We have booked with Larry several times & have always been treated like his best clients. I thing he treats everyone this way. This trip was 2 days of walleye fishing for 5 of us. Joe was a hardworking and great guide. Limited our both days before 10:00 with several really nice fish.

Ive wanted to Walleye fish Lake Erie for years, we live 1,000 miles away in Kansas. My brother in law booked a trip. Six of us went out and the trip exceeded my expectations. We had a top notch captain in Joe, he set us on some big brutes and we limited out in 3.5 hrs. 50 lbs of filets.Thanks to all hoping to repeat again and again!

Despite the rain and rough weather, captain Mike and first mate Brian put us on the fish and got our limit in only a few hours. Overall, great first experience with a charter and will certainly be back next year.

The Walleye Hunter is one of the most impressive Charter boats on Lake Erie. Not only is the boat itself as nice as they make them but you add to that a truly experienced and professional Captain Jim Woods, a guy who I’m pretty sure can smell and track Walleye from a mile away with his eyes closed, I would put that boat up against any other on the Lake.The experience with the Walleye Hunter was amazing, Captain Jim graciously worked with and taught 4 teen boys how to get it done, first mate Tim kept the lines rolling and it was an education in excellence watching those two pros work their magic. I have been on 6 fishing charters in my life, 2 others on Lake Erie and 3 in the Atlantic ocean, and my experience with Fish and Fowl topped them all.We departed from the Lorain Harbor, which was a much nicer experience than the location we departed from on my other 2 Erie charters. There was a coffee shop right next to the docks to grab breakfast and coffee from (we were on the early morning charter) and a restaurant to eat lunch at after we returned and were waiting for our fish to be cleaned. The view going out into the lake was nice. You have some great photo opportunities with the sunrise and the Lorain Lighthouse.Our guide, Joe Beno, was also the best guide Ive ever had on one of these charters. On the charter I took just a month earlier, we were told the walleye werent biting, and were convinced to fish for perch instead. On this one, Joe admitted we were going to have to work for the walleye (this was early September), so he took us 17 miles out into the lake to ensure that we got em—and we did. We hit our limit with nice, big walleye in a catch that was just as good as one from peak season.Joe was an incredibly friendly and personable guy, but he also knew what he was doing and wasnt afraid to act as a guide and teacher. The trolling setup we used was pretty complex (to us at least), and he made sure we got to play a part in it. We werent just passively waiting for him to give us fish to reel in. We were swapping out rods, setting the depth of lines, hooking things up to other things. All of this was almost as exciting as catching the fish.We returned about 6 hours after departing. We hung our fish up for a photo, they gutted and cleaned them for us in about an hour, and there was a restaurant right there for us to grab lunch while we were waiting.At the time of this review, they dont take card as a form of payment, so make sure you remember to bring cash. And Id recommend that everyone take dramamine, even if you dont think you need it. Getting sick could easily spoil a trip like this.We had a great time. If youre considering a walleye charter on Lake Erie, I cant imagine youll find a better option than Fish and Fowl.

I have fished with Captain Larry and crew for 10+ years and I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience.He goes above and beyond to put fish in the cooler.The is lodging is very clean and spacious and very quiet area. I want to thank Captain Larry and crew for their hard work for all the memories of our fishing adventures.Looking forward to 10+ more years of fishing and many more memories. This is the second time we have used this charter and again it was a great experience. Captain Joe is the best. He lands you on the fish every time. He allows your group to basically take over the fishing aspect while he drives the boat. I can’t imagine doing this any other way. We will be back again!

Great experience!! My wife my son and I wanted to do some fishing while in the lake Erie area we had no experience with walleye fishing so we contacted fish and fowl. They were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had! We went out with captain Joe and he was very professional and extremely patient with our 10 year old son who had just about a thousand questions to ask him all while setting up our lines and driving the boat!! This was a great experience and I would highly recommend them if your in the area!!

We had a group of 6 and most of us hadn’t been on any sort of charter, or fished with professionals before but we all had a blast and reeled in some good size walleye. I had a terrific time fishing with Captain Larry and my family yesterday. We made our limit on walleye and had fresh fish for dinner. He really knows his way around the lake to take us to the great fishing spots and is very patient and helpful with the novice fishermen, like me. Captain Joe and Captain Zack made it a great day, we had been supplied not only with exact location but also a aerial map of the marina which made it very easy to find in the dark that early in the morning. Their location was well lit and supervised felt very secure leaving our personal belongings and vehicle behind. Our morning started with some wind out of the North East which is normally and issue on lake Erie but captain and crew put us on a course that made our run out very enjoyable. After some very thorough instruction and Hands-On training he had my family operating as a well-oiled machine and we started catching fishing mediately. Was so pleased that the captain and crew conducted themselves in a very professional manner, I didnt hear any bad language or negative comments the whole day. All of their tackling and equipment was clean and well-maintained did not have any complications throughout the day. We caught our limit and when we returned to the marina they had a gentleman there to pick up our fish and clean them which if Im not mistaken from the time he picked them up and got back wasnt much more than a half hour. I know we will be fishing with this crew again and look forward to possibly a hunting trip.

Vacation to our family Canadian cottage retreat of 60 years obviously not happening this year. Soo.... our family with Bapa (Pops), Grammy, 3 children w/spouses and 6 grandchildren had to somehow modify our week of vacation. Two families from southern Ohio traveled north and we had great fun here in Lorain County and camping at the KOA in Homerville, then the highlight of the week was our fabulous Fishing Charter with Jimmy, Tim, and Joe With Fish and Fowl Adventures. This company is top notch, hard workers and know how and where to catch fish. Our grandchildren had a great time too (ages 7-11) and thought it was great. Our Captains and Mate were very patient and kind to them. Our big fish fry that evening at home was delicious with the fresh Lake Erie Walleye and one nice Steelhead. We would definitely use this company again and highly recommend you give them a try!!

We took our first charter with Capt Joe. He was very laid backand had no problem explaining things to us and our kids (12 and 13) didnt make you feel dumb if you didnt understand things. He was very informative and explaind about the area. Happy to answer any questions. 100% would recommend this charter company and we will be using them again next time we go out. Well worth it, very enjoyable day and went home with lots of fish.

We went out with captain Larry on the WEISSGUY out of Lorain yesterday. We left from Spitzer Riverside Marina at 6:30 and we’re back with our limit by 8:30. Fishing was fast and furious. The boat was very well maintained and the equipment was top notch. Unlike other trolling charters, we actually got to run all of the rods, with expert instruction of course. Awesome day!
