Where can I start? The Edison Apartments are quite literally in the heart of Downtown Long Beach. You are walking distance from all of the downtown hotspots such as the Pike, the Marina, Convention Center, Art District, and even the Beach are just a couple blocks away. You only really have to drive around if you are wanting to leave the city the walkability for essential things you need from groceries to a local dentist is all close by.The staff here do there best to accommodate your needs as they come. Jeannie at the front desk saved my bacon many times with my losing my keys. Sergio is always around during the day to help facilitate maintenance as quickly and promptly as possible. There is an app to make requests and things are finished quickly. I had an issue with my AC and fridge awhile back and they got it fixed within 24-48. Hours. There are quite a few amenities but I most enjoy the sky lounge and roof top pool. Great for pictures, bringing in friends or just trying to mellow out and study next to the water. On a clear sky day you can see LA in the distance.Location, safety, excellent staff and fun neighbors. I just gotta to losing my keys….
Looking for a new place, just drove by. Looks quite elegant from outside!
Ive been living at the Edison for a year now, and have to say its the BEST spot in town. I moved here from out of town and signed a 15 month lease WITHOUT seeing the place first, which was a little scary to say the least. Jeanine was my Leasing Consultant and handled everything for me over the phone, she was extremely helpful and made sure everything was perfect for me on move-in day. The leasing staff, management, and maintenance team are very personable and professional, making my time living here more like a luxury rather than just a place for the time being. The apartment itself has great amenities, I absolutely love the gym and the pool (when theyre open COVID times). The location is close to everything down town, the beach, dinning, night life, and running/biking paths. If youre wondering if this place is for you, the answer is YES!
If you want to be downtown within walking distance of everything, the Edison! This place has everything. Beautiful contemporary/modern/industrial units, rooftop pool, amazing views, great gym, centrally located, and security. lucy in the leasing office made me feel so welcomed and she was always very helpful. Security and housekeeping have been wonderful too. It’s definitely an amazing place to live and I highly recommend it.
After living here for just a little over a year, I can gladly say I enjoyed every moment of it. The Edison staff does a great job at keeping our home safe, clean and luxurious as much as possible. Though COVID did alter some basic amenities, the staff took great measures to ensure our health was of great importance for everyone. The views from the top of the building are great year round and the modern furniture touch Edison provides, a sense of relief. Concrete flooring and thick walls makes it easy to maintain privacy with minimal effort of upcoming when it come to cleaning the floors.Jeanine and so many others who keep our building top notch are great professionals and ensure any issue that may come up are addressed right away.I enjoy the rapport they build with having apartment get togethers as much as they can. The turnout is always nice and is a great way to meet other professionals living in the same building. The Edison is located in a great spot that is safe and close to a lot of small restaurants and bars within walking distance.Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice spot that isnt to busy and is close to the water. The gated parking garage is great to keep your vehicles safe and secure as well.I give this place FIVE stars for a great place to live. I would look forward to living at this property again in the future.Thank you Edison Apartments for providing me a great place to live.
I am so very happy to live here. At first I was a bit skeptical since I have a young child but the office staff has made our living here feel like a home. My baby loves everyone in the office. Lucy has taken care of any questions we have and is always going above an beyond for us! She always has healthy snacks for my little one waiting. Sergio is the man! He is on top of anything that needs assistance. When we first moved into the building the AC unit was glitching and he attended our needs within minutes! Janine and Juanita are so sweet and always have an upbeat and loving attitude. And of course Lina, she is amazing! I’m every aspect. They work great as a team to make sure we feel at home. We live the events they put together and always feel welcome. Thank you guys for making this place home!
