Today I had the pleasure to speak to Jamie. She was very helpful and informative. She explained how data works with the high speed Internet and helped me save money so I’m no longer getting overages on data ( even with the additional 500 added prior). Jamie had excellent customer service skills, and being in the communication business I’d love to recruit her to work for me! I highly recommend the Mahattan Cox store. They are always very accommodating and understanding when I need assistance. Thank you Jamie!!

Moved to Manhattan a couple of years ago and Cox is the only available service provider where I live. It was ok at first but quickly went downhill. I cant even count on one hand the amount of times weve had our router shut down just to be told there was an outage in our area in the past month alone. Better yet, we pay for the fastest internet package possible, which is around 400mb/s since we have so many people at home, but I can barely get around 20 mb/s on any given device and am constantly losing connection on several of my devices including my phone and laptop. I decided to download a game on my pc the other day and connected it directly to the router via an ethernet cable, which shouldve given me maximum download speed, but I had only peaked at 35 mb/s. Its such a scam

Very nice people, however, I was told multiple times that my home was eligible for self installation and it would be a very easy plug and play install. I was not, however notified, that if it does not work the first time you plug it in, the liability is 100% on you and a technician will have to come out, which costs $100. This would not have been a huge deal, except for I was already able to get a free pro install until I plugged a coax cable into a box... I was very disappointed that they did not tell me a head of time what taking the modem/router home meant... As a college student with $40,000 in debt, I really have no time for frivolous charges by a multibillion dollar corporation, for things they told me I could have previously, with no charge.

Lived in Manhattan for 5 years now and every time I have moved they offer me a cable and internet package claiming a low price, but every single time my monthly rate ends up being almost double what they said. The Cox website is also terrible, not letting you choose a downgrade without upgrading something else. I truly despise your company and will gladly switch as soon as physically possible

Recently moved to Manhattan KS. Chose Cox for our communications. No problem setting up Internet but could not get TV to work. After a call to support who couldn’t resolve the issue, scheduled an appointment with a technician. Travis came out in person and got us up and running quickly. He also showed us tips on accessing channels. He was very professional and friendly!. Should we ever have another problem, we want Travis to be our tech!

I have been trying to set up a land line for mother in nursing home. In dealing with Cox initially, the were very easy to work with. Now three weeks later the land line is still not hooked up ! Technician out there yesterday - could not get on site as I previously told them. Technician said he did not do anything, but if phone had a dial tone - all Cox needed to do is switch the number over! She has a dial tone!! Been trying to get a hold of customer service. Have called five times - left four message with their message saying they will get back to us asap. If it had not already been three weeks - I would be looking for a new service provider!

Internet worked well for the first year or so with little problem. Major issues and spotty internet the last 6 months that they could not resolve. Internet would suffer at the same time every night which suggests they were throttling our internet connection. Would not recommend.

Cox started out decent a few years ago, but its consistently gotten harder to manage settings on their router and network, as well more internet outages in the past few months than the past years combined. When its working its a decent service, just buy your own router so you dont have to deal with their terrible interface

Worked ok the year I had it. I moved out of town and cancelled my membership and automatic pay. three months later they randomly charged me. I called and asked them about it and they said they would be sending me a refund in the mail, but it never came. they assured me that the problem wouldn’t happen again, but it did.

Time outs start at 9-10pm EVERY night! No matter how many times we talk to the call center or the store they cant figure out anything. Finally we ended up using their modem so they would stop blaming our equipment. After 5 different modems its MORE than safe to say its NOT at all possible its our equipment. They refuse to fix anything even when have showed them the ping logs to their equipment being the failure and pings to our equipment being fine. We would have jumped ship long ago if AT&T wasnt worse. WE NEED MORE OPTIONS!!Edit: We FINALLY got the issue resolved after I dont know how many service calls and how many hours wasted with the call center (who is useless as can be). The only advice I can offer is, if you KNOW you have a problem with your lines demand a Cox tech. The contractors are just as useless as the call center employees, so dont use them. After 2 Cox techs they finally found and replaced the bad piece of line that was no where near our home. 3-4 homes would have been on the same equipment so I guess its safe to assume our neighbors dont have Cox and/or dont use the internet much so this all fell on us.

