Lived in here from May 2020 to April 2021, during most of the pandemic. The apartments were a great place to live having moved states and needing a fairly priced apartment close to UALR where I worked. Office staff were very nice, the maintenance staff was also quick and pleasant, and all of my neighbors were incredible. Its only downside is its immediate neighborhood which I did consider giving it 4 stars for, but it is not the fault of the apartment itself. It is in a shadier lower income part of Little Rock as compared to West Little Rock, so keep that in mond when moving. Otherwise, a great complex with fairly priced units and great people.

The staff greeted you and had a smile on their face you when you enter the office. Their willingness to assist my son into getting the right apartment. Honestly, I really feel like they care about the well being of their tenants. The apartment that we were viewed smelled amazing and it was clean. It is a quiet and nice place to live. I will definitely refer another person to make this apartment complex their home.

I have stayed at south oaks for years. But I feel like management has went downhill. It’s like they don’t care anymore if you call about problem or concern they ignore you never tend to it. My apartment has been infested with roaches because neighbors leave trash by door. There is a gnat problem in the summer. And if you need something fix you might as well fix it yourself because they won’t. I am not renewing my lease. Do not stay there. Seems nice when you come take a look but once you sign the contract that’s it. You will see how terrible it gets. This place needs better management to get things back in order. Also the washers and dryers hardly ever work, it takes your money.

The staff there are very professional as well as they make you feel like you are part of the family. They greet you with there charm and smile that makes you feel at ease and home. I will refer another person to make this apartment complex their home. Not to mention that the community is gated, which is a plus.Keyota, who is the manager, is very personable and is very intuned with her residence. She makes sure that their needs are met, but if she cannot get the job done then and there, she will make sure that she communicates with them, giving them a time frame of when the job is complete. I can tell that not only she genuinely cares about her residents but as well as the next person that comes through the door.

This is a beautiful property and the location is great! The manager and office staff are very pleasant. All of the residents that I have encountered have been very friendly.

I inquired about an apartment recently and the office staff was very helpful. Even though they could not tour with me, they stayed on the phone with me and talked me through the unit. I appreciate all the help Keyota and Von!

The manager, Keyota, is a hands-own manager that truly cares about her residents. She picks up grounds and makes sure things are taken care of. If youre looking for a place close to everything in Little Rock, this is your place! Its also a gated community! :-)

My mom and go visit me for a while. She’s leaving this Saturday. She wanted to thank management for their great hospitality. She said she felt safe, and was very happy😀

Home away from home would is only a small way to describe my experience while being here at South Oaks Apartment. All three ladies in the office are nice, polite, and hard-working. They move time- efficiently and are always available to get in touch with. Would recommend anyone here!

I was here visiting an old friend on Friday and we went to the Community Center for Popcorn and Punch. The atmosphere was nice and inviting. The office ladies were friendly and even though I was visiting a friend they offered me popcorn and punch as well and we talked like we have know each other for years. I would definitely recommend this property to others!

I have lived here for a year and the staff is really helpful and friendly. They make sure you feel safe and provide quick service. Its close to the mall, good rent price and they pay for most of the amenities! All I pay is for electric and Internet. Im a student at UAMS and its a short 5-10 min drive.

A great place to call home. The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout rooms are open 24//7 are rarely crowded and the pool area is lovely. . I live alone here and could not feel safer anywhere else....a beautiful neighborhood.

This is a great community to live in!! The location is relatively close to shopping, restaurants, and freeway access. All of the staff is friendly and helpful, they care about their residents and the community. It shows in how well kept the grounds and common areas are. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new place to live.

Laundry room full of washers and dryers that don’t work and eat your money. Unattentive entitled staff and good luck trying to receive a package in a timely manner. They will keep trying to charge rent long after your lease is up. Just stay away from this nightmare because they absolutely don’t care about their residents.

I went in to check out an apartment, as I am starting school at UALR and have heard good things about this community. First I want to say that the service was AWESOME SAUCE. They have all kind of snacks available and it was really nice and clean. The ladies in the office were very cool to talk to, they made me feel like I was being adopted into a new family. I did not lease but only because Im waiting to get approval from my parents.

Here at South Oaks Apartments Ive had some of the best experiences with the community and the management. It is very peaceful and well oriented, they have a very well functioning clubhouse that are useful to students and for just everyday use and you can actually feel comfortable and at home here. Over the past year that I have stayed here there hasnt been any major problems with the apartment itself and if there was a problem it was fixed by the maintenance men immediately and effectively, their was a sense of comfortableness when they were around and if you didnt want to be their will the work was being done you had the option to stay or go which is very helpful if you are some one with a busy schedule.

