely recommend this place!

Now, I am not a veterinarian, so admittedly dont understand the nuances of treatment for different animals injuries. However, as a pet owner, Im pretty disturbed by the fact that my cats injured paw was neither bandaged or treated. After speaking with a vet they told me the best course of action was to keep it clean and give him an antibiotic. He still has an open wound. Seems not worth it to me 100+$. I called Another Animal Clinic and they gave me a contact list for emergency hospitals, for free. So...

Thank you so much for Josh & the vet ( I cant remember her name, had a light southern accent I think) who cared for Sheila. It was curb side service for us today which worked out well for me since my 2 year old son was a wild pants. I definitely appreciate them coming out with her meds and taking my payment 😌. Very pleased so far. This was our first visit here with my senior Chihuahua. The tech as well as the doctor answered all my questions and were very nice and helpful. They were gentle with my dog who is very nervous. I found everyone to be polite even though theyre clearly busy.I was able to get answers to questions about my dogs health which turned out to be normal for an aging pup. I was able to learn what behavior was not normal and they recommended appropriate treatment.They did not push any specific treatments and offered alternatives if I balked at anything.They also informed me about a Health Certificate as I mentioned I would be flying my pet. I didnt know about this so I am glad to know about that in advance.I thought the prices were very reasonable.

When I called my vet clinic (which is great), they told me my dog needed to be seen within one or two days given her status, but they didnt have a vet that would be available in that time frame. They told me to try Animal Hospital of Maple Valley. I was lucky enough to get in because of a cancellation the next day. Dr. Ashley saw her, took tests, implemented immediate actions along with take home meds for her in all in about and hour! Dr. Ashley called me at home after closing time to give me lab results, possible causes, and a plan for an x-ray on Monday if she didnt get much better over the weekend. Given how sick she was, I have to say that I think Animal Hospital of Maple Valley saved her life and she is back to the dog I know and love in just a few days. The other staff was great. Thank You!!!

I had a litter of puppies, 5 weeks old. One injured his rear leg. My normal vet was booked out over 2 weeks.A puppies bones are growing in so fast that wasn’t an option.This place got him in next business day.They quoted $55 for the exam and $100 for the xray.There was a hairline fracture, but everything was where it belonged and was healing nicely which put my mind at ease.And the bill came to exactly what they quoted me on the phone. Not a penny more.They were thorough, and answered all my questions. Even trimmed his nails for free.They will be getting all my canine business from here on out.

The staff is so compassionate! Excellent care for your pets and they really do go above and beyond to help you. I brought my 12 year old cat in for a dental cleaning and extractions and she did so well, she was even happier now more than when I first adopted her :) Thank you for all that you do! You truly are exceptional at it !

We took our dog in to be seen by this vet. They were super pushy and rude. We won’t be back.Edited to respond to their response:You literally sent me an email requesting a review. If you didnt want an honest review, maybe you shouldnt ask everyone.You made snide comments like, Well, if youd brought him here in the first place... While this is true, its also obvious, unhelpful, and accusatory. Maybe you think youre pleasant and nice, but I perceived your interactions on the phone with me to be terse, cold, and unfriendly.You recommended and began to work on an estimate for a biopsy. A biopsy only makes sense if you plan to use the information that the biopsy reveals. You didnt ask what wed plan to do with the results. You just tried to push the biopsy as the option. After being terse, unfriendly, and judgmental.We have a vet. We also have a friendly back-up vet. We wanted to get him in quickly and unfortunately neither had an appointment available. After discussion with our normal vet, we have a course of action that makes sense for our family. Because they asked questions, listened, and were friendly and non-judgmental.If you dont want honest reviews, do not request them.

Easy to get an appointment. Responsive to listening to my concerns. Offered options. Professional and caring. The only reason I didnt give 5 star is because there was a fairly lengthy wait, despite having an appointment time. I will definitely be returning.

