Michaelis went above and beyond for our May 2021 wedding! Our original wedding date had to be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and our caterers cancelled. Michaelis was able to take over and deliver an amazing meal and experience for us and our guests! Crystal was a wonderful guide who helped every step of the way and was always available to answer my questions and work with me when I made last minute changes to our plans! I am so glad we stumbled upon them as our wedding caterers; I wouldnt have wanted another event service working with us on our big day!

I was in the process of looking for caterers for my upcoming wedding. I was looking at local caterers and stumbled upon Michaelis Events. Upon reviewing thier website I realized that alot of thier content on the website was from stock photos or from other event websites. As a traveling photographer, I noticed a venue that I had shot while in Miami on thier website. I find this company very deceiving and would not trust them with my event. As a content creator and artist myself I find it very disturbing this company would plagiarize others work.

Hands down, our food was AMAZING. Our top priority was delicious food and Lauren with Michaelis exceeded our expectations. Even the presentation of our food and hors doeuvres was pretty and classy. We received so many complimentary comments from our guests about how delicious our food was. Not to mention, the menu selection offered by Michaelis’ catering was incredible – there were so many options and even different tiers of pricing. Everything we taste tested was so delicious that it genuinely was hard to narrow down what we wanted – which is a great problem to have! I also can’t say enough great things about the owner, Lauren – she was so lovely to work with, worked so hard, and was extremely accommodating. We also used Michaelis for our décor and flowers and were extremely happy with the results. My bridal and bridesmaids bouquets way exceeded my expectations – the flower selections and coloring were truly outstanding. So very happy we chose Lauren/Michaelis and we highly recommend them.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with the ME team. I decided to plan my wedding in 5 months and could not have done it without them - I used their catering, bar, cake and decor services. They worked closely with me to create an amazing menu that was within our budget and even pleased my very picky husband.The flowers and decor - just wow! Ive received so many comments from guests about how beautifully decorated everything was. And the flowers were amazing. Period. My advice when working with the decor team is to give them an idea of your vision, let them come back with their ideas, and be open minded! The team is extremely creative and does beautiful work.Even though my wedding was somewhat small (60 guests), I felt like I received a ton of attention from the team and that they went above and beyond to accommodate every request (and if they couldnt, to suggest an alternative). As the wedding date approached, they updated me frequently on status and gently reminded me (sometimes multiple times) when they needed answers from me to move forward. They remained calm throughout the process and their confidence calmed me down!The full team did an amazing job with every detail - I very highly recommend Michaelis Events!!!

Michaelis Events did a fabulous job with our wedding this past January. Lauren Brown and her competent staff worked efficiently and creatively. We held our wedding at The Pointe in Butchertown. Since our guest count was fairly high, we used one large room for both the ceremony and reception; the ME staff quickly flipped the room, and not a single thing was out of place. Not to mention, the food was delicious, and our flowers were elegant. We were so pleased! Lauren Brown is a rock star; she truly eased the stress of planning our menu and decor. My family and I attended the Wizard Christmas Extravaganza and we were blown away. The venue was simply incredible and absolutely magical. From start to end it felt like you were stepping into another world, which my kids absolutely loved. The characters and actors were amazing and the attention to detail at the stations and decorations were stunning. The food was outstanding and we loved that it was buffet style! It was delicious and we all got our fill. It was definitely the epitome of a feast! We would love to attend again and highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of the world of wizardry to make this a holiday tradition! We definitely will!

My family had a wonderful time at the Wizards Christmas Extravaganza. The event space was beautifully decorated and the actors and staff were extremely friendly and entertaining. We enjoyed a nice meal together and then got sorted into our house. After dinner, we moved to the classes which were very interactive and then browsed the shops. There was a good variety of items available at different price points. Purchased a few small items from the shop and then topped off the night with yummy dessert. Would recommend to others for a nice family friendly event.

Michaelis catered our wedding reception, and we could not have been less impressed with the process leading up to the event. It was nearly impossible to reach our contact at the company. It regularly took weeks to have emails answered and phone calls returned. Eventually, we became fed up with it and decided to contact the company president about our issue. Come to find out, it was the Michaeli’s president that we were working with. The problems in this company are from the top down. Poorly managed, poorly run, poor customer service. Avoid this company at all costs.

I can not begin to tell you how amazing The Catering Company is. I live in Dallas and had to put together an event in Louisville. I was a bit concerned how I was going to pull this off. From day 1 Lauren was very responsive and very helpful. She made my job very easy and made me look great. ;) The event was a huge hit. The food was top notch and the staff was outstanding. Michaelis Events catered my daughter’s wedding and the food was very good! The red pepper cream sauce got many compliments from guests. The staff were polite, professional, and the bar staff were very personable and fun. We booked the wedding over a year and a half ago. The one draw back is that there seems to be a lot of turn over. We dealt with 4 different contact people over this period of time. The last person we worked with (Logan) really went out of her way to make things were perfect for the big day. I can’t say enough good things about how much she did to help us. Overall, the day was incredible! Thanks for making it great Michaelis!!

