They treated my puppy corn with respect. They provided great care for him and I’m thankful that they were so kind to my baby. They were made aware that he has bad anxiety and they did everything they could to accommodate his special needs.

The doctor was very thorough with the review of findings. My appointment was at 4:50 PM. They had trouble getting bloodwork initially. We didn’t leave till 6:30 PM. However the staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the care they gave my cat. The only negative is that they do not allow you to go in with your pets.

Recommend by a friend and they took good care of my baby. Did a thorough job explaining what needed to be done and the costs. As well as taking good care of my dog while she was super nervous about having to go inside without me, they were super patient with her.

Dr. Ishida is one of the most patient, thoughtful, thorough vets I have known. He is also brilliant. Lubbock is lucky to have him. The clinic staff are compassionate, calm, and knowledgeable too. I cant recommend Above & Beyond Pet Care enough.

I was so nervous about leaving town without my dog. From the moment I first called for boarding availability to the moment I picked him up - Above and Beyond calmed my fears. They took such great care of my dog and really seemed to get to know him and his sweet personality while he was there which meant the world to me! I’m so thankful for the great care he received!

Above and Beyond truly deserves its name. Our dog was terrified of car and when she was ready to leave us, we did not want to bring her anywhere, and wanted her to be put to sleep relaxed at home. After calling over 20 vets in Lubbock, we were lucky to get on the line with Above and Beyond and they did everything to make sure they could come and help our old pup to transition from life to death in the comfort of our living room, even though she was not their patient. She was so relaxed, she went painlessly in just a few seconds. They offered us a paw print and helped us decide what we wanted to do with her body. They were so kind and compassionate. We could see how much they care for the wellbeing of animals, even when they never met them before. If I had another pet, Id switch to them as my primary vet in a heartbeat.Thank you for going above and beyond to help our old pup go peacefully.

I had to put my dog down in January. He had an emergency and they let me bring him in within the 30 minutes that I called. His trachea had collapsed and his heart was enlarged, which were both treatable, but not curable. They were very compassionate and kind to me, especially with how erratic I was with having to put my companion of 15 years down. They let me hold him for a bit before I had to let him go and talked with me so I didn’t feel alone.Not only that, but they let me stay after closing (for quite a while, I sat there for two hours) to give me time to mourn and hold my dog. I can’t appreciate them enough. Please don’t hesitate to let them take care of your pet. They will take good care of them and you, as well.

Lobby is still closed, have to wait in the car. Took my card for payment and waited 30 minutes before I got my card back. Cant talk to the Doctor face to face, have to talk to him on the phone.

I took my dog in to be examined for Kennel cough when his original vet was too booked. His original vet told me that it sounds mild from my description and should go away on its own. Well when it didnt I brought him into Above and Beyond. They told me my 8 month old puppy was too active to be examined. He was in a new place and with it being curbside I could not go in with him. Other dogs were barking at him through the fence that is located right by the front door, which I do not believe is a bright idea. Of course he will get excited. I was given pamphlets on my dogs behavior and told that they barely listened to his lungs. Unless your dog is the most obedient in the world, then I do not recommend this place.On top of that we waited about 20 mins to be seen, then about 30 mins after our dog was already brought back to us just to hear from the vet. These arent crazy wait times but when our pet was inside for 10 mins It shouldnt take that long. That was when on the phone I was told that if I wanted further treatment for my dog he would need sedation. How would that help his fear of the vet? He also told me to take him on happy visits to his old vet. After I got off the phone with him I was waiting for about 5 more mins (not long) to speak with the receptionist. This girl had no clue as to what was happening. When asked about the prescription she said that the tech would tell me when she brought out my dog. He had been with me for over 30 mins at this point. If owners were allowed inside to see how there pet is acting or to calm them down, then it might be a little different. Instead I feel like the worst dog mom ever, because my puppy was hyper.

Best vet in town bar none. I went to 3 or 4 different vet clinics and Above & Beyond lived up to its name. They were professional, knowledgeable and took the time to explain the the tests they did as well as preventative measures and answered any questions. They also followed up by email with more information. I highly recommend Above & Beyond Pet Care .

