This is a very special place. An oasis in DTLA- the bathrooms are super chic and the patrons are very cool.
Great atmosphere and amazing scent of incense and candles around the place. Place has 2 addresses(also one on Venice corner of alley this is where entry and flyer for night was found). Supposedly handicap entrance from Hope St. But the address listed is for a closed sportswear? Venue is on second floor mostly overlooking Venice. Small bar. Clean. Small PA. Nicer than Handbag Factory aka Seahorse Sound Studios(worse stairs) and much bigger than Coaxial, both of which are located close to this venue.
Very accomodating space. Slightly warm on hot days but very hospitable, great views, friendly venue host, nice space for the purpose of a group gathering approximately 40-60 people. The group I was with used 2 bathrooms & kitchen + catering.
We came for a wedding, place was perfect for a party of 100 . Great decor and parking at the back $5 .
One of many recent LAs underbellys art happenings turn full circle--slow, churning artist spaces producing an array of exhibitions, group and solo focuses--concurrently, the Queer Biennial is back once again, a gathering of the best contemporary LQBTQ+ artists selected and curated happening now for the month of Pride, June shines its glory on all who see the sheen in the middle of the night. A must see for any explorers interested in amazing art, new art spaces and conversation starters revolving around and into the contemporary art world.
What a spacious and beautiful space! Everyone had a wonderful magical time:)
Excellent storage for local artists and talks on todays issues
Great community of artists, thinkers and revolutionaries.
Navel is great, I was looking for something like this.
Amazing place with even better peopleLove the word the carpenter has done throughout--- very glamorous. Only complaint is parking and not having night parking for events even thoguht they have a huge lot, little used by the day businesses. Doesnt feel safe around the hospital and freeway, walking as a woman or even a delicate male-- whoch seems like the bulk of their clientele. There security guard wasnt actually on the street looking out for us walking to him, he was just zoned out on his celphone or radio, nested beuinf a gate in the lot. Ao jes just there to tell us not to park in the lot, not to protect anyone or anything.
Loved this place, open and place to relax and see film
