I decided to use this home based operation after my daughter used it. She had needed a bridesmaids dress altered in a rush. She was quoted 280$ when she picked it up was told her new price was over $310. I thought this strange as the owner/seamstress had the fabric had her try it own for the needed alterations and the quote was well above, but since she had it ready in less than a week thought it high but didnt question it. I brought in a jump suit that needed a basic hem around 6 to 8 inches. She told me most hems were $10 but because of the material it would ne $20. She said it would be ready in the afternoon and to.come back. When I arrived she said she didnt know it was a jumpsuit she thought it was pants so the price was now $40. I questioned why this should matter as it was still 2 legs and still the same material. I also had only brought $20. At this point I believe this to be a scam to get more money out of the customer. I would be cautious if you decided to contract with this business. If you do I would lock in the price and/or refuse to pay more after the work is completed. Double the price then double it again is ridiculous!!
The customer service is quicker than other alteration/seamstresses. Dolores is nice. Prices are regular prices. So my alterations or outfits made from scratch have been spot on. She is very knowledgeable in her field.
If I could give no stars I would. Although she was indeed a very sweet old lady, I’m livid with the damage she not only caused to my dress, but refuses to take accountability for. I dropped off my brand new dress about 2 weeks ago. I picked it up and upon getting home with it realized that the hem was crooked, parts of the underneath layer of the dress were longer than the overlay of the dress, and there were grease stains ALL OVER the overlay. I went back to her house to explain my frustration and she said that the dress was already like that when I dropped it off. I ordered this dress online, so it’s not like there was greasy little hands touching it in some retail store. The dress was in a bag with tags on it until the day I dropped it off. So now after spending nearly $200 on the dress and alterations, I now have to get it dry cleaned before the wedding I am to wear the dress in next weekend and pray that these stains come out. If you value your clothes, take them to a professional that works out of a legitimate shop.
