So tired of service going in and out!! Switched from the cheapest to most expensive plan to only get outages at least once a week. I’ve called multiple time to speak to someone who is rude and very ill informed. Every time it’s “well we will send someone out sometime today”. I’m done paying almost $200 for a service that works part time!! They won’t discount your bill for when their internet is out either!! Very poor customer service!! If your going to be in the internet business you need to keep up with the competition. That starts with customer service and an actual service that works and doesn’t just turn off for no reason. My neighbor has same internet but the lover package with the different modem and doesn’t have any problems. My word of advice don’t pay for the expensive halftime internet when you can pay the cheaper price and have internet all the time!! Also call and file a report every time it goes off even if it come back on.
I have had this company for years. Living out in the country we dont have a lot of options and decided to try them. Even though they know that, they still have been top notch in customer care and service. On a holiday when most people are closed Richard came out and fixed our internet that bad weather had taken out. We were back up and running within minutes.
Everything was great Richard explained everything to me he made sure internet was working before he left...thank you
Disappointed that this place does not update their systems for electronic payments. Recently, they told me customers could make payments by phone. I submitted a payment for a particular amount only to find out it was processed for way more than I submitted payment for. This is even after confirming with a CSR that no payments had been received. I’m totally disappointed that this place does not update the way customers can submit payments other than having to drive a payment clear across town. We drive in from Wolforth every single time.
South Plains Telephone Coop is quickly becoming an obsolete and irrelevant provider of telecom products. They provide fiber optics internet but the service is sporadic at times and has almost daily outages. To add insult to injury they provide very limited hours of tech support (bankers hours) such that if your internet service drops out after hours... you are out of luck until the next business day. They have an answering service but they are useless and at times give out incorrect and misleading information. They also provide cable TV service but they have no on demand features and again no 24 hour support. Their pricing is not overly competitive considering the missing aspects of the service.I would also agree with a previous comment concerning their office customer service and billing being archaic and in the dark ages. They need to offer modern methods of payment and account management.Office staff often promise return phone calls on issues but never follow through. Finally they are slaves to the landline... you have to maintain a landline through them to get any services which for many is an added and largely useless expense.Overall South Plains Telephone needs to greatly step up their game and modernize their thinking and services if they wish to remain competitive and relevant. Our family has been with SPTC for over 40 years... it is sad to see them falling behind.
1 year ago I made my first steps to get service, coming from gig internet in town I was worried, they laid fiber and set up internet with little difficulty. My internet has only had one issue in 12 months and with multiple kids and electronics we are power users having better service than we did in town on normal service
Here we are at 2:30 in the morning and I am dealing with another outage. There is no after hours phone support, no online support, really no support at all! We use South Plains because they are the only provider available but at this point Im willing to move to get better internet. When you are lucky enough to get in touch with someone the help is minimal. They are usually friendly which is why I didnt give 1 star but that is it. I have a smart home and South Plains makes it non-functional. My lights, security system, multiple tvs, video game consoles, countless Alexa and Google products come screeching to a halt on a regular basis.I work online, and part of that is gaming and streaming online, which they are not set up for at all! Many times I called to ask about the issue with the connection speed to see if that would help. I was told they only recognize speed test done from a desktop or laptop hardwired into your modem and using their speed test website. First, the link on the website hasnt worked in years so I had to get the actual url from the young lady on the phone. Next, my speed was capping out at anywhere from 0.3 mbps to 10 mbps. Problem is we pay for 100 mbps! When asked if I had other things running I explained everything except the security system was shut off. The response I got was maybe I shouldnt have an internet based security system!I asked if I would be able to add a mesh network to help extend range and service. They told me the modem/router I have is a mesh network. Ok, well, a mesh network requires more than one node and they dont offer any extra routers so thats wrong. I was also told that if I hook up my own router they cant guarantee any speeds. The routers I have can run circles around their service, why wouldnt I want to upgrade?Aside from no tech support it is almost impossible to reach this company, they have no online presence. We were elated recently (8/2020) when they gained the ability to pay your bill over the phone. Still not online. Again, my phone and internet bill cannot be paid ONLINE!When the internet first started and for customers with a single device Im sure South Plains is a great option. For me they are the only one.As I sit here, still staring at the red light on my modem, I hope this review will make you think twice before you move out of the Suddenlink and AT&T range. I also hope you learn from my mistake and dont try to modernize your home or life while using their service.
Very good customer service
Very nice staff
Been with Suddenlink for 20 years and the service has continually gone downhill. Switched over to South Plains Telephone Co-op for internet, cable tv and phone. It has been an awesome experience. Ronnie the installer was great. Best of all, when you have a question you can talk to a person! Wish we had switched years ago when we moved into their service area.
HORRIBLE INTERNET SERVICE! Weve put up with it for wayyyy to long. 10+ years! We even upgraded the internet service in hopes of better service and its been 2 years and we are out of that contract and it was no better. Phones are always weird. Sometimes you can barely hear the other person on the line or there is noise. Will be looking into new service elsewhere.
Terrible customer service.
Very helpful stuff and always a friendly welcome.
Been with this Co-op for years and Everytime I have a problem (maybe three or four times a year) they are very quick to help. As for the #internet service, besides the few problems found in their equipment, it has been fast and reliable. Overall, great customer service and uninterrupted service 99.8% of the time.
Company providing a great deal of service for its customers. Almost 100% digital. Excellent option for telecommunications and broadband internet service.
Awesome Service. People are always friendly and helpful.
Way better fiber internet than what my old Suddenlink was. And double the speed for the same price! Ive had nothing but good experiences with SPTC. Everyones always been very friendly and easy to work with.Update 6/27/18 It has been some time with this company and still -- I have never had a single outage, problem with their internet or with my phone! The same goes with their prices. I definitely recommend SPTC!Update 2/6/19 -- So far we have had one single outage. I happened to catch it as I was online. Before I called to report it, I checked their Facebook page and they had already notified everyone that they were aware of an outage and had already dispersed technicians at 10 PM to fix it. Within 45-60 minutes, everything was fixed! With Suddenlink, similar outages took 48 hours to fix. And even then, it would be very spotty service.Still very happy with my choice in SPTC. Though I could admit -- they would definitely win a lot of people over by having online payment.
Piss poor service, there billing is still stuck in the dark ages. No online payments, No credit card payments. Would highly recommend another provider if you have the option.
Terrible customer service... and Im not even a customer..in fact I hope I never have to be.Miss cranky pants at the front desk needs an attitude adjustment. Also it needs updating completely ridiculous paying a bill.. and there wasnt room to make a line.. every one just seemed mad.
Horrible service provider! Outages are every other day with internet and telephone! Ridiculous!
Terrible internet consistency paying for 50mbs or 100 I forget which but never get close to either Im lucky if I get 10 sometimes even drops down to the kbs range and even drops out completely looking for new company
Very friendly and professional. Took care of our needs and offered any assistance to make sure our concerns were met
Very inconsistent internet had it for 5 years with no improvement only choice i have or i wouldve switched to another company
03/30/2017 I was nearly in an accident this morning on South University because the dumbass in your truck couldnt be bothered to use his turn signal.
Service blacks out a LOT like every outher month or week