I cannot express how much I truly dislike this company. Their lack of customer service is phenomenal. Told I was going to be billed for a lower price but that never happened. Then I call to transfer service and following the correct menu options lands you with new services. Dont want new services, dont want your so-called promotions. Simply want to transfer existing service. So then Im given another number to call to transfer service! If I was setting up a new account, I could have it installed and turned on in 2 days. Since I declined that and just transferred existing services, I now have to wait an entire week?! So as an existing, established customer I am punished for not opening a new account and signing up for a deal. Worst customer service ever. If theyd focus more on their customer service and less on trying shove sales and promotions down your throat, more people might stick around. I know Im not going to after this.

I love this local store. Everyone that I have ever dealt with has been awesome! The unfavorable reviews that I have read in my opinion are untrue. Maybe two sides to a story because I have had nothing but absolutely positive interactions with this location!!! I have worked with at least 4 different employees. All have been friendly, helpful, patient and very pleasant to work with from service set up to walking me thru TV set up.... just wonderful!! Go there!!

Ive had Cox for 4 years. Most issues have been recent and Im not happy with them. Internet keeps cutting out or disconnecting for a hour at a time. Recently a change was made to my account and I didnt not make it. They tried to say it could have been a system error and at first wanted me to pay it. The bill was $100 over what I usually pay. I have never had this issue before but Im about to disconnect service when they open

I was sold their gigablast internet package because I kept going over the 1tb data cap and getting charged $10 extra per 50 gig of data. I was told the gigablast I would have 2tb data cap. And I pay $100 a month just for internet. Plus $10 a month for the modem. I received a message today that I’m going over my 1tb data cap. I called and they informed me all their plans have a 1tb data cap but I can upgrade (pay more) for more data. I was sold 2tb when I took the service. I want what I was sold. Their answer was to “monitor my usage and when I’m about to go over turn my modem off”. I will be shopping for a different service.I want what I was sold. They are refusing to fix the problem and give me what I was sold. I was lied to and will not continue business with a company that is dishonest and over priced as it is. Over the past few years. They have had me upgrade my services. Any issues they will have you upgrade your service again and again just to get more of your money. I suggest checking with AT&T. Or another provider that will be more honest on what they sell you.I would give 0 stars on cox if I could.

Waited all weekend for a call from a service tech, I get you’re busy. You can let someone know if you’re coming or not, even if you don’t know the time. It takes forever to schedule a install, and manager acts as if you’re not important since they’re so busy. Employees are helpful, manager could use some work with dealing with customers. Better deal with online sales.

I went in to ask about getting some cable, not any internet plan as I already had one, just some cable. I already had the plan in mind that I wanted to sign up for but all they wanted to do was sign me up for a new internet and cable bundle that costs $130 a month! They would not even tell me about their cable only options! They said all they had were these three bundle deals and they were going to sign me up for one.I walk out and return another time with some more info and to try to get a different representative. I got the same service and everything except now this guy already signed me up for it (He said I had came in earlier asking about it so he just added it to my account when I returned without me asking him to) without telling me and I had to make sure they did not add that $130 a month bundle plan before I walked out of the store again! I feel like they are more than ready to take advantage of college students. I wish another internet and cable provider would offer service to my apartment!

Cox is another company trying to make money. However you have to constantly check your speed daily to ensure that you get 300Mb. So far their internet service is decent in my area, however some area might not get the same quality of service. Another thing that helps customers get what they are paying for is to upgrade your equipment. Ensure that your equipment can handle 10 times the speed you are paying for to ensure that the company cannot say that your equipment is at fault. Cox has a lot of mixed reviews. The great thing about their selling point for myself is that they do not need a contract which means I can cancel at any time.

Internet goes out 3-4 times a day. It is too expensive, and a data cap???? On WiFi??? In 2019??? They also seem to be throttling our gigabit Internet, the highest speeds we’ve seen was 90 mb/s. Words cannot put into perspective the rage that cox internet has caused for myself and my fellow tenants. I have told cox about these issues many times and the issues still persist. I would recommend avoiding cox at all costs considering I am writing this review on my phone plan because the internet went out. COX sucks s**t.

Cox is the only provider that works at our apartment, so unfortunately they are our only option. When we first moved into our new apartment we got tons of calls pushing us to set up our internet through them. Finally we did and we never received a bill, I reached out to the man who had been calling us constantly and of course he never got back to me. Then I call the main hotline only to find out my bill is insane because the rep set up a bunch of additional fees we didnt want. Luckily the help line was able to fix that and actually help me fix my bill. Overall just terrible customer service and zero communication, do not recommend.