We recently used Michaelis Events to cater and decorate a high school prom. It was phenomenal! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the decór was absolutely elegant. Michaelis Events provided the bar support for our wedding on 8.25.18, a critical role! They did a great job ensuring the bar ran smoothly, and each guest was served in a timely manner. A Wizards Christmas Extravaganza in Frankfort was a total rip off! 90$ per person for a tiny portion of canned chicken and canned vegetables with mayo on them that you had to share with other families. The food was nothing kids would eat. We drove 1.5 hours to attend this event. Left early so we get something to eat on the drive home. On top of that, you had to buy overpriced tokens for anything more to drink than water. We spent nearly $400 for the four of us to attend this event. Complete and total waste of money and still had to stop somewhere to eat again. So disgusted! I would give this negative stars if I could!

I used The Catering Company for my daughters wedding at The Marcus Lindsey this month. The presentation was very beautiful and the staff looked very professional. The food was delicious and many guests went back for second servings. We had several food allergies to consider, but the chef did an amazing job. All of our entrees and 2 of the appetizers were gluten free and no one tasted the difference.I highly recommend The Catering Company and would gladly use them again.

Michaelis Events catered a luncheon for 11 people on May 5th.We started with soup that was delicious. The salmon was grilled and some of the best Ive ever had. It was a thick cut of salmon that was moist and cooked perfectly. They offered two sauces to put on the salmon. Both had great flavor but didnt overpower the salmon. The grits and roasted potatoes were amazing. I would highly recommend Michaelis Events for any catering events or meetings.Bill Reed

We use the Catering Company at my nonprofit, the Kids Center for Pediatric Therapies here in Louisville, KY for board lunches, small special events, and our major fundraising breakfast. This is our largest money maker that we would not trust to just anyone. The food is great, the selection is very wide and the people are great. Its nice to know at an event that you dont have to micromanage every detail if The Catering Company is on the job. We have never had a complaint about their service or food. Instead, we get many people who love it!

We used The Catering Company for our Thunder Over Louisville event and it was fantastic. Working with Lauren before the event was really great- she was really flexible and helpful. The day-of staff was good, too (and so was the food!). The price was reasonable too. This was our first year using The Catering Company for this event and we will definitely use them in the future.

My wedding was catered by the Louisville Catering Company, and we were extremely pleased with the service. We did a buffet and had over 250 guests. Michelle helped us plan a menu with all of our favorite foods - including a street taco bar, buffalo chicken sliders, mini cheeseburgers, twice baked potatoes, and pasta salad. Michelle is easy to work with, prompt at responding, and mindful when you are operating on a budget. Overall, it was a great experience.

I have attended multiple affairs with the Catering Company being the caterer. Each and every one I experienced excellent food, service, and even noticed the small attention to detail. I do not live in Louisville, but visit family often. We have a large family there and everyone of them use this caterer for their quality and reliability. If you need a great, not good caterer, please check out The Catering Company. You wont be disappointed. If I lived there, I would undoutably use them.

The Catering Company was such a pleasure to work with in planning our wedding. My review for Michaelis Events is way overdue. My husband and I were married in November of 2018. After our engagement as the wedding preparations were starting to take force and I gave my husband the task of finding a caterer. Although we had only been engaged for a month we hadn’t made an accurate guest count yet but we wanted to start planning early because of the time of year we were getting married. Many companies responded back by saying our number was too low and we wouldn’t be eligible to make our menu unique. When we received our response from Michaelis, it felt like we had known them forever. Planning a wedding is no walk in the park. You want everything to be perfect, be within budget, and of course unique and from the beginning we felt that Michaelis would take us in as one of their own.From our first meeting to our last, Michaelis was with us every step of the way. We sought out Michaelis Events as just our caterer but we ended up using them for our décor, floral, and day of coordinator. Talk about a company that can serve you in more ways than one. When it came time to finalize with our budget we didn’t feel like they pushed us away. If we had an idea of something and it was too pricey, Michaelis made sure to find an alternate instead of eliminating the idea, which is very comforting to a bride. I was able to incorporate personal pieces into our wedding with the help of Michaelis. I used The Catering Company for a party on February 1, 2015. The food was outstanding and so was the service! This was the first time I had The Catering Company supply me with help during the party and it was great. The best part was that I didnt have to worry about the dishes at the end of the day! Im so happy with their food and service that I plan on using them for an upcoming business event.

