Yeah, THAT barber shop! Dont fret another second over how you gonna look for that hot date Friday night, cause the crew at the Atwood Barber Shop got you covered!!! What? Got your hood up? Post up a hot minute, and get your wooshy on!!!

Neighborhood barbershop with a whole lot of conversation and a little bit of wait. No reservations, but I was there in the middle of a weekday afternoon and only waited 20 minutes. Its cash only and theres a handy ATM right there. Park on Division Street. A mens haircut is $27, which is less than most salons in town. The Barbershop chain is cheaper but you get what you pay for. Got the cut I asked for, after not having a cut for over a year. Ill definitely be back.

Started coming to Atwood mid 2017 and I haven’t gone anywhere since! Friendly,clean environment great barbers and I leave every time more than satisfied with my cut from shae.

Don’t waste your time, you will wait for hours for a hair cut. Very very dirty and don’t even ask to use the bathroom and can you believe there is no sink with soap to wash your hands. Money talks here, if your willing to pay extra you can cut the line of people waiting hours. Very unsanitary to save a couple dollars they reuse there straight blades until they are dull and I have watched them not even clean or spray the razor blade off between cuts. when I asked why they did that he wanted me to pay extra to have him change the blade. Also I asked for the WiFi password and they made me sweep the hair off the floor to get the password and the reason he said was nothing for free.

Great haircut. Main problem? No Masks. Everyone should be wearing a mask. Conflicted, we will be going to Cost cutters even though they upd their prices. Safety first. Children are our future.

If you are a person of color living in Madison and you dont get your haircut from here, I bet your hair is a mess. I get out of Atwood Barber Shop feeling more beautiful than I felt when I walked in. There usually is a long wait, which is not great, but your haircut will be worth the wait. Youll walk out of there feeling transformed.

Took my son to get his hair cur, not too hard, its curly on top so needex back and sides faded. Its the choppyest haircut ever. Halfway thru it he cut a piece n we hear him giggling like he just messed up n laughed about it. Will never go bk n wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!! I coulda done a better job but im not the professional.

Went here a while ago a month before a wedding. I asked for a fade and 2 inches off the top. He ended up cutting the top of my hair with a number 2 guard (1/4 inch). So I went from having 8 inches of hair to 1/4 inch. Havent been back since.

Not a good experience at all. I waited around for an hour while numerous people who came in after me got their haircut when they claimed they were only doing walk-ins. I will not be back and I will not be recommending this place to any friends and family.

Average barber shop. Expect a long wait since they dont accept appointments. Barbers are decent, not the best but not the worst either. Usually anyone that loves it here hasnt had a quality haircut in their life. I travel to the other side of town for my barber now which is worth it since they charge same price but I get a lot more out of my new barber Xavier. I would recommend coming here as soon as they open if your looking to get a haircut without waiting

I have no idea why this place is popular. Ive been going for about 7 months (I didnt switch because I was too lazy to find a barber), but after my last trip I had to say screw it and say Im done!. The experience you get is horribly mediocre - passable haircuts, usually at least 1.5 hour waits, and a constant feeling that other regulars are favored over newer customers. Ive gone many times and felt like people who came in after me get seated before me. The price just isnt low enough to make up for waiting that long (they raised the price to $20). On my last trip, I left work at 3:30, got there at 4:00, and ended up waiting until 6:40 for a haircut. This was on a thursday afternoon. God forbid you go on a weekend. It seems the only way to have a reasonable wait is to not have a job and show up in the afternoon. Anyways, I dont see what other people see in this place. Ive gone to plenty of better barbershops without waits with better prices, and came to Atwood first because Im new to Madison. I know that Madison has better, and you all should too.

Ever since moving to Madison from California 7yrs ago I have been barber to barber. After stopping in at Atwood I can honestly now say Ive found my new barber. Terry was great to work with a its definitely worth the wait. I feel that the price was more than fair for the end result. Also found out that a few of my friends go there and get their hair cut there too! Great place and will gladly send everyone I know there to get their hair cut. Thanks for the great experience and great haircut!

My grandson loves this place. Its always crowded though. Parking is limited to the side streets. And one small lot adjacent to it.

Ive been looking for a neighborhood barbershop for some time, and just happened to walk past this place--they werent listed in Google yet.I went in on a Friday and enjoyed waiting for a chair to open, listening to the barbers chatting with customers. I look forward to going back (repeatedly) and getting to know people better in the neighborhood. Since they were yet listed in Google, I added them. I hope it helps others find them!

I have Been getting a haircut at the Atwood barber shop for almost four years. All of the barbers are very talented and experienced professionals but most of all consistent and hard working as they diligently work through the waiting customers you can always count on the staff to work you in. Respectable clean establishment that gives back to the community. One of the thing I can appreciate is how they provided kids with free haircuts as well as back packs and schools supplies for unfortunate familys at the beginning of the school year always willing to support that type of establishment.

Came in on June 28th which was my birthday to get a fresh cut. Also has my cousins bachelor party was the next day then was going to Florida to see my lady . Not only did it take a hour I got the most trash haircut Ive ever had in my life honestly wish I wouldve cut it myself. Will never be back .

Very poorly managed, I have never heard of a barber shop that doesn’t make appointments, it appears that none of the gentlemen show any courtesy to clean a bit. All the cuts look unfinished, sloppy, and it’s 25+ for a 15 dollar cut doesn’t make sense at all #Amateurhour

This place is a staple on the east side of Madison. I go see Terry or Aj and they always have me looking right.

I glad I saw a lady whos afro was llaid every time I saw her so I asked her who was her barber and she said Atwood barbershop, I went and was disappointed very good service reasonably priced and friendly atmosphere feel like home my home town barber shop!

Unprofessional staff. Barbers constantly using profanity and racial slurs while young children were present. Pitiful display. Prices were ridiculous. Ill spend my money elsewhere and wont recommend.

Was just looking to find a great quality barbershop when I found this place, the quality of the haircut was very good, my only issue was that I was waiting for about an hour and a half to get my haircut and people who had walked in well after me were being seated before I was. The barbers there are quite friendly and take pride in their work.

Best place to get streets fades in my opinion. Barbers actually take the time to make your hair the way you want it.No appointments, just walk in.Go early since this place gets packed with waits to about 30 minutes to 2 hours.

The wait is long but the cuts are worth it. I just plan ahead.

Me and my boi went here for our fades the morning of our bhangra competition, ADZ at UW madison . These guys know what they are doing. We got the sickest fades ever and two weeks later still get compliments. These fades were the confidence boost we needed morning of the comp, and guess what... we won first place.

Disappointed in the shop because it is not organized. Wait times are an hour or two.And the barber doesnt focus on the quality of the cut, they do a half assed job so they can get to the next customer.I only been there twice. The first time i went terry cut my hair and it was sort of what i wanted.I came back two weeks later and again got my hair cut from terry and he did an awful job.It was not an even or precise shape up and he took my front hairline back too far. I dont think i would ever go there again and if i do i will not sit in terrys seat.

You will get a clean, quality haircut in a typical barber shop setting. Same cost if not less than your chain stores. However, unlike the chains, you walk out feeling good not like someone molested your hair/head.