Completely unreliable. Im in college and need the internet for assignments, quizzes, and exams but I cant rely on cox because it keeps going out on me. Anytime I need to do something important I have to go to campus (I live about a 10min drive from campus). It is sad when the campus has better wifi than you. This is the third time the internet has gone out in the span of two weeks. Every time it goes out, it is is out for 2-3 days. It is ridiculous, spend your money on an internet provider that actually works and will help you. Whenever I have contacted them about it, they always claim that it is my fault even though everybody across town is having the same problem.

When the service works, its amazing. The problem is that it never works consistently. Our wifi will drop daily, even with their best plans. Customer service is sub par too. Would not recommend. Only reason I still use them is because their competition is just as bad and I dont want to pay the additional cost of switching.

Poor communication. Difficulty getting issues resolved. The local store says one thing while the online chat and 800 number support team say another. Can never get anyone to answer the local store phone. Technician missed appointment. Took calling the store 13 times over a week before someone finally answered to reschedule. Called 3 times trying to reach the manager. Was told he was not in but would be calling. Never called. Very disappointed thus far.

I went trying to get internet. The person helping me seemed to be new to the job and was learning but did not know how to navigate the process on the computer. The other person working was with another customer and could not help so we just had to wait for about 30 minutes until someone could come over and help. They want you to rent their equipment( for an extra $10 a month) and would not let me use my own modem because it had previously been used for Cox internet. All told I spent 45 minutes there with not a whole lot to show for it. I think it is like your typical cable company, not too many people have great things to say but there are not many other options so people use them anyway.

It has been a while now that I keep calling the customer service to remove a balance that shouldnt have been there the first place and they promise to remove it and the next bill I see it is still there. It has been now a waste of time to call the representative and get nothing accomplished.

Brought in my cable box (damaged in the house flooding) expecting to get charged for some made up service fee. Staff took the old box and gave me a newer model right away, no charge! The cable and wifi service is not the cheapest around but what is the cost of getting jerked around when you have a problem? Always dreaded dealing with the cable company but having a user friendly location (near Walmart) with staff and replacement equipment on hand goes a long way.

We were told there would be zero charge and then found a $55 charge connected to our account. When we called and asked about it they said it was a valid charge and there was nothing they could do about it.

Have been using them for internet. My signal has been intermittent and weak for over a year. Ive had about 6 service calls; some have made it better but it is still more or less the same. Cant really play games consistently. Absolutely horribly overpriced. Would give negative 5 stars.

Worst internet ever! We have outages ALL THE TIME. They bundle the high speed with other users and so at peak times we cant even watch one movie on one device, even though we are supposed to have high speed with 2 devices. We had cox come to the house and called - nothing helps. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. If you have a choice choose different company -w e have no choice.

This company is appropriately named! They are horrendous to work with. They bend over backwards to get you service and if you have to leave they put you through the ringer. My parents have used them since I can remember and I have used them up until now. We always had a standing joke about them being a necessary evil. I cant and wont deal with it any longer. I would rather go without internet and cable from here on out than use Cox Communications again. My advice is use them as last resort!

Every 4 months these guys like to over charge us for internet. Our billing cycle just ended on the 13th if February and it is now the 15th and they say we are at 21% usage! They said they can’t tell us what is using so much speed but it is mostly likely Our 4yr Old child some how staying home all day by himself using up the bandwidth! I don’t know how he does it but apparently he leaves daycare as soon as we drop him off only to come back home and watch an abundance of Netflix while we are at work!! I don’t know how he does it but he took us from 73-85% usage all the way to 138% in a month!!! But in all seriousness I wish that Cox would get it together and quit playing with the people that pay them to use there network. You already have such high prices here that they feel the need to just screw you over whenever they want without even taking you to dinner first! Just wishing something better comes along soon...

Awful they lie to you and are dishonest about their prices we were given a 220$ cable bill on a 150$ bundle, they told us they would fix it by lowering our bill next month. The next month our bill was just what it was originally, when we contacted cox about this they said they were wrong about being able to lower our cable bill but they didnt tell us this until it was time to pay. Then they pretty much acknowledged that they lied to us. Maybe they think they can push us around because were only college kids. But Im gonna try to convince my roomates to cut the cord so we dont have to deal with this stuff.

