Master scammers. I have been doing my taxes for over 20 years, and have NEVER dealt with the incompetence, unprofessionalism, and exorbitant costs that we dealt with working with this company. For our tax preparation alone, we were charged $4,500 (business & personal) when we had never previously paid more than $2,000 in a year for tax preparation. As if the costs werent outrageous enough, there were multiple mistakes with a clear lack of communication/documentation internally. We received multiple letters from the IRS, and some saying that they were going reposes our belongings! Talk about stressful. Additionally, if you call or e-mail with ANY question (no matter how small), you are billed for that time. Again, something that we had never dealt with before. The last straw came when we questioned a bill from them that was incorrect (double billed), and THEY fired us immediately via e-mail and without even a courtesy phone call to try and resolve the issue. Mind blowing. We were new to CO and trying to go with a local CPA, but needless to say, we are back with our old accountants (in CA), and they just completed our taxes (business & personal) for less than $2,000 - and without any mistakes. Be warned!

Scam, don’t do work with Alan.

We had our taxes done by this company for many years - since the company was purchased from the previous owner - until last year. Whereas the completion of our tax returns was excellent and the level of service was very professional, we had a HUGE issue with the cost of our returns. The price escalated by huge leaps and bounds each year. This, in itself, was unreasonable, but it was particularly irritating because we never got a straight answer regarding how the cost was determined and never got a reasonable estimate beforehand so that we could prepare for the cost. The last time, we emailed Mr. Williamson and asked what the cost would be if our return was comparable - and actually a bit LESS complicated - than the year before. We were told that, if the exact same return were produced as the previous year, the cost would be $840. The previous years return had cost us about $750, so that was a substantial increase AGAIN, but we liked the service and the fact that they were familiar with our situations with rental properties, etc. Our return was comparable and in fact a bit less complicated than the previous years return, but when we showed up to sign and collect it, the cost was a whopping $1260!!!!!! Mr. Williamsons own estimate was off by 50% !! Why bother giving an estimate if it is not even in the same universe as the cost??? But clients are required to sign a contract upon submitting their return info that they agree to pay $xx OR HIGHER upon completion of their return. How very nice. We will NEVER sign a document like this again. And we believe it very unethical to demand this. If the cost really was even within 10% of the listed price OR if the return really was substantially more complex, then a difference that great would be justified, but neither was the case for us and we feel that we cannot trust this company any longer.

Williamson CPA and Kayla Asher have been handling my company payroll and taxes for 3 years. In addition, they also prepare my personal taxes. They have been a real pleasure to work with. I had my taxes done for 2013 here. My taxes arent too complicated; some investments and interest earnings really. I know as much about taxes as a high school government student, so when they returned my taxes to me and told me how much I owed, I was willing to believe them. It seemed like way too much, even to me, so I glanced through everything. It took me 10 seconds to see that they had added a large sum under taxable income that should not have been there. There was a large amount added in my previous years taxes that they had asked me about and I had told them it was a one time thing for the year before. They still asked that I show them the tax papers for it from the previous year (probably why my fee to them was so insanely high, they were redoing all of the work from the previous year....while apparently doing no work for the current year). Everything had been done properly the year before (Im glad I paid for them to check that) and it was indeed a one time sum for the previous year (just as I had told them). They accidentally added the sum onto the current taxes...putting me into a whole new tax bracket and making my total almost $2,000 owed. After I had them correct this error (along with another ridiculous error regarding residency), I owed a total of $200. I never once got a phone call or an apology or an explanation (definitely not any refund!!!) from Allen, who just a few weeks before was oh so willing to help me and explained to me how everyones taxes are checked multiple times before being given to him for a final scan.I would recommend doing your own taxes if you are considering this company....even if you have never done them before you will probably do a better job.

I have worked primarily with Wendy, but also with Alan, and have been impressed with their responsiveness and attention to my personal tax-related needs, as well as any questions I have had. My tax returns are quite complex--I have to file in several different states each year--and over the years I have felt increasingly confident and comfortable with the process.
