Amazing selection. Great customer service. This is a hidden gem. My grandaughter and I went to purchase a starter sewing machine and Janet helped us find the perfect model. Also every type notions and fabrics you could want. We love it. We WILL be back!

They have an EXCELLENT staff, fabric selection, threads, sewing machines, patterns, etc. The ladies are incredibly helpful, and theyre very patient.When I came in for the first time, I didnt really know what I was doing with my sewing machine, and they were incredibly patient and taught me the basics even though I didnt buy it there. They service and sell sewing machines of ALL DIFFERENT SORTS! It is crazy. I didnt even know that there were that many different machines with sew many uses.Their fabric is top quality, and they have classes and tons of patterns.

Salesperson hovered over my mother and I after I mentioned I was in the market for an embroidery machine. Talked down to me, felt the need to read the cards for me rather than letting me shop. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, and it’s already a cramped space, the last thing I need is someone reading for me.I also brought in a basic Husqvarna that needed repairs, and the technician at the repair counter is the ONLY reason why this review has more than one star. He was honest and helpful, but it ultimately couldn’t be fixed. I appreciated that he let me know upfront it would be more expensive than a new basic machine to get it running at all, and it still would not work like new.On the way out the door with the old machine, the saleswoman went out of her way to say I had their permission to throw it in the dumpster they share with McDonalds. Whether she intended it or not, incredibly rude! I was prepared to spend upwards of $3000 for a new machine, but not there now. I was really hoping to find a licensed dealer to work with on this purchase, but it definitely won’t be them after this.

If you enjoy being talked down to then this is your place to go. They have treated us bad each of the 3 times we have went in causing us to take our business elsewhere. This last time we went in to ask about an industrial sewing machine saying that no one can get these but yet we had already known where else we could get these machines. Very rude business that we will not ever frequent again.

They were very helpful with our purchase. They sold us a sewing machine based on our actual needs instead of price. The nice lady who helped us also helped my mom get into the car when she was having trouble. Excellent customer service!

Great local place for sewing machine repairs, as well as sewing supplies

I went into see if they could put a ruffler foot on my sewing machine for me and they were so kind and helped me put it on the right way. She took the time to retread it and put bobbin in and showed me the right settings to put it on. I was so happy to get it working. It was a good experience and I even learned a thing or two. I would recommend Austins Sewing Center to anyone.

Amazing place for all those who sew & quilt. Never saw such awesome new sewing machines. They are ccx working on old machine. Needs good over haul!

WOW, oh my goodness. All of those beautiful machines. I saw somebody getting trained on a sawing machine. Only a few people allowed in the store.They helped me with understanding how best to do my project. I stayed so long in the store that I got a visit from my daughter. LoL.got the things that I needed for this time they gave me information and go online to research some stuff so I can know no better about what else I need it since I didnt quite know all that I wanted to do. It was an exciting and a wonderful experience and I will be shipping there more.

Dropped Machine off they had if for 2 months, brought it home and it did not work. Living 50 Miles away took it back the following week. They told my wife she did not know how to sew said they fixed it while she waited and they did not fix it, brought it home and still not working. When if fact my wife has 30 years experience. Took it back today and they said they wanted another 50.00 not refundable deposit because it has been more than 60 days (they had it 60 days when in fact we only had it in our custody for a total of 2 weeks and two returns in which it did not work when they said it was fixed because of our commute being over 100 miles roundtrip. This is a rip off, charged 50.00 not refundable say they fix it when it fact they do nothing but tell you that you do not know how to use your machine. Best to find someone who can work on your machine unless you want to be ripped off. Stay away, when my wife asked the gentlemen about the 60 day warranty they had if for 60 days and thats when he started the warranty time from the time they took it for repair what a joke this place is

On my 1st visit, the staff there greeted me with a friendly smile and assisted me with my sewing machine, plus gave me some pointers on how to use some of the features on my machine as well as helped me choose the right threads.

Really nice staff who always remember me, even if its been half a year since Ive been there. They have a lot of quilting fabric as well as fashion fabric. They have a huge selection of sewing machines & very knowledgeable staff. They also have a lot of quality threads to choose from. You never have to worry about parking here--the lot is huge!

Love this local sewing center. I am not a sewer/ quilter but my mother is, so we frequently shop here. They are always very helpful and took a spent a great amount of time helping my Mom purchase the best sewing machine to fit her needs and always provide helping tips for sewing and quilting! And great fabric selection. It pays to shop local!

I met the owner and she is very knowledgeable about all her services. She also had a smile on her face the whole time my wife and I was here. I will return here.