We had a sick Tippi dog and I scheduled an appointment with Above and Beyond online, they called me shortly after for details. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We arrived for the appointment and called to let them know that we were there, they took our information and came out to the car to get Tippi. They were very good with her and kept us informed all along the way regarding what they thought they would need to do. Once Tippi had been seen the doctor called to let us know what he had found and was very detailed. We were able to approve everything before they did it including medication. I would definitely recommend Above and Beyond

I am new to Lubbock and was looking for a vet clinic close to my home. This particular clinic is a couple of blocks away from my house.However after reading the low-rated reviews I will not be using Above & Beyond. Not because they received low ratings; but because the owners decided to justify their decisions rather than following through and making sure the customer and patient are always #1.

Mrs. Renee is beyond helpful, she was so sweet and answered all of my questions! The whole team is just so awesome and made sure my fur baby was comfortable before and after his procedure. By far the best place to bring your babies

I have taken two of my dogs to Dr. Abdul. She does a thorough job and takes plenty of time when explaining whats going on with my dogs. She really cares about the animals that she treats. The technicians are professional and courteous as well.

Dr. Abdul and the staff have been absolutely amazing, with my fur baby! She takes the time to answer all of my questions (Crazy fur mom here and she has spent an hour discussing everything, with me) and does the proper research to make sure my fur daughter has the best care. I’m absolutely thankful and blessed to have found Dr. Abdul and the staff at Above and Beyond. My fur baby might disagree a little, but who likes the doctor and being poked? (Lol)

THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR PET!!! The name says it all! They truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND! The staff is professional, empathetic and they really care about animals. My dog was very sick after I took him to a different vet here in town, the one that is the supposed “the best in the west”, where they suggested that I change his med dosage when they hadn’t performed any blood panels or x-rays. This resulted in him getting VERY sick to the point where I thought he was going to die. I took him back TWICE to the other vet and they did nothing. I called Above and Beyond in a panic, crying as I was desperate to save my dog. They got me in immediately and they were aggressive in treating his symptoms and getting him back to normal. I called them countless times while he was sick and asked for advice and on the next steps and they ALWAYS kindly assisted me in every way to give him the best care. The process of getting my dog back to healthy took a couple of weeks and Dr. Ishida was so kind and truly invested in helping us. My dog is alive today because of this place! I’ve moved quite a bit and therefore taken my dogs to many vets and the vet techs here are incredibly knowledgeable! They are so well informed and really know their stuff! The front desk staff was also so compassionate and kind. Every encounter I’ve had with the staff here was just great. I can’t thank them enough my dog is everything to me.

First Visit - We took our three baby Aussies there and they were taken care fast. ThanksSecond Visit - We took our two babies back to the vet thinking that the second visit would be much cheaper. I was wrong in reality it was more expensive, we had 2 puppies this time and not 3. We were charged the same amount for this visit as we were for the last visit with 3 puppies. I asked that we not give then their heartworm medicine this time so that we can save money. Well they decided that the pups need it and so I paid for it? So from a quoted price on the phone of $186 for both pups and after the exam they gave me the price of $250. So in a matter of two months I paid over $500 for my pets to be seen? I believe there is a much cheaper vet out here. Im sure Ill get the heaters and if youre one of them, bite me.

They took really good care of my dog and educated me on his behaviors. They have a true passion for animals and care about their well being and I never felt rushed during my entire visit. I truly recommend them!I look forward to my next visit.

I started taking my first dog here when it was still a small practice. You can tell the employees love animals. I have and will continue to use and recommend.

I took my dog here for two years and I have mixed feelings. The office staff is very friendly and the office itself is clean and appealing. The pet plans are an awesome value and I definitely took advantage of the “free” visits that I received by signing up for the pet plan. That being said, Dr. Abdul really disappointed me. She misdiagnosed my dog with fleas for over a year and a half. We went in at least 5 times for itching and hair loss and even received a steroid shot and cytopoint shot on two occasions. I told her over and over that I hadn’t seen any fleas on my dog since we started Nexguard, but she insisted that they were biting once and dying as if I had a huge flea infestation in my apartment. I finally called the office and explained my frustration and they set up an appointment with Dr. Ishida. He was awesome and ran a fungal which came back as ringworm. I just wish we could have gotten that diagnosis the first time we came in so that she didn’t have to suffer for a year and a half. Dr. Abdul also discouraged me from taking advantage of the yearly dental that comes with the pet plan because apparently my dog didn’t need one. I moved shortly after Dr. Ishida treated my dog for the correct ailment so I wasn’t able to discuss it with him. Her new vet says that she needs a $500 dental so I definitely feel cheated on that one. Overall I enjoyed coming here, I just wouldn’t refer anyone to Dr. Abdul.

