I took my 2008 Kia Rio to Budget Auto Repair this morning.Do not be dissuaded by the outside of the shop. It was one of the most pleasant experiences Ive had in LA dealing with auto repair shops. They are trustworthy (which means a lot in this town), professional, polite, reasonable prices and speedy!I definitely will be going back there for any auto repair needs.
This place was very dishonest I needed to purchase a part for my vehicle and I asked if they could order it for me they said yes and quoted me the price. About 30 minutes later I received the item inside of packaging that like it had been opened, the packaging was a name brand. On closer inspection I realized that they had put a cheaper part in the more expensive Parts box and gave it to me. They up charged me $50 for a part I could have got myself at AutoZone. In fact that is exactly where they got the part, AutoZone. The part cost $83 he made me pay $130. I went back to confront him and he said that was just business and I guess thats how he does business so if you dont want to pay more for your service or your parts. Dont go to his shop hes very dishonest and hes just stealing money from customers that needed help.
An honest mechanic never runs out of work. Ive never seen John not having customers waiting. Honest, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always pleasant.
I had a great experience with my car getting work done there. Guy who took care of my car was very honest.
Cant say enough good things about john. he is honest, fair, and a pleasure to work with. he showed me everything wrong with my car that needed to be fixed and explained everything to me in a way i could understand (coming from someone who has limited knowledge regarding engines). the repair was quick, fast, and easy. and at price that couldnt be beat. thank you john for repairing my air conditioning and even educated me about things to look out for in the future regarding my car and future maintenance. its a shame that i am moving to montana since i wont be able to find an auto repair shop that could come close to my experience of quality and fairness that i found at budget auto repair. thank you again john.
I have been a customer of Budget Auto Repair for over twenty years and they have serviced a variety of vehicles for me, from an Isuzu Trooper through a Porsche through a Nissan Pathfinder, and now a Mercedes. I would not take a vehicle anywhere else. John is amazingly knowledgeable, thorough, forthright -- and honest beyond compare. He gives me options and assists me in prioritizing work that needs to be done. On top of that Budget Auto Repair has the best and fairest prices on everything. If you live in the Great Los Angeles area, there is simply no reason to go anywhere else. With Budget Auto repair, you cannot go wrong.
I went to budget auto repair, I called in advanced and the person on the phone told me a quote of $850, and he insisted to bring it in and they’d take care of me. (Yes I got second opinions, and they said around the same price)So I did go with them, and they had my car for 3-4 days, and I received a call from them saying “it was a mistake, the price is going to be $1,750” almost $1,000 more. When I said I couldn’t pay that and explained that I was quoted a different price, they pretended that it did not exist. And they tried to charge me $500 just to get my car released. And that basically twisted my arm to go with their services. When I get my car, it’s okay for 2 days, the check engine light comes on and starts running funny. I take it back and they say it’s a new problem, and they did not see this problem in their “diagnostic” just a couple of days ago.So now I’ve spent that much on getting my car fixed and it magically has new problems right after leaving this business. And while I was there i heard someone from management stating they were having really slow business, and they were struggling. And I do not believe in coincidences.I would not recommend this auto shop to anyone, and would hate for this to happen to someone else that would be willing to pay and them being taken advantage of because they think they can just do what they want. Just stay clear
Good until something went wrong. They forgot to attach the undercarriage for and it got wrecked on my way home. They told me it was my fault because i drove the car after they forgot to attach the undercarriage (yes you read that right) and then wanted to charge me $300 to fix it it. There was also garbage in my car. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Pay an extra 5% somewhere else and get someone more professional. Some if not all the good reviews were from before, a LOT has changed with this place. Pay attention to the bad ones.
Great reliable lival auto repair
I pulled up to Budget Auto and a technician immediately came out to greet me. My front headlight had burned out and he replaced it in less than five minutes
I pulled up to Budget Auto and a technician immediately came out to greet me. My front headlight had burned out and he replaced it in less than five minutes. I had put off getting it fixed for some time because I thought it was going to take long. Even though there were a slew of cars being worked on he got this simple task done and I was on my way, and it was a great price as well. I am definitely coming here when I have more serious car trouble.
Great Service!! John is super nice and knowledgeable.
Great service and good pricing,I recommend these guys.
A friend of mine swears by these guys so i took his word for it when my car broke down. They had my car fixed by the time i got out of work and there wasnt any suprises cost wise. I honestly left feeling like i got hooked up. Thanks guys👍
I have 1987 Mercedes 190D Turbo Diesel & 1980 VW Caddy Pickup these are the guys to go to. Theyve slowly helped me fix things on my Mercedes, Radiator, rear brake drums, windshield wiper mechanism kit installation, glow plug replacement, door lock vacuum leak, fuel filter replacement (both filters). John is 2nd generation German-American, his dad Walter is German who emigrated here and like all Germans they are perfectionist and the best Engineers for cars. So, Ive seen Porsches (older 912s, 911s, newer Boxters), VWs Beetles, Vanagons, Jettas, Golfs (old air cooled and newer water cooleds), BMWs / Audits, Subarus, in their repair-bay being worked on. Their work is timely, and their price is reasonable. He charges $60 for diagnosis which goes towards your repair if you choose to leave the car and let the shop repair it. You definitely save a lot over Dealer with the same dealer quality part and repair work. And they are just off of the 101 Fwy at Glendale Blvd Exit, I work in the Financial District downtown and I drop the car off and John gives me a ride back to work, and when the work is done hell pick up right outside.
These guys are as honest as they are knowledgable. They can fix anything and everything and will charge you very modestly for it.
They put the wrong alternator in my car