I have had the same vet for over 15 years and I can never get appointments and the receptionists are always rude. I have been wanting to find another vet clinic but it has been so hard with Covid.A friend of mine told me about this clinic so I called and they were so nice and helpful. I got an appointment with in the week and when I got there everyone was friendly and nice. What an awesome experience. AND it was less expensive then my other vet clinic!!!Thank you so much!!

We were able to make an appointment two days out for Dr. Austin to see our dog. The entire staff was friendly and it is obvious that they love pets and love their jobs.The vet tech asked lots of questions to make sure she fully understood why we were bringing in our pet and what our concerns were. When Dr. Austin came in to see our dog and talk with us, she took the time to fully explain what was going on with our pup and made sure we understood what she was saying. I didnt feel rushed with her, and I felt heard by her. She gave us a few options for treatment and care of our dog.A few days after our appointment, a staff member and Dr. Austin both called to check in to see how our dog was doing. I really appreciated this extra step; it really demonstrates the caring nature of everybody at this practice.I was nervous about finding a new vet, as Ive moved away from the vet office where we took all of my childhood pets. Especially bringing in a dog with a condition I dont know much about, I was scared that I wouldnt find somebody who would take the time to care for my pet properly and help me understand what was going on with her. Immediately upon arrival, these fears were gone. I am so glad that we made our appointment with the Animal Hospital of Maple Valley, because I feel so safe trusting our dog to Dr. Austins care. Im relieved to have found a clinic that gives me all the familiar good vibes as my old vet!

Dr Austen is amazing!First met her when we had three Papillions, when our boy was diagnosed with CHF, she told us we could get his meds at Walmart and Costco.Our only Papillion, who is 14, really only stops shaking when she comes in the room, she trusts her.

Animal Hospital of Maple Valley has earned a new client with plenty of pets. 2 times since this pandemic began I have needed our regular vet twice. Both times I have tried them first and referred elsewhere because they could not make time for an urgent but not emergency situation. 1 call to Animal Hospital of Maple Valley and they went above and beyond to help our pets even though we were not current patients. I appreciate the attention, grace, compassion they have shown our family and our animals. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

As a new patient, they got us in quickly. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I had my two kids with me and they brought them coloring pages and allowed us to walk around outside while waiting. We will definitely go back with our other pets.

We have an aging pet near end of life (who also gets monthly allergy shots.). They are available, prompt, and treat us well. They have given us exceptional service at reasonable prices and have gone above and beyond in many cases. We recommend them highly.

We took my sons cat here after being referred from Enumclaws Country Animal Hospital since they were booked full the entire week and needed urgent assistance. They were so pleasant and accommodating, and took the little fluff in via drop off. They took a bunch of requested tests, treated her, wrote up a prescription and gave a gentle pass-off of her so we could be on our merry (and relieved) way. Thank you MVAH!

I am a huge Dr Austin fan, I followed her to MV Hospital. I won’t let anyone else treat my babies without her backing. Her team is professional and you know they truly care about our fur babies.

We brought our three year old cat in to get checked for a UTI. They got us in right away, were ontime and treated our cat like he was one of their own. He was checked out, treated and on his way home with very little stress. Highly recommend to anyone with fur babies. I had never been to this vet before, however, they accepted my cat on a weekend to be seen in between appointments because she was really sick. They got her in and out within an hour! They were quick, kind, and professional. Hopefully these meds work soon! But I will be returning with my other pets soon for annual checkups! Highly recommend.

The Animal Hospital if Maple Valley is outstanding. The staff is always professional and helpful and the Vets have always been caring, responsive, and provided our pets expert care. We have two French Bulldogs which can be high maintenance and team at AHMV have always accommodated us even on short notice and have never let us down. Very pleased with Dr Austin and AHMV.We initially took our new kitten to another vet in Maple Valley. We were disappointed and changed to AHMV.Good decision. Staff and Dr Austin gave us as much time as we needed to ask Qs over multiple visits. Knowledgeable, detailed and empathetic.That’s all I can ask for.Giving medical care to an animal probably isn’t easy. They can’t talk. So details and communication with pet parents matters.

