My review has not to do with the therapists even though 1 cancels a lot and the other saw my daughter 6 times and then just quit. Some messages from Lauri were passed through them to me as well. Kidstuff as a whole and Lauri Underwood is VERY unprofessional and Lauri shouldnt be in upper management, at all.I am happy to be moving my kids to another therapy clinic!!
Had a referral here from our pediatrician. Called to book an appointment and was told commercial insurance users have a very long wait-list. However, if we would like to pay out of pocket $80 per session (that does not go towards our insurance deductible), we can help you out right away. How is that even remotely helpful to an average monied family? I wonder how many kids in our area, like my daughter, are out here continuing to suffer at school because yall are more worried about making an extra buck than you are HELPING CHILDREN?
Cindy is awesome awesome awesome! With just a short time of working with her shes has turned our family around, I am so thankful for all of her hard work and dedication...best therapist me and my family have ever been too! Im excited to see where our future takes us!!! AMAZING!
Anne is the best. Genuinely cares for her patients and gives amazing advice. Cant thank her enough
Cindy Lennox is an excellent therapist at Kidstuff Therapy. I struggled to find a therapist for my teen with very challenging medical and psychiatric issues. Cindy is able to find a way in and meet your child on their level. Working with Cindy created some much-needed ownership and accountability; allowing my child to move forward.
We had a wonderful experience here! Cynthia Lennox worked with my son for about a year and taught him some really great coping strategies that he continues to use daily. We always know we have a place to go if anything stressful comes up in the future. I highly recommend Kids Stuff!
From the moment we walked in, our family has found a safe place to bring our hurts and challenges. My kids have found a place to share their feelings without having to articulate them in words. Playing out their hurts and feelings has opened up the doors to their minds and hearts. It has given us the opportunity to understand the pain they have faced and facilitate healing for those hurts. Julie has given our family support, tools and fresh ideas with every meeting. We have found the joy in blending two more children into our family because we were able to work through the hurts that were disguised as behaviors. While not an easy journey, this has been a transformational one full of growth and love! Thank you Julie and KidStuff Counseling for the way you have helped our family heal.
Went to an intake appointment with my son. was called 1 hour before my appointment to get it cancelled because the counselor, who was very nice, was not under my insurance. I specifically called to begin with to ask who was under my insurance. I was told that they were doing me a favor because I didnt get charged $120. What kind of business doesnt take responsibility for the things that they do. If I would have gotten an apology from Fran it would have been better. Instead she talked over me the whole time and at the end of everything she said it was OK?. I think people like Fran should not be doing this. After she took all my information I was told that she would probably not be able to find me anyone any way because there was nothing in after school hours. Why then did I waste my time to be on the phone. Also, I went to in intake for someone who cannot help me now. I want my $30 copay back. Again my counselor was very nice, but the person running the scheduling, Fran, was just talking at me the whole time. I hope that she gets some training to know how to handle customers who have been wronged better.Edit: This is a response to the companys response. I called my insurance and they gave me a list of people that were credentialed. I called the number listed. I got your help line, Fran, she told me that Jennifer, my kids counselor, was credentialed with United Healthcare. At that point, when I ask who take my insurance, you say that you do and this person can. That is no my fault. my insurance is not responsible for you decision to tell me that. Nice try. lol.
I am shocked at how unprofessional this therapy office is. I waited 2 weeks for an appointment for my daughter then I was no showed by the therapist. I took off work and pulled my kid out of school to make the time work for them. The front office had no information on what was happening. About 30 minutes later I received 6 phone calls from an unlisted number. I didnt answer not knowing who was calling. It turns out it was the therapist who didnt show for the appointment. She left no apology or explanation. I tried to call back and was sent to voicemail. All I can say is do not go here if you value your time. I am sure some of the therapists are great but they need to get rid of the ones who do not show up for people.
Laurie and her team are amazing clinicians! I wholeheartedly recommend them.
