I will never do business with Pape again. Ever since they acquired Chinook mower dealer, they have been a nightmare. Long, long waits to get my mower back. Lots of deceitful lies, pathetic excuses, fake apologies, and intentional stalling. Its blatantly obvious that mower repairs is at very bottom of their priority list. I will never do business with them again, or have any repairs done by them again. I am going on my 4th week of waiting for a belt, and still no end in site. I am going to talk to manager tomorrow, and I expect more lies. Basically Im going to demand my mower back, so someone else can put a belt on it. Do not do business with them, or you will be sorry, when you need repairs.

We went to Pape Machinery our first stop looking for a small lawn tractor. We were met by Steve W. with a friendly smile he asked how he could help. When we told him the size of homesite he showed us a few different options and size machines. With each machine he explained the differences and was very knowledgeable. He was very friendly and not pushy about just selling us something on the spot. Instead he gave us some information for us to look over night. Steve made some suggestions for us to think about. We went home discussed our options. We went back the next day and purchased the one that will work best for our needs. We highly recommend Pape and ask for Steve he was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with and we will go back for additional attachments as needed,Ed and Rose

Had my mower for a lower deck fix. 2 weeks never called me to update. I had to bug them to get on it. I would chalk it up to chance but talked to three other people who had the same experience.

I bought a X590, the sale went great. I did my homework, applied for the credit plan. Then went in and Jesse got me going with my new mower. Things went down hill from that point, parts Guy didnt get my trailer in, after 15 day I got mad, he told me the trailer was on back order . I looked it up and found them at portland store. He then said they would not ship it here. So I got on phone, Josh a manager loaded up a trailer and brought it from Portland for me, thanks for that. Trailer got it. Then I just for heck of it checked air pressure in tires, I found rear tires had 27psi in them, max is 10 in rear 12 in front, they need to watch QC in service department and parts department. I will only order parts on line with JD as parts department has failed

Updated 8/28/2021Showed up at 8 with a 4052R that keeps overheating. Within an hour Jessie and crew had me back up and running. Taught me a couple tricks I didn’t know about! Great TEAM! Awesome people. My tractor is my livelihood, and whenever I am down hard, PAPE Longview ALWAYS comes through and gets me back up and running.Great service. Awesome staff. I won’t go anywhere else for my tractor and farming needs. Go see Jessie in sales. He’s knowledgeable, dependable, professional and goes out of his way for all his customers!

As of 4 days ago it is no longer Chinook Sales & Rentals. It is now PAPE MACHINERY. As far as my visit? I was going to buy the part I needed as a new not original equipment part off Amazon. Instead, I walked into the store and walked out minutes later with a new OE part at a fraction of the cost over Amazon.

If you are delivering, get nose in through the left (South) gate and back up to the small portable ramp. Then you will get out though the other gate. I did that with my 18-wheeler 53 feet trailer. People here were nice.

I took my Gator in for repair, When I called they said bring it in we are not busy, no problem. I called 1 week later and they still have not looked at it. I was angry and expressed my self. They said the service Manager would call on Monday, No call, so on Saturday I called and it still was not fixed. I told them I would be right down to pick it up. I have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past and the first time I needed service they failed big time. I will not go back or buy another thing from them.

John Deere best tractor in the world. People at Chinook Sales & rentals are awesome people and freely give advice on ways to do things in your yard and what equipment is needed and they dont rush you out the door even when its closing.

We took our riding John Deere lawn mower in for general maintenance service in March 1, 2013. (no it is a bit of a hassle to take a riding lawn mower in for services as you have to trailer it in) We confirmed with them that they would sharpen the blades and that the mower deck was mowing unevenly. Initially they told us 3 weeks until it could be serviced. We had to call them at 3 weeks to ask about picking it up and that was when we were told they had not started on it yet and it would now be another 2 weeks. We called again at 1 1/2 weeks and were told another week. It ended up taking nearly 6 weeks to get it back. We used the lawn mower approximately once a week until late September. We thought that it still seemed to cut unevenly and the self mulching blades were not doing the best job but since we had just paid for a complete service on it and the grass was not nearly as thick as it had been in early spring maybe that was just how it was. So in the spring of 2014 when the grass here in the northwest in very thick and heavy we started mowing again. We noticed that the mower deck was definitely cutting unevenly and there was lots of grass left behind with the mulching blades. We took off the blades and discovered one had NEVER been sharpened and it took two people 30 minutes to get it off as it was very tight. (obviously not just taken off less than a year before!). I took the blades in to Chinook Sales and asked them about it. The man at the front counter insisted that the wear looked quite typical for 25-35 mowings. This response was quite impossible as the sharp side was as dull as the non cutting side!! We had to repair the mower deck to make it level, adjust the pulleys so the belts stayed on and there was a motor mount bolt missing.Basically I do not think they ever completely serviced our machine. If they did as he says then I recommend you take your mower elsewhere as their service is quite substandard and not worth your money.

Went in yesterday to this location and this one guy gave me out of this world service, go in today and got helped by this lady (supposedly a stihl authorized dealer) tell her I have a stihl 56 Rc, after a bit of looking on computer she looked up with puzzled look and asked (what is that)so I explain....after more waiting you would figure the rest is easy so after minutes she asked the girl next to her where would she find the trigger on website...I asked her how long because I was on clock and got the other girls rudely said response we can call you when we find it....realy ....never mind let them know I was going to go check cowlitze river rigging, and the said go a head! wow CCC new there stuff by time the other lady figured out what it was CCC had it looked up found out was out and was already working on getting used out of old trimmer....so ended up spending 68.00 bucks and in next couple of weeks buying a new bigger model fs 111 from CCC... gave them 2 stars because of the great service first day...or would have been 0 to 1 star.if 2 out of 3 of employees i delt with are rude or not efficient at there job I prefure to go where they value MY time..

Took my old stihl chainsaw in to have fixed, after going to a few other places and they took a look at it and took it apart and told me that this part isnt made anymore etc. They offered me to get a new saw but it was out of my budget. Then suggested renting one, so i did.