My dog got bit by another dog and needed to be treated. We were fortunate the Animal Hospital was able to see him right away since our regular vet couldnt take him. He was well taken care of.

We’ve nothing but excellent experiences with Dr Ashley. She’s been amazing to us, remembers us and our dogs and loves the dogs. Recently while needing to get in we were given an appointment date that was the following day. I explained our problem and the front desk talked to the dr. They worked around my hectic schedule and found a great time that day to fit us in between existing appointments. I appreciate them taking the time to hear my concern, consult the Dr and respond right away.

By far the best vet I have ever visited. The Dr. was very attentive and informative. She understood what we were looking for as well as the best interest in our dog. She explained all of our options. She even followed up 2 days later to check in on our Tank!

Please disregard any review more than 7 months old when this business was under prior ownership. Dr. Austin is the new owner of this practice and, as another reviewer stated, she is AMAZING! She is very personable, compassionate and accommodating. She cares about your pet AND your pocketbook, aiming to provide the best care at the best prices. She is honest and informative in her treatment and recommendations. I understand that she has helped those who cannot afford to take their pet to a specialist. She successfully performed a complex, life-saving surgery (removal of bladder stones) on my dog at much less than other vets would have charged (I shopped around for quotes after my regular vet gave me a high quote). When I became concerned on a Friday evening that my dog’s condition had become life threatening, Dr. Austin accommodated my request to move up the surgery date from the scheduled Tuesday to the very next morning which SAVED MY DOG’S LIFE, as her bladder was about to burst from a stone blockage (and likely saved me thousands from what the emergency hospital would have charged). Dr. Austin gave me her cell phone number in case I need to call after hours, and her staff called me a few times over the next week to check on my dog’s recovery. When my dog suddenly developed a tumor on her rectum, I did not hesitate to call Dr. Austin. Her staff got me in for an appointment, and Dr. Austin removed the tumor, that same day! Truly the best service, treatment and prices of any vet I’ve ever been to as a dog owner of 25 years. I will now be bringing my dogs here for all their care.

I had to bring my sisters very sick cat in for her. We had gone to the Wilderness place a couple times, and they were so awful that we could not bring our poor dying cat there again. They took tests, didnt check them, said he was all good, didnt tell us what they tested. Well, the Animal Hospital requested all the paperwork including the tests, and were amazed - there was blood in the urine, protein as well, crystals somewhere else - the cat was obviously in pain and dying. We will never go back to Wilderness again. The vet here at this Hospital has switched over since then, but still the same, attentive, thorough care that we got in the beginning, and about half the cost as Wilderness!! We went home, hydrated our kitty with a bag of water and needle, gave him meds to increase appetite, meds to decrease nausea, meds to fight off the bad stuff, and even a little pain meds. Eventually my sister had to let him go, but at least his final days were better than the month before in that nightmare called Wilderness. This Animal Hospital also took care of the next phase. My sister picked up the ashes in a small and tasteful urn; she even received a thoughtful card that was signed by everyone. It has been a sad time for my sister, but we are so glad we left Wilderness to come here. I will be brining my dog here as well.

They were willing to see our 20 year old cat Mia who needed treatment today! Although they were busy like the others I had called, they let us drop her off and performed an emergency exam between other appointments. They then called us to discuss options for treatment and costs and again when she was ready for pickup. The doctor brought her out to us when we arrived and explained her condition and the blood work results and how to care for her during recovery. We were very pleased and highly recommend this veterinarian.

Update:No one really introduced themselves by name except the kind doctor, so I cant give a shout-out to the kind lady at the front desk for handling my concerns kindly and getting my puppy into an exam room. Once we were inside I felt that the staff treated us exceptionally well. Everyone wore masks, and I think thats why most forgot to introduce themselves, but they were all very friendly nonetheless. Im happy to continue bringing my puppy here and hope to learn more names next time we roll through. Thank you.9-10-20:So far, as a new patient, theyve had me waiting in my car 20 minutes past my appointment time with no updates. Im about to leave.

