After giving Dan decisive directions, he continued to nickel and dime me. Then, I told him precisely what I wanted again, then he decided he wasn’t comfortable with my needs. It was clearly due to money. We didn’t need all of his services, and that’s when he decided he didn’t want to draft my house plan.Update:Dan is now arguing with me via email, which is very unprofessional. Again, I gave him very decisive instructions with no changes necessary. Then, when I told him I don’t need surveying, stamping, nor permits. That is when he felt that he couldn’t work for me. As for a negative review, his arguing through email, and poor customer service certainly warranted a negative review. I hope all see this and take this as a precaution. I have never wrote a bad review in my life and I was very hesitant with this one.

In an era when contractors and professionals don’t answer the phone, sometimes for days, I’m happy to say I had the exact opposite experience with Dan at Residential Draftsman Service. In the back and forth that’s necessary during the design period Dan always answered the phone and addressed my questions in a knowledgeable and friendly way. And the result of his work is top notch. You want to see what color awning looks good on your house? Dan’s CAD drawing show your actual brick colors in each drawing. Match the perfect color to go with your house. No guess work involved. That’s just one small feature that point to the attention to detail that is so important when choosing someone to design an addition to your home. Considering the personal service, and drawings that are art, I advise you to hire with confidence!

Dan has worked on our house plans. He took our cut outs from magazines and made it in to our dream home. He was easy to work with and reasonably priced! Would recommend him to my friends and family!

We would like to thank Dan, Ann and his team on how well they did for us. They were a big help. They explained it in detail, showed us the pictures, and even house plan layouts. When we had questions, they called and talked to us or even email. They helped us with everything that we needed to do. If you need an architect, I recommend them.

If you are looking for draftsman services. then look no further. Dan is personable, excellent at his craft and meticulous. He listens to your needs, clearly explains the project roadmap and keeps in constant communications. There is a very detailed collaboration with the client and you cant finish without feeling comfortable with the final product.

Dan is a total con artist, he has no design experience himself, he relies on experienced qualified designers to do his work, which he offers minimum wages. He hired me on terms, and refused to pay. He wants to pay professional designers only $20/hr to do $75+/hr work. He says he only charges clients $20/hr, but no way does that happen. If you want a quality company to represent you and what you want. Stay far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We recently used Dan for blueprints of our soon to be home. We gave him a very basic rough draft without even exact measurements. He gave us his rough/first draft in a very timely manner and then we worked together to make changes more than once due to us changing our minds. We recently used Dan for an addition project that we are working on. This was our first time using a draftsman as opposed to an architect so there was a bit of an unknown as to how things were going to go. In the beginning it went smoothly but then there was a communication barrier that we had to get past that I recognized presented itself to be a problem when trying to work with some one in an e-mail only format and clearly articulating what we wanted. As we worked though those things Dan reduced the hours, he had applied to the project to help financially on our end which was greatly appreciated. Ive never previously considered writing a negative review of any company, and I work hard to not talk badly about others. So, Ive struggled with determining how to help others make an informed decision about hiring the right draftsman without talking badly about this company.I decided the best way to do this is to share the letters that were sent to me by this company. Youll see that the first letter agrees to refund me my money in full. However, after waiting for 3 weeks to receive that money, I received the 2nd attached letter that ignores his previous commitment to refund my money and threatens legal action if I speak about my experience with this company.There are many inaccuracies in these letters. However, I will not waste time refuting those (most of which I have written evidence to the contrary via emails), because I think it best to allow this companys own words help you make your own decision about whether or not you would like to do business with a company who talks to their clients and handles themselves in this manner.I hope this information helps you!

Dan is the man! I am the owner of AlphaOne Exteriors. We used Residental Draftsman Service to create a building plan for a storm damaged house we were rebuilding. The tornadoes in Dayton OH destroyed the house.I called many draftsmen services. Most never answered or returned my call. Dan answered on the first call and was ready to get to work for us.He had the plans back to to us quickly. He is a man of integrity. He charges a $500 deposit and works at a $50 per hour ratr. Afterwards refunded us $110 because he didnt use all the $500. I am very pleased with service and will be using them every time I need building plans.
