Not thrilled with this company, its policies, & the state of its equipment & facilities; been a member on & off for years and after a recent 1-year membership commitment, I’ve come to find out that I’ll be charged multiple fees that make absolutely no sense through September when my contract supposedly “ends” in a week. I was already disappointed in the cleanliness of the facility prior to COVID, which was going to be my main reason for not continuing my membership, but the way they conduct business is a close second. Sad to say I’ll never return, there are some lovely folks that work here.

I am a swimmer and found the pool very clean and temperature just right. I can say that it never get gets crowded when I go at midday and always have my own lane. The rest of the club is devoted to a well attended gym. This gym is spotless and well managed. Gym employees are corteous and helpful with questions.

I joined this club online without touring first. That turned out to be a big mistake. When I first went, I found the club to be in disrepair, very dirty, and the staff to be unfriendly. I decided to cancel after going for a few months. Guess what? They made that nearly impossible! Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

I became a member in November 2018.I have been out of town a lot for the year, so couldn’t use it often enough to keep the membership. The shower facility is awful.So, I requested to cancel membership on 9/27/2019. When I submit the paper, the guy at the front desk told me that they will charge me $10 and the prorated monthly fee, and my membership will be cancelled around 10/15. So I agreed to cancel.I noticed the club charge me $39 on 10/2 for the whole October, which is $10 higher than normal monthly fee, $29.And I got the voice message from Jackie that she need to have credit card information to proceed cancellation.I called her back on 10/4, and she told me she need to charge me $10 cancellation fee, and another prorated monthly fee(about $16). I was a little upset, because they suddenly raised the monthly fee without any notice, and try to charge me another monthly fee. I just was too busy to argue, So told her to go ahead, and gave her my credit card number.On 10/4, I noticed the club charge me $10, and $92.18!!! I called Jackie, and she told me they need to charge me annual fee of $69!I argued that I became member in November, annual fee of $69 was charged in December 2018.She told me I need to talk to Sal, and left a message. He never returned a call. I called many times, but they just keep saying that Sal is not in, and left the office!On 10/8, today, I called again and got Jackie over the phone. she told me they didn’t charge annual fee last year, so I argued that I paid in December. Suddenly, she changed the claim, and the club can charge annual fee anytime!! And refused to remove $69.What a nightmare to cancel the membership!!!!I wasted my time and energy. I never had this awful experience with any business. They are not professional at all and dishonest.

Many loopholes..just don’t join for promotionsI joined BSC Lynfield MA. They have a promotion price which they change after 5 months and charged me more. I asked that should valid for a year as per the promise they did during membership creation. But they didn’t adjust anything. Moreover their customer service is very poor. The hot tub was not operational for 3 months.

I wish I read the other reviews before I joined....Please do not make the same mistake I did. Everything was okay until I had to cancel. Then the runaround began. I called and got a different story every time. They kept billing me and I kept calling, sending letters etc. Then they threatened to send me to collections- For a service I was not even using, and that i assumed was canceled. They are involved in shady practices and the owner should be ashamed of himself. It is not worth the headache to join here, trust me.

Jackie head of memberships is awful, she doesn’t care about you at all. I’ve left countless messages to cancel my account, no one has gotten back to me. Never been once due to health issues & not one call back to cancel.

It is convenient to where i was going...but dont like the layout, dont like the condition the equipment and the bathroom and locker room are disgusting. Other than that it is fine.

Wow what a difference between their different locations. Visited and did a workout over at the Lexington location and never wanted to step in that place again. Just at first glance this place seems worth the price tag. Already impressed compared to my other experience. Im about to get my workout in and see how I like it, so here we go...

BEWARE OF SCAM! Not sure how they are legally operating with all the BS they are pulling. They will continue to Bill you after you cancel, and then refuse to refund you. Customer service is non-existent, and when you do get ahold of someone, they are rude and unhelpful. Don’t bother

I have been a member for a very long time, though this review is just for the babysitting service which I started using recently. I started taking my infant son there a last month and have been nothing short of impressed with the babysitting staff. Arlene, in particular, is incredible with my son and a joy to see so early in the mornings!

