Cooks has been around for a very long time. It is a locally owned small business that get support from the Louisville area instead of chain locations that dont spend their money locally but send it out of state.

Normally this place was amazing. Every key works. But when i went in to get a key made for my son. The lady said they couldnt make them. They sold all out of the $1 keys. Tried to sell me a 4.50 key. My son looses these keys often. So now i have to wait til they have more. The lady was rather rude too

I went to a car repair shop when I could not get my car key out and I was given 2 options. One option was to leave my car with them and they will apparently dismantle the whole system to get the key out. The other option was to go to Cook’s Locksmith Services which I was told was already closed at around 5:25. I tried to call them and Nikki told me they close at 6 pm. I drive to their location but got lost. I called and Marc answered my call to give me directions patiently. When I finally got to their location, they were very nice and very professional. It was very close to closing time but they were ok to finish the job. They even explained to me how the key broke and gave me tips on using it to avoid breaking it. Marc and Nikki gave the very best customer service I have ever had. Cook’s Locksmith Services is highly recommended.

The people at cooks locksmith really know their stuff. Mr cook is a nice man, and I swear Vicky can juggle Tumblr pins with tweezers. Shes very good. Service is always fast and inexpensive. I found this place and stop looking for somewhere to have lock service done.

The folks at Cooks Locksmith Services were extremely polite and professional when I called. My wife and I are pretty sure our son accidentally threw away the keys to our Jeep. We were left with a locked up SUV in our driveway and no way to unlock it, much less drive it. Cooks sent a technician out the day after I called them. In under 20 minutes, I had an unlocked Jeep with a brand new key! And roughly $100 cheaper than going to the dealership (would have also required a tow)!! Id highly recommend Cooks for any and all locksmith services you require!

The smartkey feature in my car had been activated accidently and I was unable to clear it. I spent 4 days talking to dealerships, mechanics and even the manufacture and what they said would take hours of reprogramming, the purchase of another key... The locksmith, Tripp, was friendly and the service was great. Then when I locked myself out of my house with all of my groceries, I called in a panic and they came to the rescue immediately. Ive been putting it off because I thought only the dealer could program keys, and who can afford the dealer? Oddly enough after talking to the technician at the dealer service counter, he pointed me here. Had exactly what I needed.

Our lock quit working and we had Tripp fromcook’s come out yesterday. It was a non-emergency phone call, however they were here within a couple hours. The price was lower than I worried it would be. We have a Home Warranty and I opted not to call them. Glad I made that choice, because it probably would have been costlier to go through them and they likely wouldn’t have covered it. Tripp was very kind. He explained everything he was going to do before he did it and gave us the cost breakdown before he started working. He was conscious of safety with our little kids at home while he worked. He seemed like an all-around great guy and now both of our locks are working great!

Efficient and helpful employees. There were plenty of different items and services provided for home and vehicle security, ranging from making keys to keying locks to fire and gun safes. All of the employees kept busy, either assisting customers or in the case of a brunette woman moving from the back office to the customer service desk and keeping things moving.

The best, they can fix anything repair it set you up and I get you done.

I have a Suzuki Boulevard and only one key for the ignition. The cycle shop recommend Cooks to have spare keys made. Although the first two keys they made did not work in the ignition, they made 2 more and made sure that keys worked properly. Not many places have the blanks for motorcycle keys. Cooks was fast and great to work with.

They do not know how to fix existing locks so they have to replace them and did not offer to replace the lock with a similar lock. Very, very dissatisfied. And this is not the first time I have been dissatisfied. I will definitely rethink using them again.UPDATED POST WITH A 5 STAR REVIEW:I was contacted by Tony the GM of Cooks within just a few hours after the work was done and I posted the review. He had to leave a voice mail because I was not at home. He didnt stop there! He contacted me again. He has absolutely went far above and beyond even my expectation. He contacted many of his suppliers, had people looking within their own inventory and spent several hours just to find the product he thought I would be most happy with. He has found the product and it will be installed by a hand picked installer of his choosing.Tony is a very real asset to Cooks. He was MOST congenial, went overboard to gain my trust and did it all with a smile in his voice plus made me feel he really valued me and my business. They were great once they arrived. Took over 3 hours. Never waited that long for a locksmith. And person on phone was rude as hell.

Very helpful staff. Hardware store and mechanic both recommended this place for hard to find replacement keys for car keys and office door lock. Very pleased with the service and prices. Staff went above and beyond to help. Had to do a special order and they kept me informed throughout the process.

So I asked neighbors to feed my cat while I was out of state for a week. There’s no excuse but I inadvertently left them the wrong house key. I called Cook’s and they were able to gain access to my house and make my neighbors a key. This was all managed within an hour. It was a simple phone call and a selfie of me holding my photo ID. I regret that in not slowing down and paying attention I had to pay for a locksmith. BUT Cook’s friendliness, understanding and quick action allowed me to enjoy the rest of my holiday with the family. So worth it! Thanks Cook’s!

I talked to a guy on the phone there about buying a safe and he was very patient and helpful and give me lots of information. So far I havent purchased a safe but their phone service would make me go to them as opposed to Klein brothers who were surprisingly uneducated and unhelpful regarding safes.