Allow me to preface this review by stating that I lived here from August 2018 - April 2019, under the same management the entire time of my stay (Avenue5 Residential, managed onsite by Josh G.). The initial few months at Edison were admittedly not as subpar as the events that would follow, especially upon move-out -- but I truly caution anyone looking to move in to this building to think twice about their decision, given the events I am presently enduring at the hands of Avenue5 and Josh, Manager.First, in October, I endured a regrettable stalker situation, when a young transient who took a liking to me (after randomly meeting me outside the building one day), infiltrated the Edison on multiple occasions, looking for me on multiple floors, asking fellow residents where I lived, and bypassed Edison security on several different nights. A random guy wandering the halls, after bypassing lobby security, looking for you and your apartment late at night - a very calming thought, do you not think? They had him on several cameras, and wrote up an incident report -- which I appreciated -- but then, when it continued, I opted to terminate my lease early under California law, as a victim of stalking. Josh, the onsite manager, was often dismissive and defensive when I confronted him over my ongoing concerns with my safety and the extremely poor security team, whom let this guy sneak in the building on 5+ occasions. They did in the end honor my early lease break (legally they had to), but not without caveats, sending their lawyer to tell me I could no longer contact corporate - which was later debunked by contacting my own counsel (now just waiting for their lawyer to tell me I cant post a review online!) and causing me further ongoing distress at move-out one week ago.As renters, we face the worry of security deposit refunds being withheld at move-out for arbitrary reasons, a very common practice in California tenancy. In my case, at move-out, several days later, I received an email from Edwin, the Assistant Manager at Edison, stating that they were deducting $500 for countertop refinishing, in addition to a very high paint fee, and double-charging me for utilities which I already had paid. I only lived in this unit FIVE (5) months; I took videos and photos on move out day, which reflect no damage at all to the countertops mentioned. In the photos they sent, there appears to be white residue in excess of what is noted in my own photos and videos, which they refer to as $500 worth of damage. In trying to amicably resolve this with Josh, he immediately refused to adjust this charge even partially, and literally outright told me to sue them in Small Claims court (email screenshot attached for your viewing). If this is how you want to be treated at move out, by all means, rent at Edison Long Beach ! However, be warned that they have hit several other tenants with this bogus charge, as evidenced by Facebook group posts of former tenants as well and from friends of mine who have rented here. Their countertops, to begin with, are dirty and of very poor quality -- you will note on move-in stains, cracks, and residue that will be blamed on you at move out, and you will be charged $500 for refinishing with little recourse. The total deduction from my deposit: $1200, after a 5 MONTH tenancy.I seriously caution anyone looking to rent here to look elsewhere - there are many places in LB that will respect you, your money and residency much more than this company - as the Edison has clearly proven, by their treatment of me.
The new management staff is quite knowledgeable and professional. They respond promptly to any questions and concerns, and they sincerely want to help you with various issues. Many residents and I have agreed that the current management is a significant improvement from the previous ones. Also, they host the BEST parties and shindigs for the residents! The whole building is kept very clean and orderly. Beautiful modern interiors, and I love the fact that I do not have to deal with carpeted floors! Inspite of the fact that many residents have pets, there are never pet stains or odors on common areas. Great amenities!...Full recreational lounge, a great gym, a pet washing room, and a swanky rooftop pool lounge area! Also, Edison is literally a short distance from my favorite downtown Long Beach spots.Lucy, Juanita, Jeanine, and Sergio – Thank you for all your work in making Edison such an amazing living experience! :)
I love living here! Prior to moving to Long Beach we toured a lot of properties in the area... None of the compared to the Edison building. The views from our apartment are worth every penny. This is a very clean older building with style. Walls are thick, I do not hear any of my neighbors.Jeanine was the first staff member we met. She was very inviting and our tour with her felt really good. She explains everything very thoroughly from day one. She is the one I see the most and always says hello. She’s remained the same nice person she was since our tour with her and I like that about her. She wasn’t being fake to just sell us on a lease. Lucy is our property manager and words can’t express how awesome she is. She’s very understanding while following by the book and doing her job. Any questions or issues I have, I always talk to her and get an answer. She’s been one of the best managers I’ve ever had to deal with. Juanita is our fairly new assistant manager. She’s helped me once with getting a package and she seems very professional and still personable. The rest of the staff is awesome!! Sergio, Jose & Lena do a great job at keeping this building functionable and clean. Anytime I submit a work order for maintenance, it is always taken care of within 1-2 days. Lena is always cleaning the building and my guest always compliment on how good the lobby and hallways smell. I WOULD GIVE 10 stars if I could. Thank you to the awesome staff.
