Our journey with Sternberg law group began in July of 2019. By this time we had been going back and forth with our second mortgage for a year with no progress. We tried everything from requesting a loan modification to a short pay off and we were at our wits end with sending them numerous documents they requested only to have them turn around and say they either didn’t receive them or that they expired and needed updated documents. 😫 In fact things got worse when we got a certified letter in the mail that the second mortgage was going to proceed with foreclosure in 90 days. We were devastated but at this point we knew we needed to seek professional help or forfeit our home to foreclosure. Reality was we couldn’t fight this thing on our own and we needed to search for a reliable and honest lawyer who specializes in foreclosures but we were also scared we wouldn’t be able to afford it. I spent days and nights researching foreclosure lawyers, reviews of homeowners going through the same struggles, chat rooms (reddit, etc) about the foreclosure process and resources. Our case was a bit complicated and I talked to numerous lawyers before I found Josh. The minute I talked to Josh I knew that if we were going to hire a foreclosure lawyer it was going to be him. I met him in his office the following day. The things that stood out right away: He followed through with appointments on time whether it was on the phone or in person (surprisingly other lawyers didn’t🤦🏽‍♀️), he took the time to go over every possible scenario (plan A, B, C, etc) and surprisingly the cost was affordable (in the end he saved me way more money than if I tried to do it on my own or worse I would have lost my house. I wish I hired him sooner because this would have saved me so much time and unnecessary stress.) and communication (he and his assistants walked me through every document they needed from me and every time I had a crazy question all I had to do was email him or schedule a phone call). Fast forward to January 2021 our second mortgage finally agreed to settle for much lower than what we could have ever imagined. In fact we had offered to settle for more money when we were trying to work with our second mortgage company on our own. Even after paying legal fees we still saved a ton of money and most importantly saved our home from foreclosure. Shocking but seriously that’s how much money we saved! Also this was exactly what Josh had predicted on our initial meeting and to be honest at the time I thought he was being too optimistic. I was wrong. Hiring Josh was the best thing we could have done to save our house and save us money doing so. Grant it we had to fight hard and pulled out every trick/strategy we could (this mortgage company is notorious for not letting up) and we can’t thank Josh and his legal team enough for sticking by us this entire process.