Even with a fully booked day they were able to squeeze a few minutes in to see our sweet little Lucy. Our 10 pound Yorky/Chin mix had a swollen face (her eye was even closing) that came on suddenly. Their diagnosis was quick and accurate and she was quickly on the mend. So very grateful. Everyone on the phone to in person was friendly and professional.We’ve been looking for a new vet and we found one :-)

I really like this veterinary hospital because they ALL take the time to explain everything about your pet to you and answer any questions you may have as well (in a way you can understand). They pay respect to any patrons pet/s that may have recently passed by lighting a candle in their memory and as anyone coming into the office to please keep a low voice out of respect. They sent a friend of mine a card sending their deepest condolences for her when her dog died). They are all pet lovers and it shoes.I can honestly say what I like best is that money at this veterinary hospital is secondary and your pet comes first. They do all they can to make sure both you and your pet are comfortable first and foremost. I took my two male cats in to get neutered and everyone was extremely helpful, kind and caring from the first phone to drop off and pick up. They were very informative and great with my boys, especially since one is very leary of new people. They were fast and very efficient with the pick up and drop off during this outbreak while still giving excellent care. I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Maple Valley! Thank you to the front office staff, medical assistants and Doctor for taking such good care of my boys.

My 10 year old golden retriever stopped eating and we are really scared but know we are in good hands. They were extremely kind, patient and thorough today, and let us know all costs up front. We opted for more agressive, and therefore, more expensive, treatment but werent pressured into it. We have a lot of experience with end of life decisions with our pets and didnt want to play the stressful, albeit cheaper, waiting game. The Vet tech was wonderful and the Dr. got on the floor and cradled my pups face in her hands during the exam. My daughter was with me and was impressed with the kindness of this clinic. We have been coming here for years and I trust them implicitly.

They were able to get my dog an appointment and they have such a clean environment and they are all friendly and so sweet to my little dog. Im so glad they are close. The Vet was amazing!

I brought my dogs here to be neutered in September and that went well. This week I brought one of them back because he has an injured leg. The vet rambled on and on and on sometimes about my dog other times about unrelated topics. She seemed easily distracted but ordered the ex-rays. My dog had to be sedated for ex-rays and remain there for a couple of hours. No big deal because I just waited in my car. I noticed that the office seems to do a huge volume of conveyor belt patients which was interesting to see. When I returned into the office I, of course, asked to see the ex-rays and review them with the vet. Before we began reviewing the ex-rays she said she had NOT reviewed them because they just get sent to the radiologists office for review and results come back the next day. So, IF MY DOG HAS SOMETHING FRACTURED WE WOULDNT KNOW UNTIL THE NEXT DAY because the vet doesnt care to look at the ex-rays. Guess thats not her job? Then she started rambling on and on about when she fell down her stairs. The day ended with her saying she would call me by end of business the following day with the radiologist results. The following day I called 4 times throughout the day. The last time was at 5:50 just before closing because I had not heard anything from the rambling vet. She said she had a pile of patient results to go through, then started telling me about the office mascot (a rescue kitten) that was climbing her chair. She did provide the results from the radiologist that nothing was fractured, that she has no idea why he is lame and on three legs and then she started talking about another unrelated topic. I said thank you and have a good night. THIS WAS NOT DR.ASHLEY this was the other vet in the office BUT I DO NOT INTEND TO GO BACK. I have had a wide variety of animals for over 40 years and I have been working with vets for as long. This was the most unprofessional, unhelpful experience I have EVER come across. I thought because of the location this could be a good fit for my dogs care. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! I will drive the distance to Reber Ranch or Enumclaw!!!!