Absolutely would highly recommend to bring your fur babies here. The staff is super sweet along as the drs. ❤️ My Roscoe was in great hands and they also kept me updated the whole time. I was super comfortable with leaving him here while he was getting treatments. I will be taking my babies here for there appointments from now on. 10/10. ❤️

Our 11 month frenchie had cherry eye while on a road trip through Texas. We found Above Ans Beyond online and the receptionist told us they didn’t have any appointments that day or the next but we could walk in and wait. Ten minutes later, she called us back and said that they would take us right away. They took us immediately, explained the process, reached out to our vet at home, and didn’t overcharge. They took care of our fur baby with medication and a cone.We were so pleased with their service and professionalism.

I was referred to this Vet by a coworker, I’m new to Lubbock and I needed to find a good one.First off, let me say that they have taken every precaution with Covid 19, they called and got all the information about my dog, they came out and got him, did everything and then the Bet called me to go over everything......I thought they were very professional and very friendly......

I took my dog there and the doctor figured out what was wrong in no time. She gave me options on what I could do and completely followed thru with the treatment. They even called me a few days later to check on him.

My husband took our dog for euthanasia and due to COVID the people at the clinic came outside and took our dog in.Our dog is 11, has bad hip and leg issues due to an injury as a puppy. She is in pain most of the time. We are seniors ourselves and cannot afford expensive treatments for our furbabies. Anyway the vet their said our dog was not ready to be euthanized and she would send a diet and care plan for our dog. So after $100.00 plus for meds shots etc. We still have no diet for our elderly dog that was to be emailed Friday and this is Sunday. Luckily I took notes while talking to the vet about the diet I was the be emailed.Also we took our younger dog 3 years old for shots. Was quoted a price of $200.00 plus. For checkup to get shots. As I said we are retired seniors, love our dogs and cat, and just have $$ for minimal care we ask for. I have COPD, my husband has heart issues, so we also have Dr. and meds.I am now worried if the vet at Above and beyond will give Chewy a script for my older dogs meds.Sorry if I confused anyone but that is how I feel about the service, pricing, and diet for my older dog. Guess I should have taken her to the vet we have for our 3 year old.

Ive been using above and beyond for the last 4 years for my dog and cat. They are very kind and helpful. My cat got very sick and had to stay over night. We were worried about what would happen to her. They called and updated us about her status and even called to check on her a few times after her visit. I wasnt sure what type of food to get my cat at the pet store and called them on Saturday there was no vets in the office but was able to get an email first thing Monday morning of some store brands they recommend.

Worst vet experience I’ve ever had by far! They cared more about taking my money than actually explaining to me what was going on with my pet. I would NOT recommend this place, the staff was nice, but there was an extremely rude doctor!

The staff and doctors are very kind and welcoming. New clinic is very nice and modern. Very clean in lobby and exam rooms. My pets love going to the clinic.

We have been using the services of boarding and healthcare for our dogs for the past 8 years. We are so glad that we found Above and Beyond. They have taken great care of us. Our dogs love going there. So sad that we had to move away from Lubbock recently. We will miss Above and Beyond.

The name says it all! We took our cat in who was suffering in great pain after 6 other vets refused to see her without payment upfront, above and beyond was concerned about the well being of our fur baby before payment. After making a dreadful decision they provided the best care and gave us an unexpected gift to remember our little one forever! I highly recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone with fur babies!!! I’ll never give my business to another vet after this experience. Thank to all the staff who cared for us and our kitty. You guys are truly amazing with big hearts!

