Los Angeles has been home to The BROAD for 5 years now. Anyone who has an appreciation for modern art or architecture should have visited twice already. Tho surprisingly many have not visited yet. Well besides its bold unapologetic art pieces. This museum also provokes thought and offer insight into topics both art and human related. Which helps us better understand the artists and their work and the times in which we live. A sophisticated yet very accessible atmosphere fostering an appreciation for art and for artist maybe even for your first time.

Broad museum had to be one of my favorite museums in LA. I went here with my dad and a neighbor from Palm Springs and we had a wonderful time. My dad is 83 and has hard time walking long distance so after some looking my dad went to sit down and when he sat down one of the people on the first floor named Lester was keeping my dad occupied which I thought was just over the top and I appreciate. Also in the gift shop they have a huge variety of great things to buy. Eric in the gift shop was super helpful and I beyond appreciate his work. Overall the broad museum is a must see in LA

The Broad museum is a must see if you’re in Los Angeles. General admission is always free, reservations are required.Eli and Edythe Broad’s Postwar and contemporary art collection, is extensive and displayed beautifully in large white rooms with the light coming through the holes of the outside wall.We started on the 3rd floor, the 2nd floor is where you’ll see part of the vault that stores the collection. On the 1st floor you’ll find more art and the gift shop. The whole thing takes about an hour to an hour and a half.We parked about a block away, metered parking $6 for two hours.

Parking was easy and located underground, but keep in mind, even with partial validation from the museum rates will still be high since it is downtown L.A. Entering was fast and easy with our reservations, and they no longer hand out maps of the museum, so you can just go directly to the museum website for a map or scan the code to get the link to the website and audio features. We last visited before 2020, and today we enjoyed the art installations and exhibits we saw. The shop has a wide variety of items that feature many of the different artists on display. I enjoyed the shop much more on this visit because of the wide selection and prices. I would recommend this museum for high school aged students, but there are adult themes and sexual content/gestures in some exhibits, so please keep that in mind.

On Saturday (our next to last day in Los Angeles), my friends and I ventured to the Broad in downtown Los Angeles. This museum was an incredible building, just to start. The architecture was really interesting and very much the sort of thing that I enjoy (and hope to have in my own home, someday. The art within the museum was remarkable, as well. What stood out most to me were the exhibits about injustice and inequality. These were remarkable, visionary, sometimes painful pieces that could jerk tears from my eyes. I found the exhibit to be deeply moving and powerful. I’m immensely grateful to the artists for their work and to the museum for displaying the pieces proudly. I hope that we continue to see works like this be created and have lights shone upon them.On a lighter note, I was a bit disappointed that the mirror exhibit I had hoped to see was closed, as this was something I was looking forward to, but this is such a minor, meaningless complaint that it isn’t going to affect my overall rating for the museum itself.

WOW! When The Broad first opened, it was impossible to get tickets. we tried and tried and it just didnt work out... so after a while... we just forgot about it. Years went by... then the other day when our family was trying to think about what to do the next day, we thought... HEY! I wonder if we could get tickets to The Broad tomorrow... and guess what? They were booked. JUST KIDDING!!! We got tickets!!!!You need to reserve tickets online, but to get in is FREE!!! Well sort of... expect to pay $27/car for parking. But the sting of a $27 parking bill is soothed when you think of that youre downtown... everywhere is going to be like that, mixed with... heck - you got into the museum for free!!! And believe me, it makes the trip that much more convenient.Just as the outside of the building is cool... so is the inside! The lobby is like a cave area. The artworks are amazing as well! Ive never seen a Warhol in person before and they have TONS of them!!!Ill be honest in saying, my experience would have been even better without the kids... but even with the kids it was cool. Be sure to ask to do the kids scavenger hunt as it is REALLY well done. Its not specific questions like... find this painting... it make you think - Find a piece of art that makes you sad... happy... that makes you laugh... that youd give a friend etc... The guy at the end forgot to give us part of the prize (he gave us the directions and left out the box with the art kit inside... whoops...), but he was super nice and helped us with directions around town.If youre with your family, I recommending seeing the museum (which wont take you forever with kids, depending on how interested they are), then go out of the museum, bang a right and then a left where Angels Flight is and take that down ($1 a ride I think) and it spits you out RIGHT at Grand Central Market for lunch! Take it back up again to your car and its a perfect DTLA day!!!

We visited Tge Broad Museum and we both thoroughly enjoyed the building that houses the museum and all the art collections within. He was amazed with the collection of contemporary art...he had a different idea of what type of art that was. He enjoyed the variety of art pieces and how they were displayed. A variety of staff members also surprised us by giving a little background on various art pieces...and that added to our enjoyment of tge museum. And its FREE....UNBELIEVABLE. Im so proud of Los Angeles to offer this high quality of entertainment as compared to sites like Hollywood Blvd or tours of Hollywood Star homes.

I went here in 2019.This is a nice museum to learn about contemporary art in Los Angeles. You will have to book tickets online to avoid the wait. Free admission. There are basements parking although it can be expansive.I’m from OC so I took the train to Union Station and walked here, or you can go by bus. The fare is $10 for round trip tickets from OC, LA bus fare already included. Very good deal and you don’t have to worry about parking in downtown LA.It took 2 hours for me to finish the whole museum. Fun for hangout, date, solo or anything you like. Arts are unique and colorful. A lot of people go here to take Instagram pictures since it’s very Instagram-worthy.Overall, good experience, will comeback every now and then.

Nice art. But who decides what art really is? Or what art is valuable? Why do we view art? Is it to feel something? To criticize? To see our own cultural - or another’s - reflected in a way we do not get in daily life? To prove to our friends we are sophisticated and cool? Whose art gets displayed? What do those choices say about our culture? Perhaps more than the art itself…As you can see, my visit to the Broad prompted many fascinating questions, even if the collection itself was a bit small. It’s worth a visit.

Always a good time. I would check the website to see what the exhibits are before you go. When they are installing a new one, half of it is closed. If you try to reserve tickets, it will be most likely sold out, but they always have a stand by line. During peak travel/ tourist season, if you plan on going with stand by, I would go one hour before it opens to Wait in line (May be 1.5 hours on sat and sun or if new exhibit) if not, expect to wait 2 plus hours. Most of the time it is free sometimes they charge for either half or all of the exhibits but the most I have ever paid is 15 dollars.I personally like to start at the opposite path and walk through the rooms backwards so it is not as crowded. Also, grand central market is close by and is a cool spot to eat, snack, drink or hang out. I love the BroadInfinity room hacks:1. Go first thing in the morning and when you enter the museum make a b-line to the infinity sign up kiosk on your left2. When you sign up you get text alerts, save your ticket your time will be for some long time in advanced (it will be actually 1/3 of the expected time most of the time since most people give up)3. If it is a long time, the museum takes about 1.5 hour and the moca is a five min walk and is also free so I sometimes go to that while I wait or go grab a bite4. If you go and the kiosk says it is closed. Wait in front of it. It will open as people drop out. This usually works up until 3 hrs before closing
