Not reliable. I was charged for tire puncture repair even if there was no tire puncture. I was told there was a screw once and second time they told there was a nail. But actually it is problem with software which displays tire pressure low in my honda crv.

I went there to do my oil changed and ask to see the CV joint. After while they appear at me, they told me a lot of problems in my car, which was not. I was said that it would be around $2000 to work on my Car. They were looking online every thing and they gave me a estimate report. But when I see online everything cost around $300-$350. Worst place to go in each & every Midas. They are the $$$$$ Suckers

My engine light kept going on and off then it stopped but as soon as i went in for inspection it failed, they explained in detail what was causing the problem my jaw dropped. They even explained everything to my son he understood more of what they were saying, although I was without a vehicle for 3 days everything was done with much professional care and they let you know whats under warranty im very pleased with driving my car now.. I feel that when you take your car to Midas in Malden let them know actually whats happening before they start any work theyll contact you know of any other problems youre having that may be causing the problem that already exist, Thanks Midas And Others For Your Professionalism..

I am a single father of one and I went in there on a Wednesday because my car had an alternator issue Which I was quoted to pay $750 with labor included. I did not have the funds right away and I told him that I would be getting paid this Friday so please perform the job so that I may be able to pick it up when I get paid on Friday coming from somebody who lives paycheck to paycheck they said fine. So I go in there today this morning on Friday The 19th to pick up my car with the same amount of money that they quoted me on. I get there around 7:30 in the morning and a gentleman by the name of Jim who is the manager let me in. I then told him that his associate manager Connor handled all the paperwork and told me to come pick it up and everything would be fine. Jim just called me on a amount of $850 of that sort which was crazy in my eyes and then how do I audacity to tell me that I would not have a warranty on a $600 alternator that I just purchased from Midas. I have been shopping all of my life with different companies and different vendors I have never heard of a policy like this in my entire life. Then after getting my car checked a week prior the associate manager Connor says I have a oil leak that is leaking into the alternator which he encouraged me to have it fixed by zoom for extra $500 which I could not afford. Now since I denied the extra job I’m hearing that I don’t have a warranty on this alternator that I just purchased. I pick up my car I drive down the block only to have my car stalled out and sitting there in the middle of the road after they told me I had no warranty. I am courage you people please do not go to Midas this was clearly a robbery they took my money and did not perform the work that was supposed to be performed. I’m not even sure if they even changed the alternator to be honest. Times like this everything is hard in life and people you do not need mitis to make it any harder. I am extremely disgusted with this I am going to bring legal action into this and I will not stop until this is resolved.I repeat do not go to Midas in Malden I repeat do not go to Midas in Malden you will be robbed.

Dave and Cody and Lam are top-notch! I used to think of Midas as more of a chain, but they really create the experience of a great local mechanic. The same people have been there for years and they work well as a team with excellent communication. I recommend them all the time to friends and family. They usually come in lower than they quote on jobs and go out of their way to explain the work that was done. Nice people, efficient systems and quality work.

In the world of wheels, I have always believed that the cardinal sin of any mechanic is to ruin the car worse than what it was when you brought it in.Midas in Malden does not fit that belief.After going to many mechanics that couldnt be bothered to service my 1990 Cadillac Coupe DeVille accordingly, (despite boasting how they can service any car-new and old), Midas in Malden, specifically Mr. David, Cody and Lan, treated me with respect, honesty, professionalism and accurate accountability for all that they do there. I was very pleased with the service and care provided to my car.I will definitely be going back to them, as they have earned a customer and an outstanding clientele for future services to come.Thank you again, Midas and the gang!-M.D.M.

I would give 0 star if I could. I went there for mechanical check before buying a used car. They just gave me a very unclear feedback. They said nothing is leaking. I believed their word and bought that car. Then I found the coolant is leaking! Thats crazy. This really matters because I could get engine overheat and thats very dangerous. I doubt that they didnt check the leaking at all! They charged me over $70 but did nothing! I would never comeback anymore. If you want to throw your money here, go ahead. You will not get your problem fixed and the only thing you get will be a lie!!!

