Wonderful, very helpful staff!Shout out to Selah, Melony and caseworker, Jenn! Shelters suck in general but Id definitely recommend New Horizons if youre in need of their services!
A nice man took my donations
Very helpful.
They helped one of my employees get on there feet
I have been coming here for years and I appreciate everything they do for you keeps food on my table thank you very much
Its reliable and life saving
Staff changes very often but its a place to sleep & eat if you need it.
Im volunteer here an I.love what I do
Really good place. Lots of help it you want it. Not just shelter!
Provide excellent services for those in need. If you ever feel like being a blessing, Keep them in mind...They will be in my heart and spirit andI will also think about them in other means also. You all are awesome in your endeavors; you wont be overlooked😇😇😇😇😇
The people that work there do NOT CARE about the HOMELESS.
Exceptional organization... When once upon a time you or I needed a little bit of help it was organizations like this that helped in ways one needed most. From food, shelter, and more.
A great variety and abundance of food is offered up by compassionate volunteers. These people work hard to bring good quality food items into the pantry and to the soup kitchen.
They do great work with the homeless community providing shelter, food, and other types of assistance. I have had to stand in the food pantry line on a few occasions and the staff and volunteers never look down on you or make you feel inferior for any reason. They have a good system that makes the process easy, secure, and speedy. Since they built the indoor waiting area, people no longer have to wait in line outside during rain, sleet, snow, cold, hot, or other severe weather conditions. Its a blessing to have them in our city helping the people in need.
The people that work there are great!
Well run soup kitchen in Manchester that serves meals to needy 365 days a year. Noble cause not to leave any one go hungry. Hats off.I dont like like the amount of food thrown away by those who receive the meals however (mostly Salads, Vegis, desert and Milk by some), and wish there is a workable alternate. In any case, this is a wonderful cause that everyone one should support
Signed up for Christmas Basket delivery on thanksgiving AT THE PANTRY. Must be home for delivery 8-4PM SAT 21ST, 2019. BOTH MY NEIGHBOURS RECIEVED THEIRS AT 9AM, BOTH WOMEN WHO DELIVERED DIDNT HAVE OURS SAID THEY WOULD COME BACK TO THE LOBBY AND DOUBLE CHECK LIST. NEVER CAME BACK. WAITED UNTIL 4PM. IN LOBBY AND LEFT 3 MESSAGES FOR JACKIE STONE TO PLEASE CALL US BACK AND NO ONE CALLED US BACK. NOW WE HAVE NO CHRISTMAS DINNER THIS YEAR.
Providing for the less fortunate is a thankless job. The people here do it well & with a smile. Other than the few clients who are happy to use the services but discriminate against drug addicts to make themselves feel superior, like RZ, most users of services are grateful to have a place to get warm & get food. I volunteer. Bet none of those with negative reviews have lifted a finger to help.
Good for Homeless People
Its a good place for the homeless if they can follow the rules breakfast every day for those staying there. There is a food pantry for low income families and a soup kitchen every day. The basement is an outreach clinic ran by CMC there are case managers to help people who stay there get back on track
Not bad if your in a pinch, but be ready for strict rules involving when to eat, sleep, smoke tobacco, be inside, get out in am.. hard to hold job staying here but its open 24/7 365 so... Thanks
I am treated with respect and dignity while staying here. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay.
While the shelter says that they are trying to help as much as they can, once you get yourselves off the streets, if you need any help at all they turn their backs on you. I worked with case management and did what my husband and I needed to do and we have been in our own apartment for over a year now. I went in today to ask for a simple bus pass so that I may get to my job interview, which is a servicethat they do offer (I have used it before) and just like I said, they turned their bank on me and said that they would not give me a bus pass because I am no longer homeless and staying in their shelter! You would think that they would be happy to help knowing that what I did while I was there and working with their case managers is what got me off the streets. But nope, all I got was a sorry we wont help you. Good luck, have a good day! Very disappointing and discouraging!
Everything tastes like old cardboard boxes, but in a pinch and no money for food its better than nothing at all. Good for cakes n sweets. People are usually smelling of booze and stareing at the girls and woman.
Went for my once a month food. The people a very friendly and helpful. They give you a ton of food to take home!
Good place to get food when you need it and free dinner
Great place for food pantry and bread line once month box of food with ID but also daily bread line to supplement your food box hours are posted on web page and on the building by the door