The staff at Kidstuff have always been extremely friendly and helpful, and their passion for helping people is evident in everything they do. They have been willing to work around my crazy ever-changing schedule, and made it easy for me to come back to appointments after taking a several-year hiatus. Everyone I talked to over the phone when setting up an initial appointment and figuring out my insurance was very professional. Out of the few counselors Ive met with in the past, Laurie is the warmest, and I always felt very respected and like we were speaking on equal grounds (Ive had past experiences with other places where I felt rather talked down to). I was very surprised by the few negative comments I saw on here (though I suppose all businesses have a few) - but maybe some people become more impatient/rigid when they are feeling the anxiety of trying to find a new counselor. I love the people ar Kidstuff and the passion they have for their goal!
Wow we have loved this place and recommend it all the time!!! My daughter had been seeing Miss Jenny for over a two years now on an as needed basis. We have loved the staff here and my daughter made significant progress on overcoming her separation anxiety. We started out on a weekly basis and have moved to as needed. I was shocked to see negative posts on the business at all. Intake took a little while to get set up, but this is typical in mental health. I really appreciated the time they took to find a perfect fit for my daughter. It did not take more than a few weeks to get going. Once we got going we had no issues whatsoever with scheduling.
I absolutely love Cindy and my son loves Julie! They are amazing therapists and Im grateful for them, hence the 4 stars. As far as the front office staff goes, I am very displeased with the lack of professionalism and communication. Its been an ongoing problem since I 1st came here in February 2017. Its a shame its still an ongoing problem.
Our family has been seeing Anne for a while now, and i am so extremely thankful for her! She is professional, kind, and has a huge heart, which gives her the ability to hear what my kid was and wasnt saying. We have seen so much growth in our child and in our family. Thank Anne!
I am really surprised at of few of these negative reviews and cant help but wonder if some of these folks are the ones really needing therapy. Weve been bringing our daughter to Kidstuff for several months now. She has been making wonderful progress and we absolutely love our therapist. Furthermore, the front desk staff have always been extremely courteous and nothing but kind and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone.
We’ve had a great experience so far. Making the appointment was quick and easy. Michelle was wonderful during our intake appointment and we’re really excited for the next appointment.
Third cancellation for my son. Cant really review them because it seems they are either to busy to keep the appointments they make. Or the scheduling person doesnt really know what is going on in the office. Or the providers are flaky and dont keep appointments. Will never have a chance to evaluate their services.
I was surprised to see the one star reviews on here... My son has been going to KidStuff since May 2017. As far as the initial intake goes when I first reached out it took a week to get into his evaluation appointment and then maybe another week tops to get him a regular therapist. Hes been seeing the same therapist once a week same day same time with no issues. Natalie has been a miracle for my son and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for mental health services for their child.
Dont waste your time. I would give this place a 0. The staff at the facility is completely unprofessional. My daughter had a intake take appointment, we were greeted by Gabrelle and immediately was told the gal that was doing her intake wasnt there but on her way. Five min later was told she wasnt coming. She did see if anyone else was available which there wasnt. I declined to reschedule at that time and left. What bothered me was the fact that this girl lied, she knew that gal was not coming.. Fast forward later that afternoon my husband called to express his disappointment with the scheduling error. Lindsey told him that I just walked out (not true) then back peddled saying that if I stayed longer then I would have known someone in fact was available but she wasnt going to chase me. Now typically when you are told no one can see you, you typically leave. Especially when they have wasted enough of your time. It is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional to deflect your scheduling error to some how being your customers fault. Clearly this type of scheduling error happens frequently based on other reviews. Christine (supervisior) you should expect for your office staff to be highly professional and to have basic customer service skills, which clearly is not your priority.
Love Cindy.... She is the best. They see little people and old people too.
Love this place. Awsome therapist.
Impossible to actually talk to someone. Absolutely no follow through with communication. When the counselor didnt show up for our initial intake, we were expected to bend over bwckward again to reschedule. Expected to pull my child out of school again. If we would have no showed....we would have been expected to pay. All we got was a whoops sorry now bend over backward for our schedule and not yours. This place is completely negligent!!!!!!
Cindy is excellent. Have been seeing her for about 6 months and I couldnt be happier.
We had a sit down meeting with these people. They said it would take up to a week to get my child into counseling. We are over a month out and no contact. I have emailed AND called and they said there was family issues with their counselors and they were behind but I would get a call back with in two days because they were back in the office. STILL over a month out and still no contact and we had to find someone else to meet with out child because this place cant contact people back. Very disappointing to see they let kids fall and dont care to help.