I use Michaelis Events to cater New Employee Orientation dinners. I shared the schedule for the year and I receive a menu for each date. No menu is the same besides our special request. From there I just show-up and everything is set. They are very accommodating and take your worries away.I also use them for team outings. They help me secure a location and can be onsite to help coordinate the event. The team is really personable and a joy to work with.

My daughters wedding reception was held at The Pointe and The Catering Company was the caterer that worked with this venue. We didnt have any first hand experience with them, but the reviews looked positive. We were so disappointed on many levels. Although the contact person was very responsive leading up to the event, she was totally absent during the reception. We had a buffet for 200 and it took over an hour for our guests to get through the line. The food was dished in an unbelievably stingy manner unlike any wedding buffet I have experienced. The wait staff in general was sparse and didnt provide refills of water or tea that was preset on the tables. We paid for three bartenders, but never had 3 working the bar together. The lines were very, very long due to this and also due to the fact they seemed poorly trained to handle the group. I shared all of this after the event, and they seemed responsive to my concerns. However, I could never recommend this caterer. We had a wedding 5 years ago and I feel like I was naive in thinking this group would handle our reception in a comparable manner.

We have had wonderful success with using Michaelis Events for a variety of events. From simple catering to formal cocktail hour, MEs is always on time, their staff is beyond professional and the food is creatively delicious. I was an out of state bride planning my wedding from over a thousand miles away and no opportunity to fly into town to do a taste testing. I specifically picked The Catering Company because of their honest packages and enthusiasm towards making quality catering affordable for a magical night! I put my complete trust and faith in Emily and the team who conducted my wedding night. We did a buffet for 75 people, and there were SO MANY compliments. Most importantly, my Groom, who is VERY particular when it comes to food taste, was so happy with his meal he got up for seconds. Parents of the Groom and my parents were very pleased. Compliments around the room. We ran into one hiccup where we were 1x vegan meal short, but the staff jumped on it, and fixed the issue almost seamlessly! Very pleased, I would recommend this HONEST company to anyone :)

There are not enough great things to say about The Catering Company/Michaelis events. They did a fantastic job with our wedding day, April 28th, 2018 at The Pointe. Not only are they extremely organized, detail oriented, and accommodating - the food on our wedding day was absolutely delicious! We have received so many compliments about both our appetizers and our main meal. Our point person for our wedding was Lauren Brown and unfortunately the night of our wedding she was sick and unable to attend, but honestly you would have never known because the staff did not miss a beat. The Catering Company also saved us from a potential disaster. We had a lot of beer drinkers at our reception and about ran out of beer before the reception fully got started. Someone behind the bar noticed this immediately and was able to let my parents know timely so more beer could be bought before we ran out. Not a single guest noticed! Also, we had 2 vegetarians attend the wedding that we specially ordered fish for, not only did the catering company deliver this, they knew exactly what table these guests were at and were able to deliver the fish just as they were getting ready to approach our buffet line - super impressive! With it being my wedding day, it was mostly a blur but my mother and sister had so many great things to say about The Catering Company and its staff, mentioning several times how professional and helpful everyone was throughout the entire night. We cannot thank them and recommend them enough!

I attended a Gala for real Menace Academy on Saturday night. The food served by the catering company was by far the worst I have ever tasted. The green beans were just blanched, they served catfish which is something that they were told we do not eat and we were totally disappointed! The potatoes were over salty and the lemonade and tea was so sweet you could barely drink it. I would not recommend the catering company to anyone else.

This place has gone through some recent changes from what I understand. They just overhauled their work space and have had the addition of some friendly faces that help coordinate your event needs.We used them for our wedding this past October (2018) and had them cater food for our venue and bartend our event. We supplied our alcohol for our event (three full-size kegs, an enormous amount of wine, and about 30 bottles of champagne). They were more than happy to serve our host-sponsored alcohol and also kept a menu of hard liquor for the cash bar portion of our event. They had a menu for our provided beers and wines that guests could view. The number of bartenders was perfect and people were not waiting around for drinks. They even had a bartender or just a person who would grab my wife and I our preferred drinks if they saw our cups were empty or that we were waiting in line. Additionally, for our wedding party and ourselves - we were able to stock the bar with our preferred hard liquor without any issues. They set it aside for us and were more than happy to keep it behind the bar. They treated our guests well and I really enjoyed the bartenders - they had a lot of fun and made sure our guests did the same.For our food, we did a breakfast bar. Pancakes with cinnamon apples, blueberries, and chocolate chips; biscuits and white pepper gravy or assorted jams/jellies, pimento cheese, roasted potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs, and seasonal fruits. I didnt really eat much at the wedding to be honest BUT I did hear we had like nothing left over and that our guests really enjoyed the food! The tasting we did prior to our wedding was really nice and the food tasted good then (so I could only imagine it tasted the same or better when the wedding occurred). The only downside was that we didnt get any to-go food for us which I was kinda bummed about. My matron of honor was literally following me around on the dance floor and tables feeding me bacon because I hadnt had a chance to eat. The company was even more than happy to set up our coffee and donuts that we had ordered from North Lime as our cake. They did a pretty solid job.They were easy to work with. Responded quickly. Sat down with us at some of our final venue walk throughs to talk about our perfect wedding goals, and even helped us out when we ran into issues. They were more than happy to help us out with the kegs and were polite with our requests on which kegs went first and not to just pop the top on all the wine. Logan was our main point of contact and she was perfect. She was hilarious and easy to reach - let us know when she was around in the days leading up to our wedding and even told us to reach out if we had ANY questions or concerns in those few days before. She made this portion of our wedding stress free.Wedding food doesnt have to suck and they proved that to me and mostly my guests.lol

