Colorado Piano works is owned and operated by Hank Lea. Hank rebuilt two pianos for me. The first was an c.1895 Weber that needed complete restoration after being botched by a well-intended person. Hank completely gutted the works and restored everything to like-new condition. His workmanship and attention to detail was nonpareil. Every screw was removed and polished. Old iron parts were chrome re-plated. Missing parts were fabricated in his complete shop. The piano was refinished with a darker mahogany stain and the piano looked so new and different, it was hard to believe it was the same instrument. The other restoration was a 1901 Ivers and Pond upright that was complete, but needed refinishing and all internals gone over. Again, this piano looked like it just came off the factory floor when Hank completed his magic. All metal parts were polished bright. Hammers were replaced. Strings replaced. Both pianos had cracked sound boards, the heart of any piano. After rework, the sound from both was magnificent.Hank is very personable, professional, and quite picky about his work. He does nothing half-way. He is very results-oriented and thoroughly enjoys his work. With a touch of Old-World craftsmanship, Hank has created a unique piano service built around his desire to do the best for his customers. I highly recommend Colorado Piano Works to anyone who cares about their beloved piano and wants nothing but the best.
