I am not a gym rat; i love fitness boot camps due to variety of routines and exercises. Scott delivers what I want and need to get fit. I am older now and can’t afford an injury; Scott is a DPT and provides instruction for proper form to prevent injury, integrates cognitive skills (have to pay attention and memorize the routines as he demonstrates the set) and utilizes functional movements for an overall body workout including cardiac each session. I attend the large group classes; 45 minutes long and on the way home. I am not dieting but have lost 11 lbs in 3 months and am keeping it off! That’s a bonus for me; it’s the most effective means of getting fit which is my goal rather than weight loss!
Im about to sign up for my third year at I Defy Fitness, and Ill tell you!!! Its one of the best things Ive ever done for myself! Scotts an expert at what he does . He tailors the workouts to the individuals abilities AND nudges you toward your best efforts. I couldnt be more pleased!!
This place is exceptional. I feel like I am genuinely achieving fitness in a way that is healthy and does not put me at risk for an injury. I have attended some of the other crazy fitness places and ended up hurting my back. Not here! I feel they understand how the body works. If you are looking for a gym near you, call I Defy Fitness.
Ive taken a lot of group training classes. This is the only place I felt safe pushing past my comfort zone. It is a full body workout and I never got bored! Looking forward to more training and working towards my nutrition goals with Scott.
Have been working out here since the day it opened and haven’t regretted one work out since... feeling stronger, more mobile and far less back pain thanks to Scott
Scott is the best, since I’ve been stretching the correct way, my injured knee is so much better. He makes sure I get the right/correct form.Súper awesome Scott!
Great quality workout for the body and brain. I tend to get bored with workouts that are the same thing over and over. At idefy, Scott mixes it up and keeps my attention and body engaged.
Ive spent the better part of my adult life trying to find a workout routine that I could stick to. I usually made it about a week, sometimes two, before Id get bored, lose motivation, or injure myself. I joined a gym once when I first got into weight lifting and never liked going because of my own insecurities and because of the type of people that frequented the gym. I just never felt comfortable there. I also have some chronic pain including multiple back issues and shoulder impingement so I recently worked with an FMS trainer to address my pain and movement issues. Some of them got better, some got worse, and some new ones showed up so I Id basically given up on finding something I enjoyed and could do without hurting myself.I was at the grocery store last fall and came out to find a flyer from I Defy on my windshield. Thats a pet peeve of mine so usually I refuse to patronize any business that leaves anything on my car but Im glad I took the time to read this one. I came in for my first workout on Nov 10th and very quickly knew this was the place for me. Scott is extremely knowledgeable while being kind and patient yet motivating. The classes are small so you have personal attention from Scott and get to know the people youre working out with, which makes it more fun. Everyone that works out here is nice and welcoming, with a wide range of abilities and demographics. The workouts are very well designed so youre getting functional movements, cardio, and strength training all at once. If something hurts or you cant do a movement in the workout Scott will help you modify it so you can. If youre a competitive person like I am, having people to workout with is motivating and pushes you to work harder than you would on your own.In the 2.5 months that Ive been working out at I Defy I have had significant improvements in my strength, work capacity, pain issues, and physical appearance. I workout here 3 days a week now and its become one of my favorite activities, which is saying a lot. Lately Ive even been getting up early on Saturday to fit in a fourth session.
Effort over ego. Quality over Quantity. It’s not about hows many reps, sets, or Weights. Just Quality work with Quality people. 🏋️
Kicks my tail every time. Want to have fun, recover from injuries, and workout Viking-Style? I Defy Fitness is the place. And, the owner/lead instructor is a physical therapist.