Heros in disguise if you ask me. My family helped volunteer here Christmas morning. The regular staff is exceptional for what they have. They go above and beyond without a second guess.
This place is a joke and they should be ashamed of themselves. I have been turned away numerous times. I have a job and am saving for a place but need somewhere to sleep for about the next month. Meanwhile jobless deadbeats sell and buy their drugs literally right outside this place in plain view. I have never touched a hard drug in my life and I have always been self reliant and hard working. I cant believe how poorly run this place seems to be.
Overwhelmingly filthy inside. Understandable why the homeless dont want to sleep, eat or use the bathrooms there, its pretty much DISGUSTING!
Its have great resources for family..and people in need
Not as bad as I thought. Good people work here.
My drs office
Grateful for this place.
Its ok has changed alot
Its a temporary shelter/ soup kitchen and a place where you can get help with food to bring home. Theres a bread line schedule, and a food pantry schedule that you must register with, but the food is donated by local stores that cant sell because of the expiration date
I started out here back in 1986. Great place to restart a transition if you are single and willing to work hard
Its a homeless shelter but they serve dinner there. If you have children they will let you in first before anyone else even if they been there longer than you. W/O children you have to stand in line until they let you in.
Great place great people helping the community good structure excellent volunteers definitely will keep going back and forth and volunteering
This place is of no good quality your kids are much better off eating trash and dirt over eating what they try to feed you I hate to sound like an ass but just because we r poor due to having to pay other things like rent heat electric gas medical bills our food shouldnt be that of the lowest part of the barrel the food a human can get. I have gotten and what others have gotten has been frozen thawed refrozen and again thawed and again frozen then packed and handed to you by people who dont love what they do they dont care about u period and thats sad because they r volunteers who choose to just so happen to volunteer here at the new horizons food pantry the city have enough funds to help ppl get nutrition and healthy food onto a families plate... So why are we slacking on the little ppl of the world its bad enough they have so little as is food should never be an issue for homeless or nearly homeless-poverty level individuals
It is not the best of both worlds, but a safe place to go.
I stayed there in times of desperate need to start my life over. Great staff and food bank... Counseling available and medical
Loved serving the people. Were so kind and grateful
Staff are wonderful people!
They give out good food etc.
Fentanyl prices were very decent . Was told like most shelters in the area that IV use was a requirement to stay there, only gave 3 stars because I got hepatitis B from the needle that the fentanyl came in so thanks to the guy that sits at the desk ...
If youve been there then you know!
Always doing the best they can easy to donate pleasant people.
They do amazing work here keep it up guys
Its a homeless shelter, unfortunately had to spend a couple nights there. Couldnt even use the bathroom due to the line of people waiting to shootup
Received lots of help when I really needed it!!!
Great people and the best food pantry in Manchester in my opinion.
Amazing program great place to volunter your time.
Helped me get back on my feet back in the early 2000s. They provided me a roof over my head, a bed, and 2 meals a day.

Even as a Muslim, they treated me equally and was very nice and helpful.

Im so glad Manchester has a facility like this to help people!
I go to New Horizons to use the food pantry. There is always an ample selection of food, and the people handing out the food are always friendly.
I love working with people
The staff here are very dedicated. And while they cant always help on everything, they certainly try to help as much as possible.
They are very helpful polite, very nice and caring people
Staff is very kind. Looks like a well managed place.

Good place to volunteer
The food pantry is ridiculously
They feed you dinner. They give you a place to sleep if you are homeless or just need a meal . they have a food pantry where you can get food to take home
Nice people good jobs
The line for the food pantry is quite long, and should you help anyone else take the foods out of the building your asked to leave and not come back.
I offered to donated some great clothing...they say no only in season stuff...really?!
Very good people this pantry is great
New Horizons does a lot of great things for the city of Manchesters less fortunate residents.
I cant be fair. This is my 1st. time being homeless, due to domestic violence & hopefully the last. The orginazition helps anyone that asks.
Help for all people
For all these ppl giving high ratings..maybe they dont remember this is the same place that kicked a homeless man out in a storm and he was found dead in a bench...soooo..ya...