The manager of this store is just horrible. I went to this Midas store to mount a tire. I knew that my front brake discs are not perfectly flat and I ask the manager whether they can help me take a look at my front discs. He quoted me $68 for brake evaluation saying I don’t need to pay for it if there is no problem.While replacing the tire, I discussed with the mechanic (Matt) about the discs. Matt told me that the front discs still have at least 2/3 each. They may just not in perfect shapes, but I definitely do not need to change any of them. Also they don’t have the machine in store to polish the discs. So we decided to just skip the evaluation part.I was told in advance that if no need to repair anything, there will be no charge for a simple check. While checking out, the store manager lying in front of my face and proposed to replace 2 front disk brakes at a cost of $400. I declined. Then the store manager charged me $68 for checking the brakes (Matt merely took a brief look, and no testing was done at all). The manager said since I refused their proposal, they will charge me the $68 brake evaluation fee. This is totally a RIP-OFF. That guy had my key in his hand, and I do not want to argue with him anymore. I feel threatened at last and I have no choice but pay the money and leave this place.The mechanic Matt is very kind and helpful. But the manager is just ridiculously ignorant. I think I will file a consumer complaint against the manager.

My State Inspection feedback at Midas, 65 Commercial St, Malden, MA 02148:My Very first visit & I see a very HONEST people and very determined to SCAM their customers as they charged me extra $170 after an Inspection time for just changing the parking bulb lights ($30) which actually cost $2.30 and charged me $140 for aim headlights which usually cost $60 to $80 with labor in average. But If I dont change it then they said theyre going to reject/ fail the inspection. Hence Im encouraging people to go there for State Inspection and get a real experience with your own risk and good luck.

I bought a used car not too long ago and brought it in for a tire rotation.The mechanic allowed me to take a look underneath the car which I hadnt done, and it was a rusted mess. After pointing out the work that was necessary, I was quoted on the parts and labor and told theyd need the weekend to finish the work. The next day, the work was finished and the pieces of the undercarriage that were salvageable were fixed. Upon getting the bill, it was lower than the original quote.The team was professional, cordial, and did great work keeping me I formed throughout the process. I will definitely be using them as my go to spot.

I recently went in to have my jeep quoted for a few things that needed to be fixed. Upon picking my car up because I was not happy with the $900 over quoted price everywhere else. My Jeep was left in the parking lot with the windows rolled down and the keys left in the ignition.. not only was that beyond not okay seeing as how anyone could have gotten in the car, I was on my way home and had to pull over on the interstate to close my hood because they failed to close and latch it correctly. I don’t typically write reviews but I think it’s important that other future possible customers know how poor of service they are going to receive

Raphael did a repair on my car to fix a pretty large exhaust leak. He showed me exactly what was wrong and then the repairs he did. The work was done in a timely manner for a fair price. No one likes having to pay for car repairs but Id definitely recommend this Midas!

Cody helped me with servicing my ‘19 Accord. Awesome service, extremely knowledgeable and judgement free! Definitely doing my maintenance here instead of Honda!

We have never had a problem making an appointment with him. I recommend them 100%. They stand by their work. They would put the wrong oil in my car and tell me that it is the right one while sticker clearly says different‼️ Most of their deals are overpriced, and they would tell you that you need what you really don’t just to make extra money ( they tried to get me on a brake job, saying it would cost 500 something, and i needed new calipers while my calipers were fine)‼️You would put an early appointment on the phone with them and when you get there, they deny you and prioritize other people‼️ Im not sure about another Midas, but i would not recommend the one in Malden‼️‼️‼️

To level set: as a 30-something, Ive seen Midas advertisements my whole life and never even considered using them. But the need arose and they were the option I chose. Very glad I did. The people were kind, fun, and helpful. A great start. They followed up with a reasonable price and quick service. I would honestly go out of my way to go back to this Midas.

Came in near closing time, with only one person left working at the location. Cody was super helpful and friendly, which I appreciated. And he helped me with the oil change. He also pointed out that I’m overdue for a state inspection which saved me cuz I forgot about it. For someone who feels nervous and unfamiliar with getting car stuff done, he made it an un intimidating experience. Give this dude a raise @manager

Insulted me because I only wanted an oil change and not the recommended repairs they have offered me in the past. Also I made an appointment, I was not seen on time without acknowledgment that I have been waiting over 20mins. Ended up leaving. To be fair, have gone here and gotten good service in the past. Will not be going back.

I was an oil change walk in at 8:30a. Isaiah at the front desk was cheerful and personable, and he went above and beyond to get my work done quickly. He told me (not dutifully, but authentically) that if he won a billion dollar Powerball, he would still be working there because he has fun at work every day. I was out the door by 9:30a.