Worst service I had ever gotten. No one ever answers the phone there. Tried to call them for 5 days and finally went into the store after no luck only to find 5 people working just standing around doing nothing. Do they not teach them how to use a phone or better yet do they even have a phone there? Sure doesnt seem like it. Then I had a guy named Robert help me and gave me a made up offer of internet preferred for $59 a month for ONLY 6 months. Went online to check when I got home and the offer definitely says for 12 months so I ended up cancelling and going with someone else for internet.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Every time I turn around my internet is going out for no reason. I call to find out what’s wrong and they never know and then say they’ll send a rep out, who usually knocks once and if you don’t get there in .5 seconds flat will leave. If you don’t get there they still charge you the fee even though nothing was done. If you do manage to answer before they leave they will fiddle with it for two seconds, claim it’s a staticky line. Then leave promptly. Then a few hours later the internet goes out multiple times again and will continue to do so every single day. It’s getting old Cox.

Received charges online, then told later that those charges were incorrect. I was then told, and I quote, that I “should have known the charges were incorrect”. Their technician left our house a total mess. Yes it’s a trailer but it’s our trailer. I wouldn’t recommend this provider to my worst enemy. We can’t get them to repair everything they tore up. Then they have the audacity to send us offers to get their cable service for x amount of $. As if we’d ever use your service again. What a worthless POS company if there ever was a bad example of how to be a cable provider this is it. I’m reporting them to the BBB the Manhattan chamber of commerce I’m going to do a review on Yelp also. They’ll be blasted on Facebook and the Neighborhood app. All so everyone can know to get Dish or WTC anyone else other then these fools. I’m out of town and my wife has trying to get this issue addressed since I was hame in September 2018 it’s now November this all happened in August while I was out of town working. Ive been a Cox Cable customer for over 1 year now. I had noticed for some time, over a period of months, that my internet speeds have been greatly slowed down. I pay for the bronze bundle which includes 50 megabytes per second download speeds. I had seen it be in the 30 Mbps before and figured it was just part of peak hour usage. However,. 87 Mbps is absolutely unexplainable. I cannot believe that this place gets away with lying to Consumers like this.

We have used Cox for residential service for more than a decade, and both the TV and internet have been quite reliable. Over that time period, some things have occasionally degraded (like outside connectors, cable boxes, etc.). So I do agree that frustrations can occur. But cable technologies are not perfect. This is not Coxs fault IMHO. When I have had to call for service, they have been excellent on the phone (if you approach the problem and the personnel right). When they had to come out to the house a couple of times, the service folks were always nice, and they got the job done.For example, they replaced all the splitters in our outside box, even though technically those are not their responsibility. They also replaced the cable drop coax from the pole, completely cleaning up our signal. That is, the personnel understood technically what was needed and did it. Internet speeds and TV have been solid for almost 2 years now thanks to his doing the job right.The store personnel have also always been nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. I just got back today from the store where I swapped out a DVR box that had become troublesome, and it was a quick and pleasant experience. I did have to call the main number to get it fully authorized once I got home, but Ive had experience with that, so it was not a surprise.Of course it helps to think ahead and try to come to the store when they are not swamped. Yes - calling the store doesnt always work, but if you call the main number, they can probably help - at least for technical issues.Finally - cost. Id knock off a star or two for that maybe, but promotions can help and overall weve been satisfied customers for the last decade. So Im giving 5 stars to thank those who work for Cox. Kudos to all the staff weve worked with us over the years to keep our TV and internet running well.

Terrible internet performance, overpriced and it just keeps going up from there. I am the only person using a 100 mbps download plan trying to watch Netflix on a smart tv and I receive such low speeds that I can’t even get the app to load. Every time I go in I am given a new modem by the lady employee who then rushes you out the door and doesn’t listen to a word or look at any of the speed test data you bring in. One employee finally helped me and told me it was interference with the neighbors internets as well so I changed my WiFi channel and not 1 day later I’m back to where I can’t watch a anything but a blank screen but they can sure as heck take $90 out of my pocket a month to give me nothing. It’s total garbage and no matter what you do to try and fix it the internet is trash and it’s always something that they can’t fix. The manager is no help and he just walks around the store stands at the back counter and drinks his monster energy drink even though he has seen me come in 2 times in a day and 3 times with 5 days. Thank god k get internet through my cell plan or else I wouldn’t be able to post this review. I’m going to stare at a black screen now and wait to talk to some customer service agent that will have no useful answers for me.