I have had the priviledge of being at many events catered by the Catering Company, and it is outstanding! When I here that The Catering Co. is providing the food at an event, I look forward to going to the event even more. I would recommend them to anyone wanting great food at their events, corporate, family or otherwise.

The only thing better than their food is the service with which they serve it. I have used them several times. We recently had them cater a dinner meeting for the Home Builders Association at our office - everyone raved about the food and the creativity on the presentation.

Wimsett and Company used The Catering Company for our ribbon cutting ceremony. The Catering Company was fantastic! The food was delicious, the presentation was outstanding, and the service was wonderful. The Catering Company provided a well dressed and mannered server, they arrived early to set up, and they stayed late to tear down. What I really appreciated about The Catering Company was that they boxed up all the food that was not eaten at our event. Needless to say, Wimsett and Company employees were able to be in quiche and cheesecake heaven even after the event!

Poorly ran and unorganized. Balances were hand written on post it notes, mulitiple unnecessary contracts, and zero follow up. We dealt with several different people who had no idea about anything related to our event until we reminded them.

I went to A wizards Christmas Extravaganza and This event was a waste of money . The only good thing was the decorations were great and the Actors and actresses and staff were great . The food was ridiculous you had to share with 8 other people !!!! Basically your “full coarse meal was 1 taco and like 3 potato wedges !!!! You would think paying $100 plus dollars would get you a good meal . The Classes were good but some couldn’t participate because there wasn’t enough seats . My family was extremely disappointed. Seriously save yourselves the money it’s 💯 NOT worth it !!!!

Michelle and the Catering Company were great from the start. In the beginning we had a hard time deciding what food we wanted for our weddings and they were kind and flexible enough to give us THREE tastings. They were so cordial and had geniune interesting helping us find the best food for our guests.The Catering Company was incredible on the day of our wedding. Food tasted amazing and was exactly what we had picked out in our tastings - no surprises at all. The staff was also really professional and attneded to our needs along with our guests needs. We had the filet and salmon and they were both great. In my opinion, fiet and salmon are both difficult foods to cook in bulk for 150 guests but they pulled it off.If I had one critique of the catering company, it would be their responsiveness. We tried communicating via e-mail and there were times where we didnt get a response as promtly as we had hoped. With that said, everything was taken care of when it was all said and done. When it got closer and clsoer to our wedding day, we had no problem getting a hold of them.We love them and we are so glad we picked them for our wedding!

Recently, The Kentucky Catering Company catered our company Christmas party. I was an attendee and partook of the catered food. Well, the food was an hour late because the delivery guy came to our floor and omitted to read the large sign that stated We are located in the back, please call ___ at 502-------. The Catering Companys manager, Denise, was instructed to call the party coordinator once the delivery guy arrived & confirmed that he made it to the location. The manager (Denise) confirmed all of these details multiple times during the week. Unfortunately, that did not occur and our food was cold upon arrival. The ham was tough & over cooked, the turkey was processed, we had store bought rolls in a bag, frivolous dessert tray, fresh out of a can green beans, GFS premade tray dressing, and the mac & cheese was average at best. Overall, the food was just cold and “ok.” The delivery guy did apologize for being late and the fact that he ultimately was lost in translation. But, I cannot say the same for his supervisor. When the Catering Companys manager Denise was contacted to discuss all of the mishaps of the day, she did not want to hear it one bit. Denise listened to the problems that occurred on her company’s end as it related to the cold food and late arrival. Her response to the honest opinion and dissatisfaction of her company’s food was, “We catered several parties that day and all of them raved about the food! You all are just odd balls!” Way to talk to your customers for having an opinion, Denise! I’m confident that no respective company representative called you the day of their party to rave about the food that your company catered on the first day of Louisville’s Dec. 2013 snow storm. So, if you choose to have this company cater your party, event, etc. with processed food...be sure that you give great detailed instructions because they too may get lost in translation.