The service here was quick, courteous, and straight to the point. Excellent place!

Got my brakes serviced here and came out a little more expensive than I thought but the convenience was worth it. Only took 3 hours for something that would have taken me an entire day. I would recommend for anyone who doesnt have much time and knowledge in repairing cars

Gave my fiances. car a 600.00 brake job when all they had to do was remove a stone that got caught up on the inside wheel dust cover. The brakes were fine, I diagnosed the problem myself since I have 20 yrs experience at AAA but didnt have time to fix the problem. Total rip off.

I called and as busy as they were they said to come in and they fixed my muffler in a few hours. Great customer service Raphael took very good care of me. I will definitively use them again..

Ok I never thought I would give a place like this that fixes cars 5 stars...well an Angel works here by the name of Rafael Hernandez! I’ll explainMy car out of nowhere just started sounding like the muffler came off... it was SO LOUD!! I passed by Midas and thought about it and turned around and went in... I didn’t want to get stopped because of the noise so I was hoping they could patch it until I got home... they were busy and I was told they were very busy and to come back the next day .... sadly I was walking back to my car and Raphael called me over and said what’s wrong with your car? I told him and he went right over to check it out.... then he took it in the garage and fixed it and saved m a fortune! It was so much less than I thought and he explained everything he did to me!He is now going to be “My Mechanic!!” Honest great worker who explains everything and a patient kind man! Raphael THANK YOU YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!

I usually go to Mono Muffler and Brakes but they were swamped today and asked me to come back tomorrow so I brought my car here at Midas. What a great decision! I was able to get my brakes and calipers replaced with them beating Monros price based on a Monro receipt from a year ago! Even better they were able to do it in less than two hours so I can go to work without squeaky brakes, safely tomorrow.

Came to Midas here in Malden, walked in and Isaiah had a great warm welcome even though there were about 4 people waiting and 1 customer being a burden. He understood everything I needed to get done even though autozone was being a pain and got his orders all screwed up He kept everyone calm. It look like things could of turned south for him but he had everything under control within 3 and a half hours he had everyone out the door with no complaints and also stayed late to get my brake hose fixed. Great customer service they will def get you fixed up patched up making your car brand spanking new.

I must say Midas here in Malden is absolutely AMAZING!!! The price i paid for my breaks to be done was such a savings, not to mention the mechanic Ray did such an outstanding job, my car feels good as new!! THANK YOU MIDAS!!!

Garbage place. Gave me an appointment for 1130 and then when I got there told me they’d added more stuff so that wouldn’t work. When I explained I had another appointment they were not accommodating.

My car muffler was broken and I went to Midas Malden .Its was a little job, even not took 30 minutes .They charged me $199.00 labor and 69.95 for part and tax .Its not fair. I mean who get paid $200 per half hour. Funny isnt it.Better go to somewhere else or even dealership wouldnt charge that kind of labor.I am not happy with the money they charge.Will never go there again .

Horrible! Called and asked about part availability. Told to drive over, part definitely available.Arrived and they claim they dont have it in stock. Computer error. And they were rude about it too.Consider hiring people with some knowledge about cars.

I called to schedual an appointment for a catalist converter installation he said will cost me $150.when i went there he said what type of engine oil you putting today he even forgot what am there for and when i told him he said the person is not here and he asked me to come back next day .i went next day and same thing again the person is not there and he had to pass the job to somone else witch doesnt do catalyst .and he said that i have a crack in the manifold wich may cost up to $1100 .i had to leave and i went to my friends mechanic witch installed the catalist in a very shirt time and Professionaly and even let me watch while he is doing it for $100.he said the manifold is in good conditions no crack or so at all .now i let you judge what you think .

Brought my car in for a flat repair but was told it couldnt be done because the tire was too worn, which i knew wasnt the case. They recommeded for me to take advantage of their buy 3 get 1 free tire deal to replace all 4 tires instead. Ended up taking my car to another shop and got my tire patched without issue. Oh, and my tire treads measured 6/32 (front 2) and 8/32 (back 2). Not even CLOSE to needing replacement. Come to think of it this Midas didnt even ask which tire needed repair when i dropped it off. I had to tell them after realizing they hadnt asked. Maybe they were already set on selling me on 4 new tires before even taking a look.

Today I was in Midas for my Toyota Prius brake repair and the guy call Isaiah is super nice and he helped me to understand the problem of the car, they fixed it, now I am hoping for its good repair and goes long.

