I have an old Smith-Corona from the 50s that needed help. The carriage wasnt working and the keys were sticking, among other things. It was dirty and gummed up. Ruben did an AMAZING job restoring the thing! I couldnt be happier with the results. Its been cleaned thoroughly and is now in pristine condition. So smooth. The carriage is operating perfectly...along with everything else.I never write reviews but this guy is a TREASURE. He knows everything there is to know and Im sure that there arent many guys like him left. He gave me a VERY fair quote and sent photos and video of the issues and his progress as he worked on the machine. He completed the work quickly and couldnt be a nicer guy.I HIGHLY recommend his services. And anyone that has an appreciation for beautiful old TYPEWRITERS knows what a gift it is to have someone like Ruben nearby.

I have a Royal Quiet Deluxe from the late 1940s that I bought 15-20 years ago. I stopped using it and stored it in my garage because I didnt have a writing space for myself. Now I have a space and I took it out, but after ten years of not being used it needed some servicing.I found Ruben online and took it to him for an evaluation and the machine was in worse condition than I thought. He was very knowledgeable and told me what it needed to be usable again. He left it up to me to decide how far I wanted to go with it, no pressure. I decided to go with a full refurbishment. It is becoming very rare to find one of these machines in the condition that mine was in. It was very well taken care of before I bought it and I felt it was worth saving.Ruben is an exceptional craftsman. My antique typewriter works better than it has ever worked since its been in my possession. If you have an old typewriter you want to refurbish, I highly recommend Ruben. Thank you Ruben. Ruben was very friendly and helpful. He brought my Adler Universal 39 back to life and sent me updates daily. I don’t think there’s anyone out there that is more qualified to do what he did!

I had a damaged 1949? Royal KMG typewriter, the carriage was stuck from being shipped improperly. And I took the damaged typewriter to Ruben and he did an amazing job, fixed my typewriter, replaced damaged parts, gave it a deep cleaning. It looks brand new, works good as new. Im very happy to have my typewriter back after a year of it being broken. Ruben is the best typewriter mechanic in the city, a rare profession. And he doesnt over charge, his prices are fair for the superb work he does. Highly recommend.

Im a little late posting this review. I purchased a typewriter on eBay for my wife as a present. The machine needed some love so we took it to Ruben. He not only restored the Lettera 32 with script font to perfect condition, he also gave us a 7 minute tutorial on the functions of all the levers and mechanisms. He even let us record it so we can reference his explanation at a later date. He has plenty of typewriters: manual and electric for sale. My wife is having such a great time writing her letters on the machine that her friends are also asking how to get their own typewriter. Bottom line, Ruben is fair, reliable and passionate about typewriters. I highly recommend his business.

I bought an old, beat up typewriter for my wife and used it to propose a while back so looks aside it has a ton of sentimental value. I figured I’d get it all fixed up so it could be more than fun decor, hoping my wife could now use it to write letters and whatnot. Admittedly I was nervous to have something so important to me and my wife worked on, but these guys did a phenomenal job! It looks absolutely beautiful, better than I’ve ever seen it and works wonderfully! I would highly recommend these guys if you have ANY typewriter needs.