I was so glad to find this vet about 3-4 years ago. After going through 3 other vet clinics ... Above and Beyond was the only clinic who diagnosed my dogs EPI. So why 2 stars?Well, the doctors that helped my dog have left and the company was sold to a national vet chain group. I have to get prescribed dog food and pancreatic powder. The powder is sold by Above and Beyond for $190. They do price match if I can find it online for cheaper and if the price doesnt go below their cost. It is regularly priced at $110 online. That means that even at $110 its not below their cost. So they are essentially doubling the price of the powder to sell me if I hadnt stumbled on the fact that they are willing to price match. They didnt offer that to me .. I had to ask for it.Recently I had to get the dew claws removed from one of my adult dogs. TL DR ....Above and Beyond = $1200Live Oak Animal Hospital (my new vet clinic) = $250I asked Above and Beyond what services were necessary and which ones were optional for dew claw removal. I was told by the vet they were all necessary and that was basically the price. Live Oak went through their pricing as well and gave me options with plenty of information to make decisions.Now that I think of it .... down to one star. No longer Above and Beyond. More like above and beyond reasonable pet care pricing.

Above and Beyond took excellent care of my cat, Kiko. He went in 11 days for boarding and they have a separate area for cats, completely away from dogs... which I LOVE! They also caught an ear infection that his regular vet somehow didnt catch. They gave me 10% off boarding for being a new customer. I travel for work a lot and will be using this boarding service as my first choice in the future.

New to area and moved in down the street. Staff was upbeat and helpful in getting my baby girl all taken care of. Asked more questions about puppy than my Dr ever asks about me. They handled my overly enthusiastic and energetic puppy with cool demeanor and care. Highly recommended them for your furry family needs.

Above and Beyond...Not so much... Called and got an estimate and made a appointment to board our 2 dogs. This entailed communicating what services were needed for their 3 day stay. Update all boosters, nail clip and bath. Seems simple enough right? At drop off was put through a up-sale drill and asked if I brought food?!? No one at the time of the appointment said we would have to bring food! Told the young lady to just stick to the services asked for when we made the appointment. When we called to let them know we were coming to pick them up we were told they had to dry after the bath, so we waited 4 hours then went to pick up our dogs. Still dirty and un-bathed which we were told was the reason for the delay. We were then told that service was unchecked at the drop off. what they needed time to do was clip their nail, not dry from their bath. I know this because smallest dog bled on our seat on the way home because in their rush they carelessly cut her nails to close. Unbelievable right. It gets worse. We arranged to have our 2 dogs sleep together. That didnt happen. We were told they would be taken out for potty breaks 3 time daily and twice left for a while in a common area to play..... One of our perfectly house broken dogs that has never had potty issues, now poops in her bed! I could not be more upset at the total lack of service for our animals. They are both rescues and we feel an eminence responsibility to insure these animals have the best life going forward in their lives. The whole experience just makes me want to vomit. Never again!

Everyone here is so caring and dedicated to helping your pet. They go literally above and beyond. They keep in contact with you if your pet is sick, they help you with any question you have, and they are always so attentive and gentle and just so genuine.

Weve used A&BPC since we moved to Lubbock and the staff is always friendly and loving towards our dog. We feel he gets good care there and would recommend this business to others.

I have a bit of a long story to tell, but it HAS to be heard. Im driving down Indiana Ave Monday and see a female Scottie dog get hit by a car. The car kept going, of course and by the time my wife and I got turned around and back to the dog, she was sitting up in the middle of Indiana with a line of cars just swerving around her. We pull into the turning lane and I walk into traffic to grab the dog and when I reached down to grab her (I know better) she bit me, repeatedly on the hands. I scooped her up and sat down in the drivers seat, both the dog and I bleeding but not sure what is what. She calmed down as I squeezed her to my chest, and my wife drove us to our own vet, Cooper Veterinary clinic. When we arrived, my wife ran in as I am still clutching the wounded and terrified dog to my chest. The vet tech that greeted my wife inside of Cooper said The vet is out to lunch, there is nothing we can do... and told us we needed to go to Above and Beyond Animal Hospital (its new location on south University) When we arrive at Above & Beyond, the dog still bleeding on me and me bleeding on the dog, there is a sign on the door that says Closed for Staff Meeting from 12-2pm My wife knocks on the locked glass doors (she can see the entire staff sitting right inside the doors) and someone reluctantly comes to greet her, with tears in her eyes at this point, she tells them the situation, and that we have already been turned away once. Can you guess what Above & Beyond said to my wife? I am sorry, but we are having our scheduled staff meeting, we cannot help you. You should take the dog to Live Oak Animal Hospital. At this point, I am furious, but cant get out of the car as I am holding on to the dog who is still conscious but getting more restless. We then drive all the way to Live Oak where a sweet vet tech came straight to the car, muzzled the Scottie and took her from me, then got me a first aid kit and showed me to the bathroom. The dog was chipped so the owners were contacted, and she is now recovering while in quarantine (rabies purposes) and I go tomorrow to get the 4 stitches removed from my right hand. Rough day, happy ending!I dont know if Vets take a hippocratic oath, but a room full of medical professionals turned away a dying dog and and bleeding man so that they could complete their middle of the day staff meeting. ABOVE AND BEYOND should lose their license to operate, and certainly doesnt deserve to profit off of the good people of Lubbock.TLDR: Took a bloody, dying, collared and tagged dog first to Cooper Veterinary clinic and was turned away because the vet was at lunch, then to ABOVE & BEYOND in the middle of the day during business hours, and was turned away by a room full of medical professionals so they could complete their staff meeting. The dog and I both got some stitches and everything turned out fine thanks to Live Oak Animal Hospital. I will update this with a pic of the puppy when I see her at Live Oak later...

