Took a drive off the beaten path for lunch...was well rewarded! They saw I was from out of town and took my party on a tour to a cafeteria style lunch where the ladies were so helpful! They gave samples of things we werent having! All was excellent! Great Shrimp and Grits, BBQ Pork Butt and Chicken Salad! Definitely a place Id recommend!

I came to meet someone here before my class and did not know they were not open yet. I told them I was to meet someone and that I came from Raleigh NC. They explained the cook was not in yet but I was welcome to come in and offered me some ice tea. My friends came and we ordered some food and it was very good. I was so impressed by their generality. They have all types of events there, a big room in back and seem to be very popular in town for catering.

For the past year and a half my husband and I with two other couples have been going to Candy-Suess for dinner once every three months. The trip is about one and a half hours for one of the couples. We love this place. It has become a part of our history together. The food is good and the people are friendly. I would recommend my friends dine at Candy-Sues.

Well I had posted a great review after we got our delicious appetizers... Then our food never came. We finally just put cash on the table and walked out. Sad really. I was looking forward to the promise of a good meal. Epic fail.

We were passing through on a Sunday and stopped at lunchtime for the buffet which was explained to us as a collection of the regular dishes they serve so guests can try a little of everything. I was blown away by the spread! So much choice for the price. I dont know how they can afford to offer so much. The pork was my favorite.The building is really cool and unique too. Looks to be an old historical building, some kind of old mill or something with open timber framing and brick walls.This place is definitely worth going out of you way from 74 or 95 to stop at.

This is a great place to go. It beats all the chain restaurants. The food was excellent and the prices even better. If you are traveling through Lumberton take the time to drive downtown to go to Candy Sues.

Susan, the owner, works hard with staff and sons to give Lumberton great food and entertainment. Specials every night at very affordable prices. Well supplied bar with draft beers also.

After moving to the area from New England, Candy Sues has become one of my favorites! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The wait staff is great as well! My favorite is the Chicken Picatta and of couse a fried cheesecake for desert. Everything is sinfully good! Highly recommend this place, 5 minutes off I95!

The place is really nice being that it is the old Black Water Grill. The food was great but service sucks! A group of friends went to hang out and had the worst waitress ever. We asked to speak to the manager and some young guy came over claiming to be the General Manager acted as if he could NOT care less about the poor service that we received. Complete moron!

The chicken salad croissant sandwich was amazing! Candy Sues has wonderful food for cheap prices! Highly recommend!

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE SERVICE!!!! Ordered food for a meeting of 30 people in February and even though they faxed an invoice for the food they actually LOST THE ORDER and didnt show up...we had a room of 30 people for a lunch meeting and no food!!!! After that blunder, they offered our next catering at 1/2 price. We placed the order for the next month and still had to make several phone calls before they got the order straight. On the day of the catering they showed up to our business 35 MINUTES late and the delivery man was EXTREMELY RUDE. After setting up the food he engaged some of the staff in social conversation as other staff members were cleaning up the mess from the SALAD DRESSING HE SPILLED ALL OVER.....and to make matters worse he actually had the audacity to say I dont know why everyone is upset, everyone is late AND you did get the food for 1/2 price!!!! At this point it no longer matters how good the food is, I dont need to ever deal with this heartache again!!!!

Wow. If you find yourself in this area, it is well worth the drive off 95. Nice atmosphere, quick friendly service and I would say under priced.We got a full rack of ribs and the worlds best butt. The ribs were thick and juicy. The blueberry bbq sauce added a great flavor and a slight crunch. But be prepared...its a lot of food. The butt was tender and juicy (weird I never thought Id write in a review). I got potato salad and the Vidalia onion cobbler. The potato salad was typical nc style...But the cobbler was something special.Finally, the manager recommend a moonshine cocktail for one of our family members. I dont remember the name, but it was moonshine, cranberry, and pineapple juice...two will do ya.

I am highly disappointed in the owner and the manner in which she conducts business. I was going to use this establishment as a venue for my mothers 60th Birthday Party; however, decided not too. I put a $250 deposit down and requested a refund, especially since I gave them 5 months notice of my cancelation. The owner was rude and said no refund unless someone else books for that day, then hung up the phone. I am disappointed in how this was handled, and currently seeking a lawyer. There was nothing in writings that stated such policy. BAD Management!
