Cervizzi’s Martial Arts in Lynnfield is Amazing. They teach more than just self-defense techniques and many of the benefits extend beyond karate.Students learn discipline, self-respect, self-control and confidence. These are benefits from instruction, effort in a structured environment. Post-covid-> the dojo enhanced their teaching offerings to include online learning as well as thoughtful in-person classes (limiting class size, taking temperatures, wearing masks, and cleaning between each class). Cervizzi’s Martial Arts in Lynnfield has been the one consistent activity during Covid and it is a testament to the dedication of the instructors and staff. Our daughter has been going for 4+ years. We saw how much she was growing that our son joined for the past 3+ years, and to make it a family bond, I joined 2 years ago. I have witnessed each of our growth. One annual tournament really stuck out to me. Our daughter entered a competition for weapons, forms, and sparring. Before the forms event, she had to speak in front of the judges (and about 75+ spectators). I felt nervous for her but the crowd didn’t impede her one bit. She remain focused and executed her form flawlessly. I share this specific moment because it is another benefit beyond classes: the ability to practice, practice, practice, execute and compete. We highly recommend Cervizzi’s Martial Arts Academy!
I cannot say enough good things about Cervizzis in Lynnfield. My 9 yr old son can be very shy at times and he was really worried about giving the trial class a try, but after one class his assumptions about karate totally changed. My son felt safe, respected and nurtured right away, otherwise he would not have continued. He asks every single day if its a karate day and is eager to learn all of the forms and combinations essential for moving along in his skill level. Karate has helped him tremendously with working memory, crossing his midline and left/right strengthening. Sensei Diana is a true gem and such a gift to these children. She knows how to teach effectively and is able to keep track of everyones progress with an ease that will leave you astonished. She demands attention and respect from the children, while also leaving enough gentleness in her tone so the kids will approach her should they have questions or concerns they need to address. She is positive in speaking to them, but also makes her expectations VERY clear to the group. My son has become a part of a local community because of Cervizzis. This has been helpful as he is a homeschooler, so being with a group of mixed aged children multiple times a week in a group setting has really rounded out the education we are giving him at home.
