I would not go to Nancy Waters. The counseling is affordable, but she didnt really hold a strong grasp on the kind of help that I needed. She would frequently yawn during our sessions. She would check the clock frequently. She really wanted to get through the part where the client talked so she could draw diagrams on the whiteboard. Once I went in there and the whiteboard hadnt been cleaned from the session before and she was drawing the SAME DIAGRAMS for them. Furthermore, she would suggest homework but never check up on if it was completed. It felt like I was doing all of this extra work and we never revisited it, if it had helped, etc. Then she started assigning more and more homework and it was all over the top. (For example get a sleep therapist in the next week along with a new studio to do yoga etc.) Even more than that in order to help me she would suggest YOUTUBE videos? And most of them were on topics I didnt feel like I had an issue with and wasnt what I was there for. But when I would bring this up she would either shrug it off or suggest I didnt KNOW that it was actually a problem for me. Lastly she brought up politics each and every therapy session and I was there for my mental health not for her to frequently bring up the state of this country currently.

I saw Nancy Waters at Old Louisville Counseling Center for about 2 years. I absolutely loved my experience. Her inspiring words still help me years later.

I highly DO NOT recommend this counseling center especially with Nancy Waters. She was assigned to counsel my ex-husband who was abusive to me and my children. We had documented pictures and reports of the abuse. She told the court that she didnt feel like he had anger issues. He is a charismatic manipulator. His psychological test from another psychologist even proved abusive tendencies and narcissistic behaviors. Nancy stated she didnt feel like he could harm the children and we just had differing opinions on discipline. Putting bruises on a child is not a differing opinion its abuse! She also compared my children to her dogs and how sometimes she gets mad at them. She is clearly not educated in domestic abuse and this was very concerning coming from a survivor of domestic abuse. Thankfully with the help of the other psychologists and my childrens counselor supervised visits continued until my ex husband received proper help. However Nancy put my children in potential harm because of her bogus reviews of my exs behavior. If you are experiencing any type of abuse DO NOT go here. Please seek recommendations from people who have walked in your shoes.
