Frank helped me get my first surfboard he made sure it was the right size and weight for me. It was great that he also made sure my life vest was a good fit. I loved the experience! We showed him a video of me surfing and he gave me some great pointers which has helped me a lot! Overall I loved it and they were really nice and answered some questions I had. We will definitely me going back and recommending this shop to all of our friends and family!!

While visiting my son and daughter in law, I had the pleasure to sup yoga on Lake Byron. The class was great, but unfortunately, my daughter in law got an awful case of morning sickness and would not be able to ride our bikes back home. Stopped in to inquire about upgrading my skis and Adam was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining all my options. We decided on a pair that seemed to be the right fit and Frank, the owner, worked with me to offer a really great deal on the skis plus bindings. Because I currently live out of state, they were nice enough to box up the skis so I could bring them on my flight. Frank and his team truly went above and beyond and I will absolutely be coming back here when I move out to CO this summer!!

Been here 3-4 times, each time the man I assume to be the owner has been pushy and down right uncomfortable to be around. Never seen anything to this level at any other business. Shame as we would love to support a local business.

Very pushy salesman who told me he “would put his reputation” on the paddle board I purchased. Said paddle board lasted about 30 minutes in the water before it was too low on air to float.

Its shops like this one that make you want to support local businesses even more. Asiah went above and beyond when offering suggestions and answering questions for me. Frank gave me a great deal on a SUP setup that was waaaay better than any big box stores could offer. This is a great place!

Paxton is an extremely knowledgeable snowboard seller and only recommends the best stuff for you. He will make sure that you are taken care of and will only give the best service. Extremely impressed. Will only be shopping here from now on.

They get 2 stars for existing, other than that they are pretty unbearable. They earn most their money off of fleecing the unknowing beginner/intermediate into overpriced gear and will play the pity game if you dont want to purchase something. I am a customer not a charity. Had a tune done and was less than impressed. Bases were dry and the wax was not appropriate temp for colorado winters. Felt like velcro until it wore off and edges were far from sharp. The prices and poor tune would be forgivable if the service wasnt so hyper used-car-salesmen aggressive. I will gladly drive by this shop and hit scheels or drive far out of town to another shop before considering mountain rentals and I suggest others do the same.

Mountain rentals inc is hands down the best place to go for a new setup or anything in between. Will is the The gentleman that helped me out and it was my first ever setup and I couldn’t be happier with the way it performed I went from falling all day on a rental board to being able to rip down the mountain. The technicians at mountain rentals have to be some of the best I have ever worked with. They laid out multiple options within my budget all quality merchandise. All in all I believe one of the techs spent nearly 2 hours answering technical questions and doing everything he could to make sure I was happy with my purchase. The owner is extremely personable and a delight to work with as well. I came up from Denver and was definetly worth the drive out of the way.

Great place to get your rentals. I hadnt skied in 15 years and these guys helped me get all the equipment I needed for me and my family. Super friendly, and gave me a discount on all the gear I bought. We even had a ski pole break during our trip and they didnt even hassle us about it. This will be the only place we ever go for our ski needs.

The guys were super helpful helping me find goggles that would fit over my glasses. They also got me fitted for a ski rental quickly.

I just bought my second stand up paddle board (SUP) from Frank and his team at Mountain Rentals. What a pleasant surprise to have such excellent customer service still in a world where everyone is going to big box stores thinking they will save a buck. Not only did they sell me the paddle boards and accessories, they let me demo several boards until I found the one I wanted and assisted me along the entire process. You wont that kind of service from the Internet or a big box store! And the prices, once you do your research on what you are buying, are VERY competitive. I highly recommend them for local ski rentals and purchases too. I have rented skis there for years.. so much easier than dealing with renting on the mountain and eventually bought my skis, poles and boots from them. One of the best experiences Ive had purchasing skis. Not only do they have a knowledgeable staff, they have genuine interest in you having a great experience using the products they recommend. We recently rented a tube here. There was a bit of a problem with availability, but the owner stepped in and made sure everything was right, and we were taken care of. I never like to be inconvenienced, but these folks did a great job and made it right.

I wanted to give my husband something he had really wanted for awhile for his birthday. The used car salesman sold us trucks that were already put together. Thats cool. Then I bought the hardware to attach them to the longboard. That hardware wasnt used. This little kid put on 2 bolts instead. He put these on so horribly that the paint got scratched. So, for $104 he got back a board that didnt use the product I paid for, scratched the paint and told us we should be happy with the upgrade.Note to business:Give the client what they want and paid for. If some dude asks for a rattail mullet, give it to him! Do not give him a high and tight flattop and tell him it was an upgrade.

