I volunteered there for a year helping to wheel residence to and from there room. So I walked around alot. People are really friendly there and the whole place is kept very neat and clean. I would recommend Sarah Neuman to anyone.

My experience was not with a member in the facility but with what I witnessed at a local eatery nearby.While eating for over an hour myself, along with other patrons, witnessed an private nurse aid with a patient. The patient was uncomfortable and trying to communicate but the aid felt that tiktok videos and being on the phone was more important to do on her paid time instead of entertain or assist the patient.Later my friend and I brought it to her attention that we thought this was negligent behavior. We asked the patient if he was okay and he gave us a straight no for a reaponse. He was uncomfortable, wasnt fed, kept kicking his shoes off, and was just being ignored.We repeatedly told her to take care of him and have some compassion. So we went to the actual facility and explained our situation to the front desk assistant, who honestly showed more concern than the actual manager we spoke with. The managers name was Sherly Mathew, who basically couldnt care less. She cut us off, asked no questions, and wouldnt even allow us to speak about the situation. Claiming she was a private nurse and not 1 of the facilities staff members and walled off.Horrendous. Horrible care. And this is coming from witnesses of this facility without family members there.

We had sent our mother there thinking that she will be in good hands. My mother fell more than once knowing that she is Prone to fall, after the fact she caught a staff infection which I knew it would become one and I told the doctors to clean it out. I’ve been calling the since my mother was in there for a doctor and a doctor never had responded until the fact that she had to go to at the hospital because her ankle was very bad And she had to get her leg amputated it was no physical therapy when she was sent to a different unit and I told them to have her walking because she’s diabetic. Please do not send your love ones there

My husband just came home. He was there for about 5 weeks he has bruises and scratches on his body. He fell twice and they denied the second one. It is terrible under C-19 you cant see how a person is being treated. He lost so much weight. I am so sad. I dont recommend this place. Like other have stated to reach someone to deal with a problem is impossible. After seeing him in person I am glad they said they reached the maximum with what they can accomplish with him i am so glad he is not there. .

They are the absolute worst...my mom was just there recently....we couldn’t visit because of COVID but when we took her for an offsite Doctors visit..We noticed she had a nasty cut on her ankle which led to her getting her leg amputated just above the knee.. Terrible Terrible place...Highly do not recommend putting a loved one in this place....Definitely need answers

Best nursing home ever. My grandmother loved it here even during last moments she felt more at home there then at her real home. Because of Joan Palmer on the second floor she had the best time. When I would visit Joan would be on her feet 24/7 trying to make all her residents satisfied. My grandmother admired Joan, thank you The new Jewish home for choosing your employees carefully.

My aunt was here for 2 years, she passed April 7, 2020She was in the dementia unit..2 nurses and 3 aides were exceptional.The patients are basically set up in a room and a hallway just sitting waiting for breakfast, lunch and dinner.It was posted weekly ALL the activities that were suppose to be available...99% were canceled for the exception of Janet who was so giving and faithful to all the patients, Janet is a God send.We visited every other day to make sure my Aunt was able to look out a window...drink more water or juice..converse whenever possible...etc..My cousin washed her moms clothes..cut her hair...took her to the bathroom because most times help was not available. As with any facility there needs to be more staff ESPECIALLY in the dementia units.If there was a CHOICE my aunt would not have been in this nursing home because the wait times at mostly all of them was 6 mos. to a year. Which was the case here but she had broken her hip 2 yrs ago so went from rehab unit to dementia unit without a problem.I wish things could have been different..

Why so many negative reviews and nothing being done?

The staff is horrible they put on a great show for the second floor but the first floor and after hours is a whole new world. They don’t treat their patients with dignity or with compassion. They’re very mean and will allow your loved ones to sit in their own poop all day and night. They laugh at the residents problems and close doors on them when they are asking for help. This place needs to be shut down

One of the most attentive and clean Nursing home Rehabs that I have been to as a patient.I was on the Rehab on the Weinberg Unit for 3 weeks where I received exceptional Nursing, Physical and Occupational therapy as well as nurturing care from the Aides and my treatment team.In addition, I was never bored due to the multitude of Recreational activities such as painting class, movies, BINGO and Pet therapy with Hannah, just to name a few!I would definitely recommend this facility to friends and family! :-)

My family has had a very positive experience with Sarah Neuman. The entire staff is attentive to my mothers needs and responsive to both her and her familys requests. She receives a high level of care, and we have been consistently impressed with the way Sarah Neuman has handled a variety of health challenges that arose over the past couple of years. Based on our experience, we have a great deal of faith in Sarah Neuman, its staff and its leadership.

When first visiting maybe 2 nurses were nice, the rest were unprofessional. I would call several times in a day to check on my family no one would pick up. They seem to only care about themselves vs the patient. I recommend visiting your loved many times to stay on top of things. Or keep them home with you where they would better care. My family member has fallen numerous times there. So disappointed with these staff. Communication was bad. They didnt even call to tell me he died. Horrible experience hope to never see this staff again since my love one has passed away. He is better hands with God now!

My mom was a resident at Sarah Neuman Jewish Home in Westchester from December 2015 through October 2017. The accommodations were clean, the meals were cooked very well, and if she needed special meals they always accommodated that as needed. The aids were extremely pleasant and friendly, and they took care of my mom as if she was their own mom. The nursing care was always there for her if she ever felt especially sick. Overall, I would highly recommend Sarah Neuman.