I am writing to warn other gym members not to make the same mistake I did. I met with a personal trainer and was under the impression that I was signing a contract for 4 sessions at a total cost of $380. Not cheap by any means, but I really wanted to get started on a new program. My card was charged $380 and I thought I was all set. The next month my card was charged $380 again. I called the gym and they claim that I agreed to 12 sessions!! They say I signed a contract for this. I did electronically sign a document but I was under the impression that it was for 4 sessions, not 12! They refuse to take off the extra charge and will charge me a third time if I dont get a note from a doctor stating that I cant train. Now Ive got 8 sessions that I dont even want to go to because Im so upset. They also claim that if the sessions arent used weekly, they expire! I had to go out of town because of an illness in my family. So now Ive lost those sessions. I dont ever want to set foot in this place again. PLEASE be sure to read EVERYTHING and dont sign any electronic documents. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The place is filthy. My daughter, granddaghter and I were asked by a man, in the hot tub, if we were clean enough. Yes, this was a misogynistic racist question. First, let me say this. When we first went to BSC I was shocked at how filthy the pool area was. Hot tub water was tea colored, the walls of the tubs were brown. Very dangerous!!!! No, the hot water does not kill the bacteria in the water. In fact, it flourishes in those conditions. So the staff were not concerned with that parasite that made comments that day, but others that witnessed this, left in disbelief. We will be back, better equipped to handle the situation.

The facilites are falling apart, the locker rooms are filthy, and the employees are rude and unhelpful. Plus they play games when you want to cancel. I was still billed after I left and they refused to refund me. STAY AWAY FROM BSC LYNNFIELD!!!

Supposedly they will be going through lots of much needed renovations. In the meantime, I cant say its the best gym Ive been to. The locker rooms arent always clean and some showers are either dirty or dont work. There arent enough weights in the group fitness classes to accommodate everyone. Customer service is also lacking.

Quite literally, the worst customer services Ive ever experienced, the New CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER, yelled at my three and a half year old, and her little girlfriend.The equipment is failing, the pool is under constant repair, and to my horror, as my guest was stretching, the roof was leaking on her head. I finally cancelled my membership, and realized sacrificing proximity for professional curiosity and safe equipment was long overdue.

I have never been so disgusted with a gym. I sent an email back in February to cancel my membership and nobody responded. It was my fault for not following up. Then I called on May 9th and asked what I need to do to cancel my membership and I was told to send in a letter or cancel in person. My letter was sent that day but my account was still charged. I stated in my letter that my dog had cancer and her treatment is extremely expensive. I called the sales manager, Jackie, and explained everything I just mentioned. She told me that I needed to send a certified letter to the club or come down to cancel. I explained that I didnt think it was right that I am paying when I simply did what staff told me. I reiterated my financial hardship due to my dog being sick which she simply said that she was sorry but there was nothing that she can do despite. I went down in person to cancel for the 3rd time and asked to speak to customer service. The following day I was charged an additional $30, not to mention the gym increasing the rate from $30 to $50 with no notice. I left another message but nobody returned my call. I will say that the men at the front desk were very kind and sympathetic. Ive worked for several gyms in the past and most people would work something out with the customer. Jackie didnt even consider trying to work out anything with me. I very rarely complain about customer services butI couldnt just let this go. I notice many people have same complaints. Maybe the Better Business Bureau needs to be called on this place

This place is in disrepair. 50% of the TVs on the cardio equipment either dont work at all or have audio issues. Ive reported these issues on several occasions and no action has been taken for months now.Equipment gets flagged with out of service signs for weeks/months. They got rid of the folks who used to clean the locker rooms so the members frequently bail soapy water into the steam room so it doesnt stink in there. Every month they run out of wipes, shampoo/conditioner/etc. At this point it should be no surprise how much of these supplies the gym needs every month. I dont know if its the local, district, or corporate management that is responsible for how this place is operated, but I cant recommend it at this point if you have other alternatives that meet your needs.

I had sign up for Boston Sports Club Lynnfield back in February, I had cancel in May because I had received a new job in which they let me pay what I owe and told me Ill be charge in june and canceled my membership. Now in Aug I realized they kept charging me and I ask to make sure its cancel. We are now in Sept and I recieved another charge of $60 dollars and was told Ill also be charge pro-rate along with a cancel fee. Its unprofessional and only care for the money they can take.

The best BSC club in the area with lots of amenities and classes. Great swimming pool for kids - the only one you can just walk-in with your kids during the working hours.

Awful gym. Stole 200.00 from me when i canceled my membership. They made up false documents so my credit card company couldnt get my money refunded they then kept the 200.00 then actually had the balls to call me back and offer me a 15.00 a month welcome back promotion. I told them not to call me again because my next step was legal. They really need to be investigated because of tsi and bsc financial practices. I was saddened to read about TSI purchasing latitude theres another gym that will go down the toilet - I’ll stick with PF.