I will keep giving Frank and his establishment my business. What sealed the deal was Franks advice on getting my two year old going on a Burton Chopper versus buying a cheap living room roamer.

Best ski shop in the area! These guys are so passionate and so knowledgeable but will make you feel at home; something you don’t get everywhere. I wanted to buy a snowboard and was worried about being judged and laughed at for not knowing what I wanted but instead the staff here took time to understand the sort of rider I aspire to be and found a board that would fit my preferences and challenge me to be better; all without judgement! I felt so great knowing I came away with exactly the right gear for my needs. Their experience and attention to detail really sets them apart from ski shops I’ve been to in the past; everything from boot fitting to outerwear fit, these guys are experts at it all! I will definitely be going back whenever I need anything else and can’t recommend them enough.

All the ski resorts in CO closed due to executive order and my brother and I had rentals for today that we had just picked up. We came in and before we could even say anything the owner came up to us and said he was putting credits on our account to rent this season or next or even just to use towards gear in the shop. I know the industry is getting hit hard right now and i was worried about having to ask for money back but it’s a huge stress off after coming in. Will continue to stay local and rent/shop here.

Frank did us well, he explained how my skies from 15 years ago were not worth investing in anymore, and how the set we got for free years ago for my wife were dead and old. he found us a great deal on some HEAD demo boots and skies. They were a great price, he also, gave us a great deal for my wife to rent a set for a week while we were up at Copper MT. The kids boards were waxed and edged with a reasonable price. The owner and his crew are so experienced, prompt, efficient, friendly and overall helpful for everyone from a novice to expert snowboarder / skier finding the right equipment. Clothing, gloves, eye wear, snowboards, skies, boots, bindings, water skies, wake boards and a HUGE PADDLE BOARD selection!! My family has gone since the 80s and Ive referred so many family and friends throughout the years. I most definitely recommend Mountain Rentals for your winter and summer gear. Frank is an extremely aggressive and condescending know-it-all. I went here based on great reviews, but was very disappointed in the way he treated me. I understand he probably knows his stuff, but to have him verbally bash the new skis that I spent $500 on was unacceptable. It’s sad that I will not go here again, because I know the other employees are great, but I simply do not trust my skis in the hands of someone who treated me so harshly. This is the first google review I have ever left for a business, because I wish to inform people what they are dealing with before they have to actually deal with it. If you can avoid Frank, then your experience will be positive. But if you come in contact with him, be prepared to be lectured on why the skis you bought were not the right kind.

Frank, the owner of Mountain Rentals, provides exceptional customer service. I took a K2 ski that had delaminated to Frank to see what he would recommend I do with it. I had not bought this ski from Frank, and it was uncertain whether the damage would be covered under warranty. Frank took pictures of the damaged ski, email the pictures to K2, called them up, and got them to cover this damage under warranty. I consider this kind of service above and beyond what I would expect from any ski shop owner. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for great equipment and great service!

My fisrt experience at this shop I came in for a set of bindings. It was late in the evening, pretty slow and what I assume to be the owner of the shop was laying in to the employees in the middle of the store about how to sell more products and what they’re doing wrong all the time ( in no way constructive criticism at all ) it was very awkward even being in there while this was going on. Very unprofessional!Seccond experience I call on a Saturday about bringing in a new snowboard for a hot wax, the employee that answered the phone tells me that since the board is new they recommend me getting the edges de-burred with the hot wax. I said great and asked if they could get it done that same day, the man said no problem bring it in right away and I’ll have it done in one hour. I drove from Greeley to get this done at 12pm and the same man that I assume to be the owner tells me no way can they get it done on a Saturday unless I come back at 6pm to pick it upI understand businesses can be difficult to run and it’s a busy industry but the vibes and the way people are talked to at this place infront of customers was unacceptableI’ll be looking for a new small business to supportEven if it means driving a little further to Fort Collins

Dont go in unless you are positive you are going to buy something or you will be interrogated by the owner about why you didnt buy anything. Very uncomfortable situation and terrible to treat a customer like that. He makes you feel pressured to buy expensive gear and if you dont, he makes you feel like you wasted his time. Thats his job to help you find the best gear for you, not just supply you with the wrong gear just so he can make money. Bad business ethics.
