Worst wrapping ever, butcher who cut by far inexperienced, they ask what you want they dont do it or follow thorough, price is same in Portland for way better job. Absolutely by far worst butchershop in state.

Small front end, very nice staff. I picked up a few tri-tip steaks for a pretty good price and tried them the next day. Just salt and pepper in a hot cast iron skillet and they were amazing. Great flavor, and very noticeably better than the local supermarkets

Best Jerky and Pepperoni ive had living around this area. Drive up from Washougal a couple times a month. Ever in Longview check Matts Meat Market out. Great staff that works there as well. Going to try some of the brats this summer, looking forward to throwing those on the bbq.

Good local butcher shop. Prime cuts as well as pepperoni sticks an jerky. Very clean and prompt friendly staff. Prices are reasonable however I end up spending too much. They also have the coolest taxidermied bulls on the wall.

A business who keeps there word is hard to find these days. I had been coming to these guys for years, unfortunately that will stop immediately.I do not appreciate a business that goes back on their word. After several years of being told to try these guys out, I finally did and I am impressed!The first thing I noticed is how friendly and inviting they are. Even on the phone. Everyone I dealt with was young. But they have great customer service skills and they are very knowledgeable.They seem to have better options for custom selections. One young lady in the office educated me on some of the meat process and led me to make some good choices.It smells very clean. Usually a butcher shop smells like meat. I didnt notice this here. Not that its a big deal to smell meat at a butcher shop, but It actually smelled clean. Like a hospital or something.On the day they said it would be done, I got a call. Once again, friendly and professional. Gave me the total. Told me payment options.I started to get excited when I went to pick up my game. I followed another rig up the hill to the shop that had Oregon plates. If this guy made the drive from Oregon, I might be in the right place. I spoke with the guy once we arrived. He explained that this place, is the only place.When my game meat came out. It was frozen solid and stacked nicely. Everything is neat. Stacked neat, packaged neat, all of it. Clean, neat, organized.In closing, the wife and I are very pleased with the experience, from first call to the table. Perfect!!Thanks, we will be back soon!

Ive been taking my wild game animals and Matt has done all my custom farm butchering for over 13 years. Always provides a great service. All my customers rave about the vacuum packaging of the meat they receive. Matts custom meats is the only place to go as far as Im concerned.

We’ve used Matt’s for several years for our grass-fed beef. I applaud their quick and humane way of putting the animal down and also that they vacuum pack/seal the meat packages. I’ve never had a package of meat leak while thawing, unlike what occurs with other packaged meat I’ve gotten from a different butcher. We will always use Matt for our beef harvesting and butchering needs.

Just got my pork back today and it looks amazing, better than I was even expecting! They have a very clean and professional operation going with an awesome facility. I hope to raise more and have them take care of business in the future. Highly recommended! (Thanks for updating the hours)🙂

First time Ive ever used Matts Meats. I will never use another. They did wild boar for us, the packaging and cutting were perfect, the breakfast sausage was the best Ive ever had. Perfect seasoning and amount of fat. I cant wait to take deer and elk and have pepperoni and beer sausage made there.

Brought in a moose and bear. When I picked up my meat I recieved no back strap from the moose. I questioned them and was told there was loss due to poor field prep. Bull. All meat was boned and then put on ice before being brought in. My brother and I have deboned many large game animals in the past and the moose was done with extra care, no damage. I was told by other hunter he had almost identical experience with Matts. They screwed me out of my one in life hunt best cuts. Even 1 star is to good for this dishonest butcher shop

Brought in an 80 pound hanging weight deer. I got back 42 pounds of sausage. You cant tell me that 49 percent of my deer were bones! I talked to Matt and he was annoyed at my question and said that was normal. What about the fat they put in!? He said it depends on how much they need to trim off and insinuated gut shot trim off. My shot was a perfect pass through the lungs. I even got a compliment from the guy who hung it for me on the nice job of cleanup I did. Matts math is not correct! I will not be going back!

Matt and crew butchered 6 steers for us and we have been doing this for a long time, they did all 6 in 2 1/2 hours and you would have never known they were here. We picked up all of the beef and everything was excellent and his meat operation is one of the cleanest I have ever seen.I would recommend him and his crew to anybody. Class A operation.

We have them butcher around 12 beef a year for our farm customers. They do a great job. I understand that many reviewers have a natural distrust of all butchers when it comes to their game and meat in general. I think it is kind of ingrained in us hunters from an early age.You cant bring in 100 pounds of meat, however, and think you are going to get 100 pounds back, it just doesnt work that way. For instance, the customer complaining that they didnt get the right amount of pepperoni back inst understanding that when you smoke pepperoni, it dries out. It will consequently lose some weight. You can bring in 20 pounds, add suet(which I never have done btw,) and still have less than 20 pounds because of shrinkage and dehydration during smoking the pepperoni. It does add up if you take into consideration the loss of moisture.Basically, if you dont trust someone, dont do business with them, but dont badmouth them in a public forum when you dont fully understand the process either. This is their job, and from our experience, they do a great job of it.

Do not trust this butcher. I brought them a beautiful elk. My order was short an entire tenderloin and an entire backstrap at pick up. After Matt himself tried blaming me for about 50 pounds of missing elk including half of the best cuts of meat, he mysteriously found the rest of my elk. But what he delivered was not my elk please see the pictures I posted. BEWARE THIS BUISNESS!!

People have all these rave reviews, I guess they just dont know about meat. Matts has been nicking meats for years from us. Bolars butcher is worse they took a whole pig and gave me some freezer burned pig. The old man paid me for the pig, but I raised that pig to eat not for some bullshit going on in the backroom.Matts guys swap packs of meat in your order. Example last pig had 36 lbs of scrap for sausage and we received 77 one pound sausage rolls???? We have free range pigs on grain mix from the mill.NO FRANZ BREAD last bacon had a lot of fat and it felt slimy and stunk.We use to sell pigs to people but the conplaints were so bad we had to stop. So now we have lost income because some dirt bag in the backroom is stealing meat. But what are we to do. two butchers are running the show in 100 miles. We are butchering our pigs ourselfs now. Steers???? it just kills me

Always right on with the meat and always exactly what you ask for! People need to realize when you bring in a 90lb deer your gonna get close to half in meat after trim and bones and rib cage is gone, matt and his staff are always helpful even when its busy and chaotic!

Wonderful service and products!!!

Took in nineteen pounds deer meat in to have hamburger made. They weighed it right in front of me when I dropped it off... I told them I wanted twenty percent fat added to it... When I picked it up I had eighteen one pound packages of meat.... Something isnt adding up... Simple math really... No one could really give me a good answer... It was just like, duh, I dont know anything........ Well I know something, I wont be back... We used to process our own game meat, but we are getting older and its harder to do.... this place and Bolars have you coming and going because they know you dont have a choice.... I think they get away with it because most people just pick up the meat, pay, and dont check, and then every once in awhile they have to catch hell because someone knows somethings not right and they are confronted..... In any case there is a need for their business and they can do whatever they want......
