I needed help with transferring pictures from my Android to my PC. Ahmed found a way to trick my non connecting phone to retrieve the pictures. He also guided me over the phone (and remote access to my PC) and explained to me step by step what he was doing. He earned my trust and respect by his good communication, great service and honesty. I am thrilled to announce that people like the owner of this place exist on this earth. He is an honest business owner who cares about people more than getting money from them.I took my MacBook Pro to get it looked because I wanted to get rid of these weird thick lines that had started showing across the screen. The owner suggested that I should take it to the Apple store in Oak Brook because they might fix it for free whereas if I get it fixed from him it will cost me money that I could potentially save. I was pleasantly surprised by his honesty and good heart.The reviews lived up to my expectations! And he was right! I took it to the Apple store and they fixed it for free.

Service is adept, quick, and often helpful beyond immediate problems.While waiting, I saw that foot traffic is steady, but not overwhelming as is sometimes true of big name stores. Ive also used their house call Technician who resolved my phone, desktop and endless cord problem. As you can see, Im technologically challenged.The Sphinx is now my go to place for digital problems, saving much hassle and aggravation, thanks to Ahmed. Parking sometimes is little difficult, but Sphinx is definitely worth circling the block.

Please read this note before you make the same mistakes I did. Finding a reliable trustworthy technology solver like Ahmed is difficult. I went through many, many other computer repair shops searching for someone I could trust. My first experience was replacing my iPad screen. I called a few shops and unfortunately for me I chose to save $15 and did not go to Sphinx, I went to a different repair shot in Lombard on Main Street. They did indeed replace my screen and although I did save 15 dollars they damaged my bezel and after 2 weeks, I was experiencing further issues. Although the screen was new and replaced, it wasn’t reassembled with proper care and it wouldn’t charge. So, I took it back and after 3 more days of being without my device I picked it up. The bezel had been even more damaged in the process and the issue was still not resolved. In the end I spent almost $200 to repair an iPad which was unusable. Not wanting to throw away a $600device, I later took this iPad to Ahmed. He was able to repair the bezel and charging unit for less than I had previously paid to fix a broken screen. I am writing this review on that exact repaired iPad. I have since worked with Ahmed and his staff for more than 4 years now. Yes this is an old iPad, about to be obsolete, but it felt appropriate to write this review using the device Sphinx had resurrected. Since then Ahmed has replaced iPhone screens, bad hard drives, eliminated viruses, upgraded my laptop, replaced laptop screens and has recently built my son a absolutely amazing gaming computer that performs better, while costing less, than any store bought, out of the box solution. I am so please with Sphinx, that I have left my personal contact information with Ahmed and his staff. During this Covid19 pandemic, I broke my USB stick that had all of my clients files on there. I was so hurt because I had bought a new Desktop for my office and had not transferred the files to that computer yet. it was so hard finding a PC Repair shop that was open and before I came to Sphinx had been told by 3 other repair shops they would not be able to fix it, one shop said he charged $100 an hour. I found Spinx and read their reviews and took my stick to them. Ahmed was very honest in saying he might be able to fix it, but it was a hard task and didnt know for sure if he could. So I left it with him along with a new USB stick. Well 3 days later, he called me with the best news, they were able to save and retrieve my data and put it on the new stick. I was also waiting for a big bill and to my surprise they were very reasonable. I would refer them to everyone and they will definitely be my go to place for life.

Was so worried about leaving my laptop there with all of my photos and projects. The guys took good care of my baby and its now running smoothly once again. I came into this place on a saturday at 11 AM because of an update issue. I was paranoid because I am a Graduate student and had discussion posts due at 11:59PM. Ahmed could noy guarantee that he could find and fix the issue by 2PM closing time. However, he detected my angst and stress and offered to let me use a store computer for my school work. I was able to turn in my posts and get an A. I picked my computer up later with only a minimal fee! Exceptional place to go for computer work!! Great prices!

Yes, their price is good. The service is fast. BUT...you may have to return more than once to have your computer working the way you want it to. So they installed a new hard drive for about $100...and then when I turned on the computer it was still a black screen wanting me to choose operating systems. I came in and they corrected that, next thing I know, thye must not have installed the sound card or driver or whatever the thing is that makes your speakers work. So, now I will ahve to take time out of my day to go back a third time. I am sure they will be able to fix iit quickly and they are nice about it, but it really stinks they didnt just get it 100% right the first time.