This place is money hungry. They seem to only care about charging you for every little thing and not your pets well being!

Above and beyond have been awesome -- they help figure out an obscure autoimmune disorder (plasma cell pododermatitis) my cat has and helped find a cheap way to manage to ongoing care that it requires.Plus Doctor Jay geeks out over medical knowledge -- if you want an expert for your pet, someone who is that enthusiastic about always learning is tops!

Friendly staff always been treated with the upmost respect. They took in my pit bull at last minute when I could not get an appointment anywhere else.

Excellent pet clinic. Let us come in an hour before closing to deal with my dogs issues. Not only that, recommended a cheaper solution that we could do ourselves. Really, a great vet.

Although this is not our usual vet, we saw him in an emergency. He was great with our dog (& us). He also called to follow up. His receptionist & vet tech were also friendly & helpful.

My dog was recently attacked by other dogs. I was rushing into and out of other vet clinics that refused my device when I finally came here. I walked in and they quickly got my dog into a room to examine and treat him. I highly reccommend this clinic due to the hospitality, cleanness, and the concern they showed for my dog. This clinic rushed my dog in even though they were closing soon and told us they would stay until our dog was better. They showed great concern and care therefore, this is a great vet clinic that I always highly reccommended.

We have been taking our dog to Above and Beyond since 2012. They always seemed to take pretty good care of her but our last few visits have been less than stellar.Last month Dr. Abdul-Hamid gave us a quote for a dental cleaning- $1,050-$1,219! We had her teeth cleaned there about four years ago at half of the price. We also had a very expensive bill last fall when my dog was sick. Im not sure why their prices have risen so ridiculously.So I went to another vet that came highly recommended and got a quote for the cleaning-less than $400. He also disagreed with Dr. Hamids plan to pull multiple teeth, saying only one MIGHT need to be pulled but he will decide during the cleaning.Im not sure what changed at Above and Beyond but due to the soaring prices, we will not be back.

I have been taking my German Shepherd here since he was a baby. All the techs are very sweet to him and always love to play with him before his visits. There is always treats for him while he waits and his name on the welcome board. Prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for.

This is a WONDERFUL place to take your animals if you are looking for a group of people who love animals and want the best life for your pets! Our first experience with AABPCH was when Dr. Oden & his team were so compassionate and understanding after we took my sister’s cat in when her quality of life had deteriorated drastically. They were very respectful and did not rush the process of saying goodbye. After just this one experience, our family knew that our other animals would be well cared for at Above & Beyond. Between my parents and I, we have six animals (4 dogs & 2 cats) that are seen by the great staff there! Oh! And the new facility is very nice as well!

I wish I could give zero stars for this hospital. They refused to treat my feline without 500.00 down and that is BEFORE we knew if he would even need surgery. Did not even want to negotiate a payment plan, and when I did not get approved for care credit, these vets that love and care for animals so very much, started telling me places that have pretty cheap euthanasia. I just brought my cat home to die because a vet that is supposed to love animals cant wait until Friday to get paid. But Ill bet if it was their pet or familys pet, he would have been stitched up in no time.EDIT:The day after I brought my cat home, I got an email from this vet on CANINE vaccinations he may need. Also, they did give me the numbers to two different vet clinics that they said offered payment plans, but neither of them does. So yes, thank you for looking at my cat.