Disgusting, filthy and dirty. Nurses don’t care and are rude if you can even find one. Any time we looked for a nurse we were told they were on a break. An absolute horror show!! This place did more damage than good, keep your loved ones away!! The state should step in and shut this place down!!

Best nursing home if more than 15 i met with. Take good care of patients. Very clean and well maintained

I’m having mixed feelings ...One of the staff is awesome but the others don’t care......... There sitting on their phones texting or on Social Media & I had to take my mom to the bathroom!!!!!!!!!! #Really. The staff telling me let her go in her diaper 😡😡😡😡😡 My can go most times to the bathroom she needs help to walk ....The reason why I’m sharing is because maybe there staff will step up & get a night time superviser ....Because the place is nice it’s the night staff is horrible... The first time she was there some of her personal items were stolen ....I reported it & they told me they will look into to it ... All you here is room alarms going off & their on their cell phones ..... Step Up Management Because Staff Like That Is Going To Ruin Such A Good Reputation That You Have... Under Staffed & Need Attitude Adjustments...

Worst nursing home. My mother was there for 3 months and she always soaking wet. The Management dont care about their staffs are patients. its always short staffs, nasty food and the place was dirty nobody clean my mother room. so I take my mother out an find somewhere and better and clean environment. I would never recommendanyone there

My grandma wasn’t being treated well at this place. The only way to get her pain medicine was to CRY! Then the friking nurses would go and give them to her. I’d rather have my grandmother stay at home then here. The place might be huge, but they need to change things and get serious and actually think about the patients.

Worst place. You cant get thru the telephone to speak to a nurse or receive a call back to save your life. the most you get is the operators and they get annoyed when you call back consistently to get someone on the phone but they dont know about the call outcome when they transfer so I understand them. Thank god for an operator named Susan who was able to get me a nurse supervisor yesterday after 10 phone call attempts with being on hold more than 10 minutes. They can pull phone logs and see for themselves boy I wonder if the owner cared how would they handle that. My mom was left in poop and pi and under meds that she couldnt walk talk eat or anything just a vegetable for 3 days after she was transported there. After finally raising chaos yesterday i finally got a nurse supervisor on the phone and she did her job and checked my mom with a Dr and realized my moms state was not good duh if you guys would have picked the phone up 2 days ago or regularly they wouldve known if they attended patients with care and not just as a job they would have known she wasnt good after her 2nd day there. My mom went from talking normal and eating to be moved to a facility that kept her as a vegetable from the first day. Had I not made chaos I would have found my mom brain dead. When they transported her to the hospital she was borderline in coma because jewish families lol failed to do followups, blood tests, care for their patients as they should etc... Thank god for sloan kettering shes talking today and being treated for the issues at hand which jewish families failed to acknowledge or find remedies for. Some push patients around cause it was witnessed. Beware if you really love your family member stay on top of Drs nurses dietary all of it now in days some people just do it as a job with no care. THIS GREAT NURSING HOME REHAB FAILED MY MOM AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY OTHERS THAT ARE BLIND TO SEE. I DO THANK JOVITA THE NURSE SUPERVISOR FOR SHE HANDLED MY CONCERN PROMPTLY. I THANK SUSAN FOR ASSISTING ME THRU MY CALLS FOR SHE REMAINED PROFESSIONAL AND ASSISTED. CALVIN BEWARE HES A NURSE OR WHATEVER HE IS AND DOESNT CARE AND WHAT NURSE HANGS UP ON A CONCERNED FAMILY MEMBER. SMH THE REST OF THE CREW UGHHH ... HEY NURSE CAN U HELP CHANGE THIS PATIENT ... NURSE RESPONSE IM TOO BUSY... YEA OKAY.... EVERYONE WATCH OUTTTT MEDS IS THEIR ANSWER UNTIL THE NEXT ROUND OF MEDS . TRUST AND BELIEVE THOUGH GOD IS GOOD!!! GOD IS THE DR NOMATTER WHO OR WHAT MEDS FAIL ALWAYS BELIEVE AND WATCH OUT!!!! FRIENDLINESS AND CLEANLINESS DOESNT OUTWEIGH CARING FOR SOMEONE PROPERLY!!!

For what the government is paying for on a daily/monthly basis the service is very poor. I have witnessed and reported an aide striking a patient. My mothers personal items have been stolen at night. Most recently on my Mothers floor, a big screen television broke and has not been replaced in more then two weeks. If my family was not paying for a private aide, I think my mother would have died soon after arriving at the home.

Staff are attentive. The grounds are beautiful!

I would like to commend all the staff at Sarah Neuman Center, especially Catherine Pelle, Adelaide, Daunette, Kathleen K., and Dr. Wang, for the professional and compassionate care they have given my mother since January, 2016. With each new problem that has arisen, Ms. Pelle and the team have been patient, sympathetic, and resourceful in reporting and attempting to solve the issue. I am thankful to be working with such devoted and knowledgeable staff.

The worst in care. Terrible staff and uncaring CNAs. Poor Dr access for the residents. Look at the Board of Health ratings. I believe SN lost a star. Never send a loved one to this place.
