Went to go refuse a package. Clerk gives me some sass and eventually takes it. Says they cant scan it into the system until some lady comes in on Monday. Monday comes and no update. I open a case and after a week of waiting they call back and tell me there is nothing they can do about it since it wasnt scanned into the system. Thankfully the items in the parcel were only $15 but regardless USPS ultimately STOLE my package. Take this lesson from me, if they dont scan the item and mark it as refused DIRECTLY INFRONT OF YOUR FACE take your parcel back and run. You will be in a world of headaches!

I have shipped well over 1,000 packages here - I do buy prepaid labels - but I have never ever ever had a bad experience here. Dave is the postmaster and he is VERY knowledgeable - Cathe is fabulous - very friendly and greets everyone with a smile. Their job is not easy - requires AAA attention to detail. But maybe its just me - I greet them with a smile and thank them everytime Im there - if youre impatient or rude - well, you get what you give.

I love this post office for the convenience and it’s close to home. I live in south Berwyn, but I’m closer to the Lyons Post Office. The lines move quickly and I’m in and out of the parking lot. I avoid Berwyn Post Office like the plague. I will agree with other reviews, the employees are definitely not friendly. I’ve never seen a smile or been greeted in a friendly manner. I guess they’re miserable because they’re working. They should be thankful they have jobs. The 4 stars are for location & service.

I needed to ship something for the very first time and drove a little further to this location and it was the right choice. Catherine helped me and had all the patience of the world even though she was the only one at the counter. I will for sure be back!

Absolutely terrible customer service!!! The mail in my house has been gotten lost ever since we moved in 4 months ago!! Until I got Informed delivery where I was able to see what mail I was supposed to get delivered!! I called and they would be able to tell me anything! So I talked directly to my mailman when he told me that he didn’t deliver my mail because he “didn’t recognize my name”. This is absolutely unacceptable and unlawful tapping into private mail: his job is just deliver any mail that has my address!! Not go through it and pick which gets delivered! To make matters worse he lost mail that came from a relative in the military to which I will never be able to get those letters again.

I have been going to this post office for years as a Lyons resident & they have always been amazing. Specifically, I would like to give credit to the Post Master, David. I originally ordered a package via UPS surepost, which was then sent over to USPS for final delivery. I was confused on why UPS sent my item from Hodgkins to Chicago, called UPS and they told me my package was with Brookfield USPS, so I called them and they inform me my package is more than likely at Lyons. I called Lyons & David confirmed he will be receiving my package at Lyons location. He took down my number & gave me a call back almost immediately when my package arrived. I requested to pick it up as I feared it would be a while before it was actually on the truck & David went out of his way to assist me in receiving my package. Out of everybody I called, David was the most helpful & he truly went above and beyond. He was very understanding and he knew what he was talking about. I will continue to do business with Lyons USPS. Thank you David!

Service line can get backed up a little bit at times but most of the time it runs smoothly. Just wish the cash register people could be a little faster but Hey it is what it is. I just notice sometimes at their places a little bit short staff Wish it wouldnt turn into Walmart on us locals we have things to do too.

If you have a package to send or just some mail, do not go to this Post Office. I have had so many things lost when mailed from this facility. I am not the only person to have this complaint. Most Lyons resident use the Riverside IL. or Brookfield IL. Post Offices to insure their mail arrives to it destination in a timely fashion.

Jimmy the mailcarrier wont do the simple task of scanning my packages when he takes them from my place of business... this simple task was asked of him since he carries his bag haphazardly and is responsible for losing numerous of our packages. A cost that we eat when our customers complain they havent received their packages. This issue has been on going for over a year. Ive had nice conversations with Jimmy in the past and even shared homemade banana bread with him on a few occasions. The fact that I can not get any support from the post master is seriously unfair. The fact that Im forced to take these packages on both my time and my dime to the post office all because he can not do the very simple task of scanning in my packages makes me a bitter person over all. I guess I just need to be a jerk in life cause of people like Jimmy! Thought u were a good person Jimmy... guess I was wrong. Thanks very much to Willie and the other mailcarrier that kindly helps me out by scanning them in and allowing me to vent to them about Jimmy...

Terrible service, i had gone to get my passport and they told me that I had to get there before 3 and I had gone at 1:30 and they told me that I couldnt do it anyone because the lady that was gonna do it was leaving and she had been there since 5:45 in the morning. And she gave attitude and rude gestures and Ive gone here my whole life. There is only one worker in there that is a cool nice guy and gives no hassle, Im not sure what his name was again but he was a African American chubby guy. Only nice worker there.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I have been dealing with this post office for 8 years of my life! Why not leave a review right? The people inside the post office really seem to hate their job. Especially Tony, I think shes the post master. She has a TERRIBLE ATTITUDE over the phone and in person. The people delivering our mail are wonderful though. Ive seen quite a few come and go. No complaints about them. But inside the post office, its a different story. I just called to ask her for prices for certified mailing and it was the most aggressive conversation I have ever had. I just called to ask for pricing because I couldnt find it online. I told her politely that I didnt want to argue and that the only thing I called for was to ask for the rates to a certified letter and the return receipt fee, all while she was arguing over postage with me. Why couldnt my office be graced with a nicer post office staff?!?!

This place is a hit or miss depending on whos there. Ive gone when staff is efficient and friendly and then theres times when the lines are long or theres no service because they only have one clerk or shes at lunch. Its been at least 3x I had to leave without delivering my package. I wont be back, will drive extra 5 mins and go to Berwyn where they are always nice, helpful and I get taken care of.

This place is so SLOOOOOOOOOOW. I have been going since last week trying to send a priority envelope. I have waited more than 15 min each time, I end up walking out along with other people that are in line. You would think they would have another register open, but they don’t!! 1 register and the line is at least 15+ min or more. I will use FedEx instead cheaper than wasting my time in line.

I am amazed at how terrible an attitude the post master Toni Grey gave me this early afternoon. The clerk that assisted my family with setting up a P.O Box many weeks ago apparently went against rules and regulations by including me in the list of recipients even though I wasnt present. I came to present my ID by notice, but according to Toni, presenting my ID is not allowed unless the owner of the box is present. But the notice did not specify this, my name was on the application and list, and this specific rule was never communicated to us. There was much confusion on my end, ( I was inquiring for alternative ways to go about this because the owner of the box and I have conflicting work schedules) but Toni kept cutting me off, speaking over me with the most disgusting attitude. I asked for the manager, and learned right then that she was the post master. And so I asked for her managers name and number. She gave me a re-delivery slip that gives a number to the same exact Lyons post office, and 800-ask-usps. As I was packing my things to go, I explained to the clerks that were gawking as Toni was yelling over me, that I understand there are rules and regulations that we need to abide by, but there was no need to be rude and disrespectful. Most especially because, aside from being a customer, I was being respectful and collected when speaking to the entire staff. So Tony comes back again to defend herself by saying she needed to repeat herself over and over again to me. She literally kept up her attitude as I was walking away to the exit! And by looking at some of the reviews, it appears that many people have had to deal with this particular persons rude attitude. The number listed on this re-delivery slip (with no managers name like I asked for, by the way) leads me to an automated system strictly for postal service, I cant connect to an actual person. So Im leaving this review and I hope it reaches the appropriate persons so that it can be brought to the post masters attention. Theres no reason to have to deal with terrible, unprovoked customer service at a POST OFFICE from a post master.

Worst experience ever lazy employee claims could not scan Package that I was dropping off and to just leave it in an unsecured totes and when she has more packages and time she would scan,let alone there was no one else at the post office I was the only customer absolutely horrible experience lazy incompetent employees.