I lived at the Edison property in Long Beach earlier this year, and had to terminate my lease due to a mobilization to active duty and overseas deployment with the military. After following the proper steps to utilize my rights under the SCRA, I was illegally charged additional rent by Avenue5 and am in an ongoing dispute with someone named Kevin in the billing department, who is unequivocally one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I have ever spoken to. So instead of devoting my full attention to training for a military deployment, I have to sit down with the JAG officer before the end of the year and pursue legal action in order to settle an illegal bill. I cannot discourage a potential renter strongly enough from doing business with this company, and the only positive idea I have associated with them is the thought of suing them for violating my rights as a member of the military.
I recently moved into the Edison Apartments back in July and since day 1 the staff and management team have made us feel right at home. Jeanine helped us with the tour and we fell in love with the building and all the amenities. The minor issues we had within our unit were quickly resolved within 1-2 days. Lucy made the process of applying for the apartment a breeze and any additional questions she has always been there to help us out. The community within the Edison apartments is always friendly and we have gotten to meet new friends here. If you’re looking for a new spot this is definitely it!
I’ve lived at The Edison for close to three years. Seriously couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Management team is amazing and there for anything you need. The amenities are ridiculous and amazing. Seldom do I ever have any issues. If I do, Sergio and his awesome staff are there almost instantaneously to fix it right up. Cannot day enough amazing things about living here.
Excellent amenities. Donte and Jade were very helpful and flexible during our move in, despite the rainstorms overtaking LA. Maintenance requests for heating and toilet issues arrived quickly. Looking forward to a great year at the Edison!
It is a privilege to live at the Edison. Not only are the common areas and apartments chic, clean, and luxurious, the management staff (Semaj, Manuel, and Alex) are kind, courteous, and professional. Maintenance requests are responded to promptly, and I get the sense that the property owners truly care about the building - its a jewel within the East Village Arts District.
Great building, horrible property manager and management company. I have lived at numerous apartments throughout the years and property manager, Josh Gutierrez, and property management company, Avenue5, are by far the worst! I didn’t realize how much a management company can make, or break, a living experience until living at The Edison! Not worth the frustration of constantly having to deal with nickel and dime fees, poor communication and incompetent management! Do your homework and avoid The Edison and Avenue5 property management at all costs!
Absolutely fantastic place to live and the management at this property is extremely welcoming. I have never had such a wonderful experience in my life with an apartment. I would highly recommend the Edison and the management team!
I’ve been a resident at Edison for just about a year now. The apartment is beautiful. Floor to ceiling windows were the selling point for me. The apartment is smaller than I am used to but with the view outside it feels much bigger than other places. A perk to these windows- a beautiful sunset view every single night! It’s the best! The apartments have all new appliances and even a Nest thermostat that makes it super convenient. Other great amenities are the rooftop pool, gym, lounge areas and game rooms! You can’t beat it. The complex is animal friendly, which is difficult to find.. oh, and you can’t hear anyone above or beside you!! It’s so great not having to hear neighbors!.Staff is amazing too! First, Sergio is and always has been soooooo helpful. Anything you need, he’s got you. He always makes you feel welcomed whenever you run into him. Wish there were more people in this world like him. He’s wonderful! Jeanine in leasing is AMAZING as well! She has been my favorite since being a resident here. She’s always friendly, warm and inviting. She’s always present and attentive to our needs. It’s nice to have community reps who actually care about us and make us feel at home. I can’t forget about Lucy, I’ve heard great things about her. Everyone seems to enjoy her as our new property manager. I’ve only ran into her a couple of times so I haven’t been able to chat much but she seems very nice and was very open to introducing herself.I’d recommend Edison Apartments to anyone who is looking. Staff is amazing. The residents who live her are all great too. We all know eachother so it’s really nice. It’s not like you are living amongst strangers.. Agh, can’t forget! THE MAINTENANCE CREW! Anytime I’ve had any concerns of simple fixes or anything to be looked at, they were so quick to handle all my needs within the day, if not the following. They are super quick at responding and very attentive and communicative.. something you neverrrrr find in apartment complexes!! Everyone deserves a five star, but kudos to them! Oh yeah, another perk.... there is cleaning/house keeping staff present every single morning. They keep everywhere super clean and tidy so cleanliness is nothing you have to worry about. The place is great. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for nice downtown
Great place to live if you want to blast your ac all day. Floor to ceiling windows radiate heat.
Nice place
Gentrification station.
