I hired IKB to bring significantly more light into my 10 year old Tuscan styled kitchen and eating area. It was a complicated and extremely detail oriented project because we we were not simply gutting the interior. Although some exterior and interior walls and ceilings were being removed, it was necessary to carefully work around radiant heat flooring, existing extensive cabinetry and other interior details that were being retained. The attention to detail and the professional handling of the project was really top notch. When problems arose, as they inevitably do in all construction, IKB was immediately responsive and proactive. We were 8 weeks into a projected 16-20 week project when the state of California shut everything down due to COVID-19. As such, the project proved to be a much longer, even more involved process than anyone could have anticipated, but I am very happy with the outcome. I smile every single time I enter that side of my home. I have and will continue to recommend IKB to friends and family.

IKB did a remodel project for us in the middle of some major family trauma. They were responsive, kind, and timely with work knowing we had personal challenges. Their staff and contractors were wonderful to work with and we are truly enjoying all the fruits of their labor in a home that works much better for us.

Our latest and third project with IKB was completed during the COVID-19 pandemic.IKB built a guest bathroom, (this house never had one before), a new master closet, and sliding barn doors added to our living room making it into an optional guest room, new overhead lighting, a fireplace insert, wooden floors refinished, a new roof, new solar, & a Tesla power wall. There were just so many pieces that had to fit together. This is where a real experienced contractor pays off.Once again our choice in using IKB was validated. Keith and Tyler, IKB’s builders, thedesigners, Lucy the project manager, all the office staff and subcontractors were so great towork with. I would call my design style “Industrial bohemian”. When our designer said“we can work with that” I was surprised and delighted. Our new guest bathroom is exactly that,industrial bohemian. Who knew? For the rest of it, selecting lighting, doors, door handles, everynut and bolt can be exhausting but it all came together at the end.We started with IKB when we remodeled an outdated master bathroom. We were so impressed with the IKB designers & builders, Keith and Tyler, that we signed on to get a kitchen remodel as well.During the kitchen remodel, we decided to live in our house during the entire process, setting up an outdoor kitchen in our backyard and eating out.Keith, Tyler & the subcontractors became like family to us. As a professional chef and restaurateur, I knew my way around kitchen design. Home design materials are not as durable as professional materials but professional materials are not beautiful.The IKB designers were able to help us find tough, durable materials that were beautiful and timeless looking. After 13 years, people still marvel at how beautiful our kitchen design is. IKB was able to finish 3 weeks earlier than expected!Any good craftsman will tell you that a good outcome depends on the prep. You can’t make agreat meal unless you use great ingredients. The same thing goes for construction projects. Ifyou don’t do your work prior to starting your project, it will not go smoothly and you will not behappy with the results. IKB does the work, and they take pride in the results.