I took my chihuahua in to get his nails clipped. The level of sincere kindness from every person working...was fantastic. They were sensitive to my concern for my furry family member. They went out of their way to make sure we were both comfortable.

Our new puppy was coughing and sneezing. We were not able to get into our normal vet and were referred to Animal Hospital of Maple Valley where we able to make a same-day appointment. Dr. Ashley Austin saw our puppy ans we were impressed with her kindness and knowledge. Because our little guy just came up from Texas, Dr. Austin not only gave us medicine to help his cough, but also made sure we had flea, tick and heart worm medicine as well. We will be a return client.

I love the team at Animal Hospital of Maple Valley. They are compassionate and thoughtful. They kindly coaxed my very nervous 127 pound lab through his appointment and offered to let us come in from time to time so he can familiarize himself with the space and hopefully overcome his nerves.

Dr. Austin is absolutely amazing! Many of you may be skeptical due to the fact that she recently acquired this business. She is a fabulous vet! She takes more time to answer questions and hear what the pet parent wants and needs to understand, than ANY Ive dealt with in the last 34 years! She will also advise you how you may choose to get long-term medications more conveniently for you! She is a vet beyond words.

Had my little meatball Sophia the Boston - French bulldog spaded and Dr. Austin and her staff are amazing!! Sophia is a older meatball (but don’t tell her that!) lol! So I was worried about the outcome, but rest assured, Dr.Austin is amazing!! Sophia came home slept for awhile then woke up ate a steak burger, was drinking water and doing all her little cute stuff she does. Then this morning Sophia woke up and it’s like nothing happened! I’m amazed!! I can barley see the scare, took me a min to find it. I would totally recommend Dr.Austin!!!! Thanks doc for taking such good care of my girl😊

We are new to Washington and our dog needed his rabies booster. They scheduled us right away. They are very safety conscious which was important to us.

Everyone here is so nice and friendly. They do a great job working our doggie in when she needs to be seen and they are great about explaining options, diagnoses, etc. and not running up the bill.

Simply put: this is the ONLY place I would ever take my animals! The Staff is amazing, and they clearly love the animals they take care of. This is a Vets office filled with compassion and honesty. They will always take the time to make sure all your questions are answered and that your pet gets exactly what it needs. It is so reassuring knowing that Dr Austin is always ready to help and care for my 4 legged Family Members! You will NOT be disappointed with your experience at the Animal Hospital of Maple Valley! Dr. Austin earned more than 5 stars in my book today. I have a 9 1/2 week Field Springer I waited months for, and he was perfectly healthy one minute, and sick the next. I was shaken and very scared. I got in within an hour. Dr. Austin was attentive, kind, professional, and reassuring. My pup was better before he even left. The icing was having a clinic cell to call in case he had issues on the next day, Sunday so I wouldnt need to take him to an ER vet. Animal Hospital of MV has been caring for our dogs for over 20 years. I felt like Id lost the connection I had with the previous staff leaving but in one day I feel like I have regained that and am very trusting going forward. I cant say enough good things about my experience at Animal Hospital of Maple Valley. My cat got sick suddenly and they were able to get us in same day. Dr. Austin could not have been more compassionate and patient with me during the process of having to put my cat down. That was one of the hardest things Ive ever had to do but she explained everything to me, answered all my questions and gave me as much time as I needed (I never felt rushed one bit). I will be bringing my pets here from now on. Thank you so much for being as caring as you were and treating me and my Piglet so kindly. I will never forget it.

I needed to get my dog evaluated as soon as possible for a double eye infection. I had limited time and this was not my regular vet clinic. They were able to accommodate my lunchtime need and Dr Austin and staff were exceptional. I would have had to take the whole day off tomorrow to be seen at my regular vets office. Got a kitten a week ago, they were able to get us in within a week for neutering and shots. The pricing is fair and everyone was great to work with.

