We got our pup from Forever Home by happening upon gone of their events in a parking lot of a PetSmart. Best dog ever. She came home with lots of worms but we expected that may be the case. She came home with is at 7 weeks old and I think they should’ve waited another week to keep her with her Mama who was found in a foreclosed home but was also adopted out. Overall happy though.
We found a bonded pair online and inquired if they were available. Received a response (probably from a bot) that they were. The email said to fill out an application (which was long and detailed) and it may take 3-4 days to get a response. Applied on Saturday, no word from them so on Thursday I emailed to ask about it. its a week later...... STILL NO RESPONSE 😭 were going to look elsewhere. I just feel bad for the poor kitties who missed out on a forever home.
If you want any kind of communication- this may not be the place for you!!Was really excited to apply for a cat I had been admiring from their site/pet finder in hopes of being lucky enough to do a meet and greet with her. Just for them to not respond or follow up with me at all for nearly 2 weeks now. I completely understand that they may have a high intact of applications and people looking to reach out to them- but the unresponsiveness became frustrating. I sent in the application as instructed on their site, waited the eloted time they said it would take to review it plus more hoping to get a response. Even if it was a rejection. But nothing. I sent a follow up email, waited a few more days before trying to follow up again, and then called their voice-mail to leave a message but still no follow up.It was frustrating and upsetting to feel like I needed to pull teeth just to get any kind of response. Just for them to never respond.
Questionable authenticity organization, refuse for no reason. They don’t want you to take any animal from here.
I have had cats for six decades my partner has had cats for that long and we were denied by a form letter, doesnt tell you why. I think it would be prudent and beneficial if they told you why you were not accepted. I love cats I have room for cats I take care of my cats they see the vet twice a year religiously they are indoor cats just dont understand how we are not good parents or a good match
I noticed that all the previous negative reviews were posted during the current pandmic. Obviously it is an unprecedented time, even for pet adoptions right now. So I thought I should post a review, late as it may be.My family adopted our fur baby from Foreverhome Pet Rescue years ago. They were very patient as we contemplated the last available puppy of the litter and even let us do a meet and greet with our first doggie. Although we decided not to adopt that day, they were so gracious to let us still visit the puppy after that. ( She was placed in her perfect forever home). Long story short, we ended up adopting her litter mate under unusual circumstances and we were the perfect match! They approved our application in a couple of days and told us the first day she would be available for pick up. They also warned us that if another approved applicant wanted her they could pick her up before us. Theyre first priority was to make sure that the puppy was adopted so an approved applicant wasnt guaranteed the puppy as in the past people would back out. Most pet rescue workers are volunteers. The adoptions fees go towards vet bills and food/supplies. Foreverhome Pet Rescue work very hard and are extremely dedicated to their cause. They are so caring and passionate in their mission to save as many pets as they can and to match and place them in their FOREVER homes.
My husband and I got denied an adoption from this agency....I dont understand why. And they refuse to tell us why. I have rescued a few cats in the past, one I even bottle fed until she was old enough to eat on her own. We tried to adopt two cats so they would always have a buddy to be with. We would normally always have at least one of us home....I just dont understand what you have to do to get approved with this organization. Ive read another review and they had a similar issue. Its very frustrating and I feel bad for the cats that probably dont get loving homes as soon as they could because the organization denies so many people and doesnt give reason. Very frustrating.
I was also denied pet adoption. I rescued my last cat through rescueme.org which is where I found Forever Home Pet Rescue. I rescued my last cat at 6 years old who just passed away suddenly after being with me for 6 years. They don’t respond well, they denied me for no reason even though I agreed to rescue a bonded pair of cats/kittens.
If I see a dog through pet finder and they are the rescue I’ll immediately keep scrolling. I have ZERO respect for a rescue that upon denial of an application has no decency with regard to why. They also do not respond when you ask, they don’t clear the voicemails. I don’t have any respect for this rescue.
Im a physician and my wife an educator. Our cats were rescue and lived for 17 and 25 years. We would likely be the ideal adoptive parents, yet this organization rejected our application and would not even speak to us. Even our vet who has seen how much love we gave our cats what shocked. I do not know who runs this organization, because no one even calls back, but I have to say that if a home like ours could be rejected that I have to question the veracity of this entire organization.
I dont go into adopting a pet lightly. I am extremely detail oriented, prepare my home to be a safe, welcoming, well-equipped environment and buy premium frozen, raw foods to feed pets.We fell in love with a pair of kittens who were being fostered together and have already prepped our home with litter box, room, toys and food ready for when we get a new kitten or two. When I have cats, they are well-trained with love, played with regularly, I work from home (even outside of Coronavirus times) and I believe in trimming nails and not allowing cats to go outside. We dont have any small pets, we own a home and both of us are employed and able to take care of two kittens with experience, love an d prep. Here is the response that we received from this organization that somehow had something against us. They said our home was not a good fit cited a bunch of reasons that were not the case in our situation, and told us to check out the animal shelters that euthenize pets because they need homes. Isnt this what this organization is supposed to specialize in?The only things they could have had against our home is that we are a gay couple and weve had cats in the past who have died from natural causesor by coyotes when I believed in allowing my cat to go outside (I no longer do and made this clear in the application). The two kittens they recommended be adopted together are still available they took 5 days to get back with us after our application, and they rejected us for no valid reason and told us to go to a shelter....reviewed your application and at this time we feel that your application does not represent the best situation for Brantley and Polson. Please understand that this is not personal - it is our goal to do our best to match the right home with the right pet, and it means everything to us that the new pet becomes a permanent part of the family we adopt them to.We want both the pet and the adopter to be happy, therefore, we do our best to make sure we make the best placement decision we possibly can the first time. Very often rescued pets come to us with special needs and/or behavioral issues that we mustaddress when re-homing them. Some examples of these needs may include but are not limited to the following: the need to be in a home with another cat/dog to play with, in a home with a younger animal, in a home with an older animal, in a home with no children, in a home where someone is home most of the day due to anxiety or other needs, or specific food needs, etc.. We reserve the right to not disclose the reason for our decision. Please consider adopting from a City or County shelter, as well, where they euthanize hundreds of pets every week. There are truly so many wonderful, adoptable pets in our shelter system. Many of our adoptable pets have been rescued from the shelter system.
This organization might be denying you because they might be trying to look at the items in your house during the home check and they might ask you about your routine and then later come back when no one is home and steal from you. Most likely there any cats at all.