Was rudely asked to leave for not wearing a mask. First time in there and it was obviously not a good fist impression from this place. Will stick to Joann and hobby lobby. Will not be going back. More than anything it was the was the way this lady talked to me. Very disrespectful.. they lost my business.

Austins is the only place I take my Janome Sewing and Embroidery Machines to be cleaned, serviced and fixed. Just before Christmas my Embroidery machine broke, while in the midst of making Christmas presents. I took both my machines in. It too a little over 2 weeks when the called to tell me my sewing machine was done. It took longer for the embroidery machine because they had to order parts. With the Covid19 Virus it took a while for the parts to be shipped in. Once they received it 2 days later they called to tell me it was ready to be picked up. Everything is working perfectly.

My first visit there today. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I will visit again. Store appeared to be well stocked with both machines and accessories.

Would have been better if the person that answered the phone would have been e at costumer service. They where short and unhelpful.

Highly recommend Austins Sewing Center! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff! Brought in an old Singer from Goodwill and they had all the replacement parts in stock and made sure I had the correct bobbin and even showed me how to avoid tension problems on my machine. Also, they can service any machine and have very reasonable prices!

My son found Austins Sewing Center because he knows his mother:). Janice was nice we chat while she cut fabric. The selections were very good and I enjoy it very much. My son and husband did go with me(they found chairs to took a seat while I shop). I am going back on my next visit. Thanks Janice for everything. I got my server back from servicing and it broke the first stitch that I sewed- they wanted another $50 to repair. According to the owner, $50 is the bench charge no matter what they do to the machine. The lady that rung me up said she was trying to get the owner to adjust the charge, but the owner would not relent. I was looking for a good place to have my sewing machine and serger repaired upon moving to Louisville and this will certainly not be it!

Just bought a Babylock ruffling foot!! Ive wanted one for years and I cant wait to try it out tonight! I did get a 15% discount for this being my first time at Austins, which is nice since Babylock accessories can be a bit pricey. Teresa was very helpful and I didnt feel pressured to buy. She actually tried to find a cheaper option for me, but I decided to go with this.Thanks, Ill be bringing my machines here soon for servicing.

Janome dealers carry and are able to order Janome products and accessories. Period. It doesnt matter of store staff are familiar with the item or not. I was given the runaround and spoken to in the most condescending manner by the buttheads at Austins, only to call Janome and have them send me the part I needed. . .FOR FREE.

Id give them zero stars if I could. I called regarding a power cord for a Janome machine since Austins is listed as one of only two authorized dealers in Louisville. I was told by Janet that she believed they had the cord, but to bring the old one to be sure; I did so the next day (Fri, 28 July).I was greeted by an associated who clearly doesnt know her butt from her ears, because instead of simply helping me after I gave a comprehensive overview of my need, she went to EVERY associate in the store and asked if they were the one with whom Id spoken to the day before. One prude witch with dark hair, must have thought she was talking to herself, because she spoke to me like I was four years-old, at one point even asking me if the machine for which I was looking to purchase the cord, was a toy. She was flippant, smug and patronizing in everything she said to me. However, when one of her friends and her son came in, she was just as nice as she could be.The clueless sales associate who chose to try to put me off on others, instead of helping me herself, then took me to Janet. Instead of allowing me to speak for myself (I hate when people speak for me when Im present and able to talk for myself), she told Janet what shed told the two other employees before.After some back and forth with Janet, she went to look for the cord. They didnt have it. Fine, no problem, but according to Janome, Austins is an authorized dealer because not only do they sell their products, but theyre able to service them and order parts. Therefore, the cord I needed, shouldve been ordered with no fuss. After all, I was clearly ready to PAY FOR IT.Simply put, the first associate shouldve helped me. It mattered not if Id spoken to Big Bird when I called, going to every other employee to ask if theyd talked to me wasnt necessary, she shouldve walked her butt to the cords, checked to see if the one I needed was there, then offered to order it for me when she realized they didnt. That simple.I take pride in buying local, but when customer service sucks like it did at this place, Im reminded of one of the many reasons why small business people lose customers to chains. Confirming that I wasnt off base with my frustration from my experience: I called Janome and the first thing the rep said was, Youll need to go to Austins or _____________ (named the other store that is an authorized dealer) and have them order it.If the crabby old bitties at Austins think theyre too good to serve customers, then they should close. I was and still am disgusted. Do yourself a favor and dont shop here, theyre only nice to their friends who come in and shop.

Took over a month to service my embroidery machine! They broke part of the casing and lost my hoop. They blamed the broken piece on me. They did give me someone elses hoop, I told them that s is not mine but they told me to take it! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN!! VERY RUDE!
