Needed a State Inspection, day of. Called and was told we had to be there before 5pm. We made it with 1 minute to spare and they got us right in. Watched them do the inspection. In and out in about 20 minutes. It was great. Even chit chatted with an employee about the aerial photos of the place they had on the wall. Clean lobby. Friendly staff. Prompt inspection. For the first time in many years I left the mechanic shop feeling great. Brett the service manager is awesome. I had just left Lynchburg for a trip to eastern Virginia when a low tire light came on. Oh boy, what to do. Heading toward 460 E I decided to stop in Madison Heights and look for help. I saw a Meineke ahead. All workers were gone to lunch, I was kindly told. I explained my travel situation, and could another place be suggested. One moment please. Then the owner of the place, Barrie Buck, came from his office and desired to help someone in need. He was very thorough, making sure all was well before I began traveling again. No charge. I took my 2005 Grand Cherokee in for intermittent starting issues and informed BRETT that I suspected a starter issue(being a mechanic myself)! I was told that it was an ignition issue. To make a long story short, I took my vehicle back, due to the same issue, and it was discovered that the problem was a corroded wire to the starter. Being as how it was, INDEED, a starter issue, I feel that I should have been credited SOMETHING for the ignition lock cylinder that was put on that WAS NOT NEEDED. I know that they need to make money, but when a problem is pointed out, it should be looked at THOROUGHLY! And, being that the starter was NOT investigated THOROUGHLY(and the corroded wire would have been found), I feel I should be credited for paying for unneeded parts. I still like these guys and the work they do, but the ball was dropped on this occasion. I used to come here 2-3 years ago and the service was Good to Very Good because I really didnt care for the office lady but it seems she is gone now. It was just something minor I dealt with. However, my recent experiences, 4-5 visits in the last 2-3 months, have been stellar. I believe Brett is the office manager and is genuinely nice to everyone that comes in and very educated on auto systems in general.Just wanted to say thanks with a good review.

Great! Actually some real mechanics! I got my car inspected and it was fast and easy. I had been to jiffy lube once and they tried sell me sell these things that the computer said that my car needed. They had no clue if it really needed it or not. But here at Meinke, they actually looked at the car, and then told me that a belt is worn. They are not doing stuff that is not needed just because the computer says.

I had taken my vehicle to another shop nearby for a state inspection. They failed it for various reasons and told that the repairs would be costly. Instead of having them do the work I went to Meineke in Madison Heights for a second opinion. They went over my vehicle thoroughly and not only could not find a reason for failing my vehicle but were able to fix another repair that I needed for a very reasonable fee. They had the opportunity to pull the wool over my eyes but they were honest. That was 6 years ago and I have been a faithful customer ever since.

I have never taken the time to review any business and probably will never again but after my fourth visit with three different vehicles and absolutely no drama, I will gladly give my time to do so. I have dealt with Brett on all four occasions and couldn’t ask for a more professional and genuine individual. Thanks for all the great service.

The brake light came on. I figured it was just low on fluid. It was time for an oil change anyway so I went to Meineke. I paid the extra $10 to top off the fluid levels. When I picked up the car the brake light was still on. I checked the brake fluid, it was low. I put brake fluid in and the light went off. The brakes are fine. I paid for a service that I did not receive.

This place changed me over $700 to fix my gas pump. I ask them to go ahead and do the state inspection On the vehicle after I had paid the $700 bill. So they did inspected my vehicle, only to cAll me back and say we are going to have to put a rejection sticker on it because of a cracked rearview mirror and they could fix it for $235 😳(( I said for a mirror? Why is it that much for a piece of glass panel? The woman told me because they have to order the whole mirror kit. Whatever that’s a lie. And I could have bought the same kit for $40 online. The woman working in the front seemed more worried about talking to her friend in the lobby than helping customers. They suck and so does the workers, especially the lady in front ✌🏻And I noticed the owner responds to the good ratings and doesn’t respond to the bad ones on here. You would think you would care about all good or bad. But it’s all about the $

I was passing through the area when my car started acting weird. I called and Brett got me in immediatly (on a saturday). The mechanics had to change my axel which they did in about an hour and half getting me back on the road!! They also made sure that the car was totally safe to drive for my long trip! All this right before they were getting ready to close for the day! I was thrilled! Best experience in a situation that could have been awful!

As long as Brett works there youre in good hands. If they cant fix it they at least wont jerk you around and try costing you money.