We are extremely pleased with Dr Austin and her staff. The clinic is run well, and Dr Austin Is very mindful of keeping the cost of services reasonable for the average person. We go to them for incidental services such as nail clipping and other minor things as well as having consulted with Dr Austin on orthopedic issues with both dogs and our cat. Our cat was recently attacked by a neighborhood dog and he had to undergo surgery to repair a ruptured ACL. Typically this type of surgery would run anywhere from $4k up. Dr Austins clinic did a really nice job abd the cost was half that. Recommend this vet highly.

We have been to AHMV several times within the last two years. From trimming nails, getting shots, and saying goodbye to a family member.. the staff are incredibly sensitive, caring, and obviously care about their customers and animals.

So greatful to find the Animal Hospital in Maple Valley. I just moved here a few months ago and my cat became ill. They got us right in and unfortunately my kitty had an aggressive form of cancer, but the team at the Animal Hospital took care of both my kitty and us to make sure we had calm and peace as we helped our kitty be put to rest.....Can’t say how much we appreciate them in this sad time.

One of your front girls who took Winston back to have his nails nails done,had No _personality at all. OMGOODNESS.. didnt catch her name!. Need to work on that. Shes not friendly..The other receptionist was very good. Didnt get the names.Wasnt impressed.

We’ve been traveling through maple valley twice now with our dog and needed to see a vet. Dr Austin is amazing! We were thrilled to just to get in anywhere on short notice, but we’re especially thankful with the care and attention we received. As soon as she walked in the room, she got down on the floor at eye level with our dog to make her feel more comfortable (she’s a nervous pup). After making our dog more comfortable, she was very straightforward with what was going on and easy to chat with about the problem. The front desk staff was very friendly too. On top of it all, I was surprised with the relatively low exam fees. We hope we don’t have any more emergency stops, but we know where we’re going if we’re in the area!When reading other reviews, take into account that they are under new ownership as of July 2019

Friendly staff! Was able to be seen the same day I called. My cat is doing much better after the swift care she was given!

Quite honestly the worst operation ive seen. Zero communication and they forgot to send blood-work to the lab, no follow up and would highly recommend going elsewhere.

I had an appointment and could not locate my indoor outdoor kitty and called to reschedule but did not give them 5 hours notice so they wanted to charge me a $25 dollar no show fee. I was just there on two days prior with my new kitten. I am a brand new customer and was told you signed the policy and “since COVID a lot of people don’t show this causes our existing customers to pay an emergency fee to get their animals in with short notice or in an emergency” SERIOUSLY....all I wanted was to reschedule. They refused to give me any slack and would rather lose a customer over $25 dollars. Crazy guess they don’t need new customers.

Fantastic! Made an emergency, same day appointment for our dog that came up lame. They got us in on time,and we were out within 30 minutes.

These guys were outrageous. I barged through the door past all the signs cuz I had an emergency my dog had an inch and a half piece of wood stuck in his mouth. They took him in sedated him and got it taken care of.

They fit my yorkie in after a grooming injury and the vet came out to my car to explain treatment options. She was very professional and I could tell she cared about my pet’s well being. I plan to make this my primary vet going forward!

My old man Chance had a dental with some extractions here today (I initially planned on having it done at another practice in January, but they could see him sooner here) and the entire experience was great! He is recovering well at home and we are very grateful to all the staff.

They are the best! Always super friendly, knowledgeable, and treat my fur baby like their own!

I have an emergency w my dog German Shepherd vomiting all day, my regular veterinarian said she need immediate care, but they dont have the time to help my dog, WTF.thats when thank God. I found animal hospital, they took us ASAP, take my dog and explain options and possibilities, we have good medicine and my dog feel much better by next day, the ladies in front desk where very nice and professional, and the Doctor was awesome, Im moving my pets, German Shepherd and a cat, w animal hospital immediately, and I will recommend them to friends and family.

I had the most amazing, caring experience with the Dr. and the Staff and would not hesitate to recommend them! They are now my bestie’s (Duffy) primary care vet!!!