I requested an appointment for today last night via their website. I got an email this morning from David telling me they were booked solid, but he could schedule one for Thursday.I asked if there was any way he could squeeze me in for an oil change as my pregnant daughter would be traveling with my car tomorrow, and I was way over due for the oil change.He emailed back sayinf to bring it in.I out of there faster than I imagine I would be.And were it was my 5th visit ...it was free! Wohoo.thank you David!

Claimed he he wasnt going to be able to do my brakes because the caliper was seized and said if something broke while trying to fix the caliper, hed be responsible. I asked if I could sign a waver or something freeing him of any liability and he still said no.I brought my car to another shop and the mechanic fixed the caliper with no problems.. Midas might want to invest in better technicians.3 stars since he didnt charge me for diagnostics.

Had good luck with this location. Fixed my brakes for an ok price. They have wifi so I was able to do work while waiting, the day wasnt a total loss. The guy behind the counter was very nice. I would recommend!

Went to get an oil change and tire rotation with a groupon. Staff was very friendly and office really clean for an auto shop and not the usual cluttered mess you get at you neighborhood garage. Comp tea, coffee and soft drinks in the lobby. I was told it would take about one hour and I was able to drive right out in 55 minutes. They also did a comp safety check and best of all they were very honest and did not try to sell me anything that was not necessary. They said I needed new wheel caps but agreed it was just cosmetic and not necessary and even recommended I could get them way cheaper at Autozone than at their own store.

I checked my car in this shop. They told me to change my brakes. I checked in another shop and it seems that I still have 70 percent left. It is a shop without any honesty.

Rafael Hernandez, the Shop Manager was super helpful and a real lifesaver.I got a flat tire in Stoneham and by the time I managed to get the spare on, it was already 6:30pm.I do not live nearby, and so I started calling nearby stores to try and find a time to replace my flat. Midas in Malden was the sixth store I called, but they were the only store that was still open and had my replacement tire in stock.It was a little more pricy than I would have liked, but beggers cant be choosers, and I was too far from home to trust the spare till tomorrow.Rafael was so sweet, even though they still had a full bay of repairs to complete that evening, he still managed to help me get the new tire on the rim and mounted on the car.Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity helping out someone in need!

Junk place, I just bought a new car for a year and let me change the tires

I had my car dropped off for an oil change 2013 Nissan Sentra and was told 2011 and up require full synthetic oil. Which normally a sports car would require. I called a Nissan dealership and was told they do not even use synthetic. Therefore, I was lied to. Now if I had not know any better I wouldve been overcharged about $35. I called for a quote for brakes in the past and they charge twice as much as anywhere else! BEWARE!

I waited for more than 3 hours to change my car oil, even though I had scheduled it.

MAKE SURE THEY UPDATE THE COST OF SERVICE-Once I saw the price for Midas I called several people to tell them the cost, which was absurd, but the guy at the counter, hearing me complain, had to re-calculate the payment because he said THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY OVERCHARGESWent in at the end of Nov for problems with my heating and cooling system. Midas told me they repaired and replaced my thermostat housing and gauges. System was still not working and had to take it to my mechanic several times since. Turns out that the mechanic at Midas never repaired or replaced anything! They just cleaned the outside of the part so it looked new and sprayed some sealant in the system to stop any leaks, but that only caused more leaks in other parts of my car and caused my car to overheat. I almost blew my engine, and could have been severely hurt because of the shotty work they did there.DO NOT GO

Last week went to this center to fix couple of dashboard lights of my car - srs and check engine. They fixed my srs and reset my check engine light. For this much only they charged $150!!! and moreover, they recommended me hell lot of other things to be replaced from my car, estimated nearly $1500 !!I just dont digest that they charged me so much just for a checkup...I checked with autozone, they do this sort of checking for free !! I am just now freaking out of this, I wish I would have never visit this center...

Very helpful with honest opinions

I had a oil gasket and steering belts replaced plus an oil change. It cost me around $700. Less than a month later my car is still making the same noises as if the steering belts are still cracked and my coolant and oil are really low. I dont think they ever did the oil change but they certainly charged me for it. I dont trust these guys and wont be going back.

Very disappointed with the customer service. We were told the vehicle was to be ready at 2 oclock and when I arrived at 2:30 I was told that it was going to be another hour. I never received a phone call with a heads up with the change. I should have anticipated this after reading the other reviews.