First let me say that the staff at South Oaks is amazing. They treated me with such dignity and respect. I would recommend these apartments to anyone

I moved back to Arkansas in November. The staff at SOUTH OAKS are GREAT. They made me feel welcome. They thought enough of me to give me a birthday card. They take the time to know there residents. The staff at SOUTH oaks are very friendly. I would recommend these apartments.

I been staying in my apartment for about a year now still don’t have working stove every time I call them about it they say they going to fix it never do The ladies in the office have attitudes . They are close to my job that’s the good thing about these apartments.

I was looking for an apartment with my sister and the staff were very friendly. The office was decorated and very inviting. I just wished they had washers in the units. I will definitely recommend this place.

All these old reviews dont reflect ANY of changes that have been made recently! Management has put a lot of effort in to improve the property in the last year. The pool is new, and the full upgrade apartments are AWESOME. There are also new cameras on the property as well, and a whole bunch of other new stuff. See the place for yourself, dont just read 3 year old reviews!

I have seen a lot of things changing around here. It is cleaner and quieter and I see maintenance working all the time. On valentines day the put little goodies on our door and there is always someone in the office to talk to you. They told me they was going to be doing some more stuff to make it look nice and it makes me feel good that they working on this place to make it nice.

South Oaks has a very professional staff. They are very pleasant and have done many great things to the property. Maintenance is great and I love the new pool. Really close to UALR which is a big plus. Jodi is a great manager. The newly remodeled apartments are awesome!!!!

A very nice place to stay with wonderful and courteous staff; notably; Yvonne, Keyotta, and Andrea. Maintenance issues are handled the same day and they are always nice. One negative is that they do seem to have a problem keeping adequate coffee materials in the office. There will be lids but no cups, sugar but no creamer, cereal no milk, ham no burger.

I have been living here for over a year as a college student and have recently renewed my lease for another year, they allow financial aid as an income and this REALLY helps me because I only work part time. The ladies in the office are very nice and always go above and beyond to help. They have a new lady in the office, that I go and chat with sometimes, she makes me feel like I live with close friends. It really is a family community.

Things are handled poorly. Police is constantly being called. Maintenance is lazy. Trash and feces along the grass area of the property .Management needs improvement. Don’t recommend.

So far Ive had a pretty solid experience. The staff at South Oaks have been good and reasonable to me. In my opinion things are taken cared of when requested. Space is decent enough and so far it has served it purpose.

The apartments are exactly what I need and nothing more. The staff is what stands out the most in my opinion.After living here for a few weeks, the apartment below me caught on fire and the management team actually let us stay in the common area of the office while the firefighters worked on my building. It was rainy and cold and the office was closed for the day already.Overall I feel welcome and generally safe here. I like the location and Im not paying too much for a single room apt.

Customer service is 100% on point. Unfortunately, my husband and I decided not to lease because the biggest selling point for us is that we want to have our own washer and dryer. I 100% recommend checking out this location if you dont mind not having your own washer/dryer. Most people dont because they have a Clothing Care facility.The person that constantly kept checking on us was Andrea Okanume. So sweet and kind even though we missed our January 4th scheduled appointment. Life got a little hectic our of nowhere. I still recommend checking them out. Wonderful customer service keeps people coming back!

I recently tried to find a place, South Oak was my first choice, the staff was very friendly and professional n the location was great, the only reason I didnt sign a lease is there is no washer or dryer.

They do not repair anything in a timely manner. Your apartment burns regardless of the circumstances (non-intentional) and they put you on the street! That simple, you immediately become homeless. One time in two years late and that was by one day! Then they tell you about Red Cross. I would not let my dog live in this place. To make it worse, they tell you that you cant retrieve your things until the apartment has been cleared, although the official Fire Marshall clears the place. Are they stealing? Makes you wonder! Oh did I forget that the liability insurance paid for monthly covered all of their property. Please dont respond because the truth matters! You have the right to serve who you want, but to be inhumane is entirely different from having the right to refuse service.BSR policies encourages staff to lie and mislead tenants ...

Staff is friendly, apartments are nice for students or someone starting out for the very first time. It’s close to UALR campus, and close to places to eat and shop.

I would have given 5 stars to these apartments if management could have kept their promise. Maintenance and the office staff were very helpful during my time here. Anytime there was a problem with our apartment, there was a maintenance man out the same day or next day to fix it.But, I lived here for 2 months before I had to move out. I was able to hear the wonderful sounds of what felt like 2-3 gunshots a night when I lived here. After I got robbed in the parking lot, the manager was very nice to release me from my lease. I offered that I would move to Markham Oaks (another BSR property), but their was no availability. After I finally found a new place to live, I get a call from the manager saying that I will be charged 3x the rent amount for breaking my lease. On top of that, they were going to charge me for the damages done by the dog (roommates fault, not theirs)Edit: After speaking with their corporate office, they agreed to drop the fees for breaking my lease. However, my roommate and I are still responsible for $1,260 in fees. This was because my roommate didnt pick up after his dog & he didnt pick up the trash & his furniture was still in the apartment.