Multiple time have I upgraded my internet speeds only to lag and have connection issues. Theyve replaced our modem countless times, sent techs to check the wires. At this point im convinced their servers run on a potato, DO NOT RELY ON COX FOR SCHOOL!

Paid activation fee, then their cable is not activated outside. Tech stopby and fix the cable outside the building, and then they build you $75 for home installation. Their cable outside is broke, and they bill you more for it. We went to store, manager says pay pay pay. Then you have no choice.

Cox is another example of the oligarchy of Internet connections in the United States. They have terrible service and dont care about customers. The service may be fast (when it works) but it is over priced. I hope they get replaced with a fiber network.

The customer service/service, period, here is terrible. I scheduled an appointment to have cable and wifi installed, and the tech came and ran some tests and told me there wasnt a wire to my hookup and Id have to talk to my apartment management. Did that, went to the store again to schedule another appointment now that there was a better understanding of the problem, and they send the same tech who can only go through the same motions. Talked to my apartment management, again, and THEIR B&G guy flips a switch in a box in my closet where all the electrical is and what do you know, apartment is cable ready. Why a cox tech with enough equipment on his toolbelt to build a nuclear facility couldnt figure this out in two trips, I have no idea. Went back to this store a third time to reschedule my THIRD appointment made for the install, to move it up because Ive now been without wifi (aka the ability to WORK AND STUDY FROM HOME) for close to a week and this next appointment would put me at two weeks, and I was told I would receive a call from the store manager. Waited until less than an hour to close, finally called HIM, and got my appointment moved up a couple days. Whether I would have known about this if I hadnt called, doubtful. If there were any other options for cable and wifi in this city, I would have transitioned a long time ago. Im as flexible as they come with these sorts of things and readily give people and companies the benefit of the doubt, but the lack of giving a s$&$ from this store is why Im writing this post. Heres a parting (and novel) idea: how about you focus more on simple installs and sticking to your word, and less on beating me to the door so you can hold it open when I walk out. It doesnt have the same touch when you force me to stop by every other day because of this ridiculousness.This is what happens when you have zero natural accountability from competition.

We have not had any service since Sunday night - no cable tv, no internet, no digital phone. We called yesterday and were told they were doing maintenance in our area, but they couldnt tell us how long it would take. This is ridiculous! I have a home business that I cant access from home. I tried to call today and couldnt even get to a person. Cox has no customer service.

Describe your experience: Horrified!Why: Up until last week I was receiving roughly 70 channels of TV. Now I cant watch anything. I called cox and discovered they went all digital and that if I wanted to watch TV again I would now have to purchase a digital receiver and get cox service added. They explained the first receiver is free... for one year.I have five TVs one in each bedroom and one in my family room. The cost is now adding up exponentially over a year. While on the phone with the representative she explained that I had been receiving the cable channels illegally. She blamed me for coxs inability to disconnect services 17 years ago when I moved in. Now ... I get the brunt of their stupidity. Hmmmmmm...OK ...since I am not a cable expert I truly didnt know something was wrong. Cox has been to my house several times over the years to fix the cable lines, and never has anyone said anything to me about being hooked up illegally until cox decided to go ALL digital.The representative that I spoke to, explained that going ALL digital happened to coincided with an audit that was done on my line after 17 years. Hmmmmmm..... I must be really stupid.Of course my question to the representative was why and she gave me the roundabout answer of how the service will be so much better for me where I will have a clearer picture on my TVs, faster internet capabilities and several other things.After going a few rounds with the representative I realized nothing was going to change. The service I had been receiving for 17 years was now dead! My loyalty to the company means nothing. My bundled phone lines and internet service is a sham. Funny that the internet has not changed as a matter of fact I have more problems now than I did before the “digital” flop.What can I do??? Simply spread the word one person at a time.I have been pissed on by this company, and now I am pissed off!

The worst provider I know ... Ive moved to Manhattan ks and they take advantage of the fact that, there arent many options here and treat you purely. Looking forward to other possibilities... run in the other direction if possible
