Bravo Carpet Cleaning is a good alternative than doing it yourself. The time and not to mention the mess of having to dump the water...well lets just say it took Bravo about an hour to hit our high traffic areas (living room and stairs). All of which came out great! No complaints. Will definitely call them again in 4-6 months to do it all over again.
