I have been going to Wrights for many years and have brought several cars in for repairs over the years. Tom is wonderful, very kind, good at explaining car repairs to people who dont know much about cars, and is very trustworthy and honest. Once he refused to take my money to repair my car and told me Id be better off saving my money to buy a newer car that would be more reliable. On several occasions he has shown me the broken part he replaced on my car, which I think is good for transparency and building trust. They can get busy sometimes and it can be tough to get through over the phone, but it is worth the effort and time. They do good work for a reasonable price and will not recommend unnecessary repairs.

I asked them to check my front suspension and brakes because of a weird squeaking noise. I think I even specifically asked if it could be the lower ball joint (common issue with my car). They:1) Broke my lock nut key and charged me for new lug nuts2) Charged me $100 to check my brakes and tell me it was just a noise and reassured me that there were no safety concerns3) Called me to provide an update, then kept me on the phone for 20 minutes while they had an inaudible conversation about my car in the background. Why call if you dont actually have an update yet?Lo and behold, a few weeks later my ball joint went out (see picture). Multiple reputable sources told me the squeaking noise was actually a warning sign of this problem, despite what the mechanic said. This is VERY dangerous, and I am angry that I tried to take steps to prevent it and was reassured by professionals that there was nothing wrong.

Tom is a great man. I called him on my lunch break with a flat tire. He let me come in after I was done working and fixed it. Very nice and professional, and inexpensive. I would recommend this business to anyone needing car repairs.

Best repair shop experience I have had in years. I had a a large vehicle with a lot of rust on it. The first place I brought it didnt want to even attempt to work on it. Very honest, they reset my engine light before fixing the issue it indicated to make sure it really needed to be fixed. Its been about a month and the light hasnt come back on. Im so grateful to have found a trustworthy mechanic!

I called Wrights last weekend when my car was experiencing a coolant leak. He wasnt able to get to it right away, but allowed me to have my car towed there until he could get started on it. My car repair was taken care of by the following afternoon, and knowing that I have some other minor things going on, I was pleased that Wrights didnt try to convince me I needed additional work done, like other shops have done in the past.There was a minor inconvenience caused by how my vehicle was put back together, but Wrights apologized sincerely for it and compensated me without hesitation!!!Honest work at a fair price, I would gladly come back here and would highly recommend this shop to anyone!

Went in to get my brakes fixed. They were very flexible, completed the fix in a timely manner, and the cost was much more reasonable than the estimate that I got from a commercial auto repair shop.

Wright’s is not only very fairly priced, and a family-run business, but I always trust them 100% when they tell me something needs fixed! When they could have easily charged us for things we took our car in for, they have encouraged us to wait on getting some things fixed because the part had plenty of time left on it. It’s a good and honest business and when we can help it, we don’t go anywhere else!!

Stellar service by the gentlemen here. They got my car in on a Saturday and stayed late to get the work needed on my car done. They wont nickle and dime you for small inspections and engine code checks either. The prices are fair for the service and they will go over everything they worked on and inspected step by step. Weve been taking our vehicles to Wrights for about 13 years. Tom and his mechanics are top notch. On one occasion I had a problem return that they had previously fixed. They replaced the part under warranty and didnt even charge labor. Thats the kind of customer service Ive come to expect and receive at Wrights. It also doesnt hurt that hes typically 1/2 - 2/3 the price of the dealership. Congrats on your many years of running such a successful business!

Came here very briefly to help a friend drop off their car. The owner stayed after normal hours to make sure it was delivered properly, was very polite and helpful, and after the inspection told my friend that there was nothing wrong (just quirky sensors) and we didnt need any real repairs. Very, very good customer service. Could not be happier.

I am new to Madison and have always had my guy to fix my car back in PA. When I moved here I was super uneasy about not having someone to turn to when my 240,000+ mile car has a problem. A friend recommended me to Tom when I was having some battery issues recently. Tom was really nice, walked me thru the issue and even saved the parts to show me what was wrong. He also found a way to make it cheaper for me by finding an alternative part! I HIGHLY recommend going to Wrights Auto. I felt so taken care of and am happy I found my guy in WI now.

All of them went out of their way to help me! Basically coasted into their parking lot and they were absolutely busy. The owner went and hooked a code reader up to my car to see what was going on and they immediately started calling around looking for the part. Got the part in the very same day and the owner stayed late so he could finish my car! They were straightforward with me the whole time! None of the well it could be this and we may have to fix this also it was no it is one part and that is all we need to fix. Briteni in the office was extremely friendly and welcoming to us as we sat in there for nearly an hour. I would recommend them to everyone! They are an honest family owned and run business.

Wrights Auto Service well exceeded my expectations and impressed me with their service. They charged me a fair price for the work that was required for the vehicle, were able to get the repair done in a timely fashion (the same day as I dropped off the vehicle), and were even willing to allow me to pick up my vehicle well after they had closed for the day. I will definitely look to use Wrights Auto Service for all my future auto repairs.

Fair prices and honest mechanic. Had two specific issues with my car. Mechanic didnt pressure me into fixing other things. He also fixed a minor problem with my wipers, which I was not charged for. Some slight communication issues, but they called a few times to make sure I got their message. I went on vacation, they were fine with me dropping my car off for a week. Will totally go back next time my car needs fixing.

I needed a shop for an urgent repair, turned to Google to find one and selected Wrights Auto Services based on the positive reviews. The reviews were spot on, I couldnt be happier with the service. Tom went above and beyond. Very friendly, honest, and happy to explain in detail the problem and solution. The repair cost was very reasonable and very timely. While I waited I had a friendly chat with Toms mother and learned this has been a proud family business for over 50 years.

They called very promptly, showed me the parts they replaced on my car when I went to pick it up, explained why it had to be replaced, and gave me a receipt with the exact info of what they did for my records. Great mechanic.

We love, love, LOVE Tom and his team at Wrights Auto. We recommend him to everyone, and we have been taking our vehicles to him for 6 years +. The mechanics are wonderful, the lot is always full and they are so reasonably priced, so fair and so honest. We always ask what if we dont do this now, or ever? And they are always so accommodating to our balance between cost and reliable service. We have had a 2001 VW Passat, a 2004 Toyota Sienna and a 2010 Toyota Sienna serviced here. Excellent service, good turn around time, good cost and quality work.

Got in for scheduled oil change at 10am, still in here at 1 pm. unbelievablely slow. cake on the desk went bad. One bit and I am sure about that. interesting wall decorations in the waiting room. finally waited 3 hour to get it done. longer than expected. could have told me to come back later or made it faster since I was waiting.

So grateful that they were able to fit me in today after my car died. Not only were they helpful, but they were able to get my car running again. Great experience today.

Voted worst place in Madison for the customer service, business ethics, and repair quality by me. Congratulations!!! They will over charge you from the beginning. Install the part incorrectly have it break again less then a month later from poor installation. Say its covered under warranty then charge you a 2nd time for labor n hold your car until you pay. There are 100s of other places around that will do the job right and for half the price. Yes your welcome for saving you the time and money by advising anyone reading this to move on to the next repair shop this one is GARBAGE!