Prices are pretty good and I feel pretty safe because of the gate, despite the location. Maintenance is always done quickly and without question. Apartments are well laid out and they are always improving the place.

The move in an process before moving in with Soath Oaks was tremendously awesome! The staff is heart warming and concerning of your needs!Great olace to move into!

I’ve been a tenant at south oaks for years and I’ve never seen the place look as good as it does or issues handled as quickly as I have since Mrs. Keyota took over as Manager. She really cares about the community and makes a point to make this place feel like home. She’s constantly working to improve the environment and the changes that she’s made are definitely making a difference. I just resigned my lease and plan to stay here at least another year. There are new friendly faces in the office who don’t make coming in to handle business feel like a chore. I can take pride in my home knowing that management doesn’t just see us as numbers but as an actually community. This is a great place to call home!

Management is horrible,poor communication skills. The maintenance always leave a mess. And it’s always loud throughout the day and night. I don’t recommend my lease ends in a month and I am leaving.

If you are a student attending UALR, just live here. The rent is SO much cheaper than a dorm that youd have to share. The staff is very friendly and we have never had an issue with with anyone on the property. Its a perfect space for a college student and your dog/cat! You are always notified before an inspection and we havent had any problems with the apartment itself. Only complaint is that our fire alarm goes almost everytime we cook (when there is no smoke and nothing is burning) but I just quickly turn it off. Great starter apartment!

My apartment was very old and dirty. Since this is my first apartment I didnt really know what to look for. First thing I saw when I walked in was the size. And this was a handicapped apartment (which I didnt know I was gonna get) so yea its gonna be big. But after about a week I start realizing how DIRTY this one was. I wiped down the cabinets with disinfecting wipes and boy were those wipes disgusting! I was very grossed out. When we came for the initial walk through we were looking at a completely different apartment. They showed us a smaller apartment that seemed to be very new and clean, it was an apartment for standard living. Thats was I was expecting. But I cant complain with the size of the apartment I got. I just wish I wasnt so old and nasty.

When me and my husband got married we moved here via recommendations from our friends. At first we loved it here but then a lot of shooting in the surrounding area started happening in October 2016. They have wounderful staff, the apartments are ok, and if you are a college student or Muslim this is a great location. The only reason we are leaving is because we now have an infant and this neighborhood seems to be getting worse .

I have been a tenent for 3years, first year was cool, second year my apartment became infested with bed bugs! They treated it in timely manner OK here it is Aug 2017 my apartment is re infested with bed Bugs (seen apt across hall get treated few weeks ago) on top of that I now have mice! & they are acting as if they are in no rush to help!! Yet had no problem charging me late fees when I was involved in horrible car accident (that was not my fault) caused me to lose time at work which resulted in me being few days late with my rent! $100 extra, then I find I have bed bugs! Now I have to dish out more money for room so I can sleep without being bit! I am so dissatisfied with this situation! & praying I can find away to relocate asap!

I have posted this review three years ago, I had to make changes to it. have worked here Years ago as security its not a safe place to live, its a ghetto. To many ignorant people hanging around at night. Never want to listen to security once its curfew time. Management have to be much more strick with people who play there music, mainly those who sit in there cars disturbing others with there music. A week before I worked there,a woman was assaulted. My brother is a professor at ULAR. Both my brother and mother have warned me to not work here. One of my brothers students have gotten shot in these apartments two years ago. Its a horrible place for anyone to work as security. It look even worse if you live here as a, apartment tenant. Im posting because I fear for the safety of the residents who lives here. And management have to be much more stricker with those who hang round the parking areas listening to loud music at all times of the day and night. Also a message to management, you guys need a security office with a bathroom and kitchen for your Security guards. You put the guards in a very bad and uncomfortable environment to work. No bathroom other than the clubhouse. And no shelter to get under once it rained or get cold just standing outside isnt a good thing for a security guard with no shelter. So, youre not going to have guards who want to stay once they see what kind of environment there working in. Would you want to work in that type of environment yourself which is very uncomfortable and people wont let you perform your job duties???(New review and response back to management 07/09/2019)You may have spent one million dollars for repairs, but its not the condition of the apartments its the people themselves you just cannot fix an ghetto attitude and ignorance. And a quiet time just isnt going to tame there ignorance.
