My mom signed me up for the summer SAT lessons and I thought I was about to be thrown through the ringer. It’s feels like quite the opposite. The teachers are very friendly and supportive. When you get a question wrong, they walk you through it and I feel very comfortable asking questions. Their scheduling is very flexible for the summer program as well. They also have an ingenious system of a “school store” where students earn a currency for how long they are there and how focused they are, to which they can then “buy” things from the store. When it’s time for sylvan class I don’t find myself dreading it the same way I do my regular high school. Would recommend.

Our child attends Sylvan over the summer and enjoys the subjects learned. The teachers are wonderful and work hand in hand with her to success. Great location and people.

Words will never speak as to how Sylvan Lynnwood has changed our life.The public school system failed my daughter miserably beginning in Kindergarten. She has learning and behavioral disabilities, which our public system could not accommodate. As a result, when we entered into Sylvan, we were a mess. I was at a loss for what we were going to do.My daughter doesnt fit in the little box our system has to offer.From day 1, Sylvan has extended, and gone over and beyond to know and understand my little girl. They have the ability to go outside the box, giving her the opportunities she deserves to succeed. They are always finding new strategies to accommodate her learning style. She is rewarded for the work she does, which keeps her motivated. She is learning healthy boundaries, while building her confidence and trust in a learning environment, so she is able learn at her own pace, and style.Small group, individualized learning structure has become vital for my daughter, as she struggles with the typical learning structures. She has made friends, and has stability with her teachers who now know her.Sylvan has been amazing not only for education, but so amazing for her socially and emotionally. Simply put, Candace, and the teachers are AMAZING humans, they just get it.They are always willing to communicate and work diligently to ensure we are all on the same page so we can all work together to ensure her growth and success. My daughter has grown, and continues to grow. She is learning how to feel safe and comfortable in a learning setting which works for her.I cant say enough, Sylvan has been a true blessing, and I look forward to continuing our work with them!

Our daughter has done extremely well at Sylvan. She started with the start of the 2020-2021 school year to get extra support with reading and writing. She has made a great deal of progress and her confidence with reading is amazing. She wants to read and gets excited for new books. The tutors make it enjoyable, she looks forward to going each week and walks out with a smile on her face. Communication with staff has always been great and supportive.

Our child is in elementary school and with distant learning has been a challenge. Continues to improve in both reading and math with the help of the teachers at Sylvan who provide the appropriate academic structure. This has made a noticeable difference in improving test scores in elementary school this year of which we are pleased to see..

My son fell a bit behind in his reading when school went virtual and I was concerned about him getting a good start in middle school. He has spent 5 afternoons a week for the past month getting focused reading support. He has never complained (surprising for a middle schooler on summer break) and he is looking forward to continuing in some way once school starts since school will be virtual and he prefers in person learning. Candice and team have done a great job ensuring safety and sanitation precautions are taken and I have no concerns about my son spending time in the learning environment.

Our 10 year old struggled with math and remote learning was rough for her (and me!) this spring. We went to Sylvan and shes been loving her sessions with her teachers. I am happy to see her getting real support from educators and gaining confidence for the fall. Everything is very organized and we are excited for her summer sessions.

Sylvan has been instrumental in my 7 year olds reading growth. In approximately 4 months, shes gained about a full years worth of comprehension and skill.The staff are great to work with and engage children of all ages in ways that keep their attention. The curriculum is aligned with school district curriculum (similar language) and theres enough 1:1 time that my daughter absolutely loves going to Sylvan. It is her highlight of the day, the 3 days a week she attends.My 7 year old said she gives it 10/10 and we concur. We wouldnt hesitate to enroll her for other subjects or to enhance her current knowledge base.Shes been attending during the COVID pandemic and Sylvan has a great system set up where children are temperature screened, all staff and students wear masks, tables are separated physically, and each table (1 teacher and up to 3 students) has plexiglass on 3 sides of the student.

This has been the best experience for both my kids. My 12 year old was behind in math and couldn’t understand the concepts- 3 months in Sylvan and she is passing all her tests 100%. My 17 year old came for ACT/SAT prep and loved it just as much. Well worth the cost, and every single teacher is amazing.

Best decision I have made for my child regarding academics. My child loves attending classes and I appreciate meeting with the director to follow my childs progress.

I attended Sylvan when I was in 3rd grade primarily because my friends were all reading chapter books and I was struggling with reading comprehension. I avoided reading books. I wanted to read but the prospect seemed like too much work. I attended Sylvan in Lynnwood over the summer coming every day for 2 hours and when I went back to school I was no longer in the low reading group and I was bumped up to the highest group. I didnt realize what a big difference this would make to my self-confidence. I am currently in High School and taking Honors English. I read constantly. I have found that my reading has also helped me in my writing. I am now exploring options for SAT Prep and discovered that Sylvan has a program. I really liked the atmosphere and the teachers at Sylvan and I will probably do SAT Prep next summer with Sylvan.

My son feels much more confident in Math after his time at Sylvan. We have found it to be a great experience!

Sylvan has been a real blessing for my family. For the past few years the teachers kept telling me not to worry she will be fine, she will catch up. She had two teachers who went on maternity leave in two years. Homework became a nightmare where we would both be in tears. A friend of mine told me about Sylvan and how it helped her son. Homework is no longer an issue for them and there is no longer the home work struggles after school. We enrolled my daughter in Sylvan. Their prices were very reasonable and they had a plan that worked for my family budget. The difference was immediate. It was night and day. We saw a boost in her confidence. I have been a teacher here at Sylvan of Lynnwood for the past nine months. During that time, I have been able to witness the dedication of this locations staff firsthand. The director, Candice Taylor, always goes out of her way to make sure that every family that comes to us is well taken care of and does her best to meet their needs. The teachers at this location are warm and friendly; I could not ask for a better team of educators to be a part of. We make sure to get to know every child and meet them where they are. From there, we do our best to challenge them to grow and tackle difficult subjects one session at a time. Sylvan of Lynnwood is a truly joyous place to learn. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

From the moment my 10 year old son went into the Lynnwood/Shoreline center, he wanted to return. He has so much fun and has been steadily improving in his math skills. I was nervous that he wouldnt want to go during summer break, but he looks forward to it every time. The SAT prep was very comprehensive. The staff and director were very knowledgeable.

We are new to Sylvan of Lynnwood and so far we have been very pleased with their services. My son was a bit hesitant at first but he now looks forward to his classes. We started him with a total of 3 days, 2hrs (2days) and 1hr (1day). We thought it would be too much because of how much he hated doing homework or just school overall but we were wrong. They make it fun for them and even have a coin rewards program which allows them to buys gifts at their shop.

My Granddaughter loves going and she has improved her reading and confidence.

Candice, Josh, and all the staff at Lynnwood Sylvan went above and beyond to provide intensive tutoring for both our kids. One needed intensive math tutoring from Gr 9-12 (along with homework help and SAT prep), and the other needed summer SAT prep. Both increased their SAT combined scores from grade 10 PSAT to grade 11 (real) SAT (one by 50 points and the other by 100 points!), as well as their sense of confidence and self efficacy. Its not just the content -- its the care behind it that matters so much.

Sylvan Has been such a great choice we have made for our children. They both have more confidence now. The teacher are wonderful too!
