Came here to get my alternator rebuild. Unless Im completely deaf when he gave me a quote he told me 80. Then the day of pick up he said it was 180. Having said that I went ahead and pay for it because I love the way the alternator looked. Here we are less than 4 months later and the alternator gave up. Came yesterday to get it fixed per his one year warranty and the shop was closed. Regret the day i met this guy...
Great quality rebuild, really fair price. Great company. Only down side was how difficult it was to get in touch with the store. I went three times in person (twice in one day) and no one was there, door was locked but hours said open. A few times I tried calling and got no answer but eventually got in touch. Other then that, he even repainted and cleaned up my alternator. I definitely recommend Arties Auto Electric.
Im not sure how this guy stays in business. Our car was towed there because it had an electrical problem the standard AAA service center was unable to figure out. After sitting there for almost two weeks, I called to find out what was happening. I was told he was busy doing a rewiring job and he would get to our car as soon as he could. After another week without any of my phone calls being returned, I drove over to find out what was happening. Although the shop is supposed to open at 9:00, Chris tooled in around 9:30-9:40. After telling him who I was and why I was there, he said, Oh, I just was about to call you. According to him, the computer blew out and he was having a hard time locating a replacement.I left, went online, and found a replacement within 3 minutes. During the course of the next week, I called him several times telling him that I had the part, lets get it done. No answer. Finally, after taking another day off from work, I went over there to talk to him directly. Again, he shows up late around 9:40. Dude, I called you several times. Why didnt you call me back?Oh. Uh. I havent checked my messages. After a week? But, I found the part, and now Im just waiting for them to program it.It it wasnt obvious before, it was now clear he was LYING to me. Those parts are manufactured and shipped programmed. Its a $250 part and a 30 minute job to swap them out. An experience automotive electrician should know this, because I know this.I had my car towed to another shop, where they told me that a wire leading to the oxygen sensor had rubbed up against the transmission, worn out, and created a short. Wouldnt you know that a real repair shop where the people come to work on time had the problem figured out and fixed in a day? This guy is really busy, and if you bring your car to him he might not want your business. What dont you do him a favor and take your car somewhere else?
Chris is very knowledgeable fair and honest, my first choice replies done correct.
We have a 1998 Chevy S10 for our business, Budget Auto Glass Discounters. We have changed the alternator 5 times in less than 20, 000 miles(3 remans & 2 new ones). We took an old alternator to Chris at Arties on Friday evening and he said he could rebuild it & have it ready by 11am Saturday morning, which he normally doesnt work. We think he saw the stress this was causing since we had been there before on one of the earlier alternators. Even with all of our years of automotive experience, we were starting to doubt our knowledge. We know personally as a small business owner, we get a lot of grief and very little gratefulness. Thanks Chris!!! You are great.
Very helpful and knowledgeable on everything I needed
I just got my 77 Fiat Spider back from Chris at Arties. When I brought it to him, it had a shorted ignition cylinder and several non-functioning electrical systems that had never worked in the time Ive owned the car. The previous owner thought he could wire an ignition cylinder. I was expecting a $5-800 job; thats the only area where Arties delivered *under* my expectations.I messed with it a little myself, banging my head against a wall, before calling a local classic car shop. They immediately referred me to Chris as soon as they heard the issues. Chris helped me arrange transportation, walked me through the timetable and expected costs, and solved the problems. Thats no small task; electrical repair is pretty much a lost art at this point.Couldnt be happier with the service and quality of repair; I gave him a hard one; a weird Italian roadster that hadnt been run in 6 months; Im sure he can handle whatever old or new issues you might be having, and Im sure youll be extremely happy with the service and pricing.
This guy is a con artist, go somewhere else.
