After some pretty rough experiences at other shops in town, I thought Id give Buds a go. Turned out to be a wonderful decision. They kept me informed during the process of repair, didnt push for unnecessary repairs, and made the overall process easy. My car runs like a dream. I trust the mechanics there and highly encourage anyone to make Buds their go-to repair shop.

These guys are awesome. They definitely live up to their good reviews. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to them. They will take care of you.

Long story short: Expensive, slow, unprofessional, and dishonest.After three visits Im done trying to give this small business the benefit of the doubt. The quality of work is below average, they have never been on time, and are priced high for an independent place. You might as well go to the dealership to get better, more professional, work done more quickly for a comparable price. The last visit I dropped off a car for a 5 hour job, it took 24 days! They called me 14 days after I dropped it off to confirm ordering the part even though I confirmed it when I bought it in. To make things worse, they broke a $15 dollar part on a $900 dollar job and didnt fix it, instead they lied and said it was broken when it came in. I would have just paid for it. Never going back, wouldnt recommend them to anybody.

This was my third time I scheduled an appointment and I left with a very satisfied experience. I told them what needed to be done. They wrote everything down and actually did everything unlike the big car service departments do. Their mechanics are top notch and know how to talk about your concerns. I feel their price for their work is a fair price and less than I expected.

Buds Auto is a business I worked work with again because they are down to Earth and honest people! They have been very accommodating of the situation I was in and were incredibly helpful!

They were booked full but were flexible enough to fit me in for a small adjustment to my struts and suspension. very kind people and professional. fair prices too.

Great service will for sure go back for service again

Went in with a quote to fix manifold exhaust; final bill was three times the quote. They kept saying they would call with updates, never received a call; I had to call them and even stopped by to find out what was going on. Was told they were going to pull the motor so I requested the spark plugs be changed out; they commented that it made sense to do this. Almost a month later, finally got a text saying truck was repaired. Questioned the repairs and asked about the spark plugs. Said they didnt know they were supposed to change the plugs however, they offered to buy the plugs so I could do the job myself; defeats the purpose of having it done with the engine out. Then, I discovered the transmission leaking due to their work. Had to take truck back to them so they could fix that. Read such great reviews which is why I choose them; really let down by my experience.

Ive had my various vehicles serviced and repaired at Buds Auto Service for over fourteen years. Im 100% satisfied with their expert service. Ive seen other customers beautiful exotic and classic cars that they have been entrusted with in the parking lot over the years. I also have seen a lot of business owners service vans and trucks that they also maintain. Its really simple if you want your vehicle repaired correctly and professionally the first time take it to Buds, they are right southeast of the Manhattan Walmart. They have thousands of happy customers and Im one of them.

Checked with a friend who has specially cars, he recommended Buds Auto Service. Took my RV to Buds. Engine was running rough, generator was leaking oil, and the running lights were not working.He gave me a bid to fix the problems. He fixed them all and the final price was lower then the his first bid.I am on the road again and the RV is working perfect.Will take all my vehicles for maintenance to Buds.

Great Mechanic Shop! Speedy repairs and reasonable priced. By far the best Shop I have ever dealt with. All the work they do on cars, lasts. Not only that when working on my car they saw something else that might need a newer part and instead of just replacing it and charging me. They let me know first before they just started adding to my bill. Not everyone does that.

I was recommended to this auto shop months ago and never needed to go in. Called every shop in MHK and the day before the 4th of July to get my air fixed so I could get me and my puppy back home to Topeka for the holiday; prices were either outrageous or they werent able to get my in until after the holidays. Losing hope on being able to spend the holiday with my family due to no air and the temperature being over 95 degrees, Bobs was my last hope. I called and they gave me a quote that was very manageable over the phone before even knowing what needed to be fixed and told me they closed in 30 but if I made it there in 10 minutes they would fix whatever needed to be fixed. I was in and out within 15 minutes with air colder than youd think was possible. Very kind and sweet staff, hard workers, caring and trustworthy. I am happy to say Ive finally found the auto shop that will be working on my car from here on out. Thank you to every single one of you guys! It meant more than you realize.

Buds Automotive has been our familys mechanic for over 15 years. Mike is fair in his prices, and accurate in his work! They may not be as quick as youd like - but thats because theyre always busy! They do quality work for competitive rates - you wont find a better, more affordable, customer friendly mechanic in Manhattan.

This is the BEST auto service in Manhattan! After I filled my car with diesel instead of gas on a Sunday, I spoke with Bud and Mike the next day and they told me they would be able to fix it. I brought the car in that morning and they had it fixed and running that afternoon! Mike even stayed late to make sure we got the car back that day due to our busy schedule. Great group of guys, and an excellent business.

Avoid at all costs. Charged my husband 200 dollars to change a light. Will never be returning. What a scam!

If you are even considering going somewhere else - DONT! Buds auto is the best service I have found in Manhattan. I was in and out in less than 2 hours and they answered all my questions thoroughly and treated me with respect. The prices were incredibly good. I can not say enough good things about them!!! I never take the time to write reviews but I wanted to add another good one here. I was nervous because of the couple of negatives but I cant imagine them having that experience because mine was so good!!!

If youre even thinking about using this place you might as well save yourself some money, and go ahead and start replacing items that are involved with your issue starting with the most expensive. Continue replacing items until issue is resolved at least that way all you have money into is parts and a little bit of time! Better than having their certified mechanics do the same thing all the while your paying.

Took car there for noise in steering. Instead of diagnosing the problem they fixed what they thought was the problem. Over $700 later the noise returned...

Called about a headlight bulb replacement, quoted me 155$ saying it would take and hour and a half. i just had the other one replaced a few months ago and know it can be done in 45 mins. they said regardless of how long it actually takes them they will charge me for an hour and a half worth of labor because thats what the computer says and they have to keep the lights on. you already charge 5x what you pay the guy to do it. Taking my business to a shop that only charges me for the work they actually do.

Just picked up my GMC Jimmy from Buds...If you can make the drive to Manhattan to get your vehicle serviced at Buds-- make the drive. They treat you like family and can absolutely, without a doubt, be totally trusted.

Got an oil change here that seemed way over priced (40$+) and then a week later my car had a mysterious leak in the steering fluid tube right at the top where it was visible. Mysterious aka I have a strong suspicion one of the mechanics here sliced it. Of course this is all hypothetical, either way I wont be back

I took my car there for one thing and they didnt fixed the problem so they said there was other problems and fixed them witch. I dont think they did anything just charged a lot off money

WORST experience ever! Had problems with the front end of my car. Pick it up after it being there for a week and drove it home only to find out they never fixed everything! They never took the car for a test drive after replacing the wheel, you could tell by the shake. Not only that they replaced the wheel with a used wheel that was also NO good! Awful, experience would not recommend to anyone!

If it could have no stars it needs it . He had car for 2 days and could not diagnose it. Funny it only had a stripped out plug hole in the head. I would not let him change oil in my push mower. Dont waste your time with these types of auto repair shops. 0 for customer servive. Rude and slow. I hope the Better biz checks this guy out. Milotary town and taking advantage.