Beneath its beautiful and clean exterior, Above and Beyond Pet Care Hospital suffers from some of the worst customer service Ive experienced. Technicians abound but are often incompetent, have terrible communication skills and the waiting time is incomprehensible; even with an appointment. This practice, although claims to be compassionate, is nothing short of your old fashioned business. Prices are high, appointments are over-booked and the practicing doctor only remains for a few minutes in the consulting room with a need to rush. Dr. Keri Ford is a pompous, condescending person who needs to learn a few manners when speaking to her paying clientele. Please do not be glamourized by its polished facade, there are indeed better Pet Hospitals with more compassionate staffs and doctors. Take your business and family members elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Above and Beyond for a year and a half. I love my cats and was looking for a vet that would give them extra special care and A&B does that. Even when I don’t have an appointment, I don’t have to wait longer than 10-15 minutes to get into an exam room. I’ve been to around a dozen vets in my life and none have ever asked whether I’d like my cat to be DNR or get CPR. That really impressed me at my initial visit. When my cats have had surgery at A&B, I have been provided with EKG readings and their vital signs (BP, SaO2, heart rate) during the procedure. I don’t know how they got a blood pressure on a cat but I love that they did.I was also looking for consistency when I chose A&B. I didn’t want a revolving door in terms of staff turnover. In the year and a half that I’ve been taking my cats here, all levels of staff have pretty much stayed the same people. To me, this says that what goes on behind the scenes is working. If the staff are sticking around, they must be happy to work there and happy staff = happy patients.For the past couple of months, I’ve really put the people who work at A&B through their paces. My cat was diagnosed with an aggressive and fast metastasizing terminal cancer. In trying to treat him, Dr Thomas was his main vet but I’ve seen every doctor there including the chiropractor & all have been wonderful. Dr Thomas had either discussed his case with them or left detailed notes in his chart that they read before entering the room because I never had to play catch up with the other vets. I demanded that every available avenue of pain control be explored to keep my cat comfortable for as long as possible (a lofty goal for a diagnosis of terminal cancer). When I arrived 30 minutes before closing the Friday before July 4th weekend, Dr Hardin coordinated with Dr Thomas to get a prescription for pain meds called in to a pharmacy so that my cat wouldn’t have to go without through the long weekend. When I boarded my cat one weekend, Dr Thomas HAND FED him to get him to eat – that really meant a lot to me. Dr Thomas called a radiologist and oncologist in bigger cities to explore treatment and diagnostic options for my cat. A few weeks before we knew how grave my cat’s situation was, Dr Thomas had the foresight to save the tumor she had initially removed from his shoulder so that I could later have it sent to a pathologist to find out what kind of cancer my cat had. Drs Thomas, Hardin, and Ledford were never in a hurry to get out of the exam room when I brought my cat in and Dr Ledford SAT DOWN and discussed end of life questions with me until I felt I had enough answers. I called the secretaries so often that they either recognized my voice or my number but they never acted like I was bothering them. And the technicians were always kind to my cat and said nice things about him even though he growled.When they put my cat to sleep, they allowed me to pay in the back so that I wouldn’t have to wait in line crying in the front, they dimmed the lights to make it more comfortable for my cat, and the tech was able to get an IV started without any trouble even though I know his veins were dehydrated. The next day they sent me flowers which makes me believe that they genuinely cared about the cat that I loved with all my heart. And that was the most important thing in the world to me – they genuinely cared.

I just took my 7 month dog in for nail trim and had a bad feeling about this place from the start....they dont know their prices....and definitely dont know how to treat a customer....they took her back to trim her nails and I could hear the vet yelling at her from the exam room....then I hear my dog cry...shortly after the vet comes back and tells me they have to quarantine my dog for rabies since she bit the vet and on top of that charge me $400 for the 10 days shes gonna stay there...needless to say I took her somewhere else to be quarantined immediately.....im taking legal measures in this case because no pet should be treated like that......highly regret coming to this place!!!..please take your pets somewhere else....pets are mistreated here!!