Last year I ended membership. Sometimes I go to pool with my daughter, but today I saw thing that I didn’t saw anywhere!!!! Men came to the pool, and started to undress, put all clothes on the ground and walk in the water with shoes!!! Sneakers!!! It wasn’t water shoes! I and daughter leaved the pool and went to dreesing room. I called to club and told about it, they said they will talk to him, but after half an hour we leaved the dressing room and the man was still in the pool... And for two years while I was a member I saw a lot of discussing stuff, woman come with clothes to sauna, after work out, with shoes, few times club members came to steam room with clothes and shoes!!!! It looks like steam room wasnt clean at all for long time period, because the was white stuff on the wall and I waited when it going to be clean... but...:( also there is no light in steam room, once it was fixed, but lasted just for month maybe...

Absolutley horrible gym. Canceled my membership with them and the very next day they very conveniently decide to charge me a 100 dollar “annual fee”. On top of that a month later they charged me again! This gym is run by morons. Don’t recommend. Less than 1 star rating.

My parents just had the worst customer service experience. Heather Hilton yelled at two people twice her age over the billing mistake that their gym was responsible for. Despite our efforts to solve the issues over the course of a few months, she was just plain rude and unprofessional. At the end of the conversation she basically told my mother, who has been a member there for awhile, to leave and offered to cancel her membership. No matter what the issue is, successful businesses do not conduct themselves in such manner... What a shame! Stay away!

Canceled my membership in order to switch gyms, the next day was charged $130 dollars in “anual fees”, a “45 day prorated cancelation charge” and a additional cancelation fee. When I contacted the club on a Tuesday I was told I would get a call back from the sales manager “sal” the next day. No return call for two days and when I called each day the manager was not “in” or in a meeting off site.... so I went to the club. “Sal” was not there again.... explained the general manager explained that he has no power to reverse the fees. The computer won’t let him.... I’m sure it is a corporate issue. Turns out there is a class action law suit about this to which I will be signing on. Avoid this club and all other BSC and NySC clubs at all costs. Deceptive business practices at very best.

For 3 years I tolerated the discusting condition of this gym because it was in walking distance of where I live. The ceiling was always leaking and the ceiling tiles have actual mold on them. I finally quit because I was moving and in typical gym fashion they overcharged my acount 3 separate times in the month after I quit. I tried on 5 different occasions to get a manager on the phone but could not. Each time I was told that a manager would call me back - they never did. I am now awaiting a refund I that they assure me is in process. Why is it that every gym on the planet wants to screw you on the way out the door. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. For the price - it does not measure up.

Can I rate less than one star? First of all, membership cost had more than filled since I joined. The place is filthy and poorly maintained and if youre over 58, good luck with any overhead lifts. They charged me $30 just to cancel.

HORRIBLE!!! Unscrupulous customer service and business practices!! I called the last week of February to freeze my membership. I spoke to Howard, after I gave him my name and he looked me up, he recognized me right away. He asked me what was going on, and I explained my situation. He said, no problem Ill put it in the computer right away, youre all set. I was charged my full membership rate for March. I called BSC Lynnfield, and as soon as someone answered I asked to speak to a manger. She would NOT hand me over to a manager until I explained exactly why I wanted to speak to a manger. I went through my entire story, she looked me up in the computer (after I spelled out my last name and she repeated it back to me), and told me I was not in their system. After a few more tries she located my account and told me there was no note in my account about requesting a freeze on my membership. I became quite frustrated, and I waited on the phone while she explained my situation to a manger. The manger got on the phone and asked me what was going on. He acted as if he had ZERO knowledge as to why I was calling. I heard the employee tell him exactly why I was calling. So, again I go through why I am calling. He completely disregarded me, and absolutely refused to believe that I did in fact have a phone conversation with Howard in February. This is just inexcusable!!! He was rude and disrespectful. He told me there was nothing he could do, except offer me a credit for a month after my freeze was over. A future credit absolutely does not excuse the carelessness and attitude I received. I was told the only way to cancel my membership was in person. I went in this morning to cancel, and the girl behind the desk hit a few buttons on the computer and told me I was all set. I said, thats it, I dont need to sign anything. She told me, no. That was a complete waste of my time!!! Of course this could have been done over the phone. Their business practices, communication and customer service are simply a joke!

There is so much I like about the club, the staff, the classes, the people. I just wish it were cleaner. The exercise room floor is really filthy. It needs to be washed and vac under the weights. Condition of some of the equipment, especially the bars, is really bad. The club needs to invest in new ones.

Those guys are Unprofessional at allBe very careful when they call you to sell you a membership to disclose everything especially the membership fee which they never mention to you .I joined them and I never went there then I called him and I told him I would like to transfer this membership to my daughter, they started charging me and charging my daughter, when we told them that we wanna cancel .The manager I talk to she lied to me because she’s the one who sold me the membership and she said I told you about the membership fee which she never did
