This company did an amazing job servicing my unit. The office staff is extremely polite and helpful, as well as their technicians. I definitely will continue to use Northwind in the future and will be recommending this company to my friends and family.
Stay far away from this company. Run, dont walk! Complete run around for weeks. 80 year old endured weeks of 100+ heat while they gave nonsensensical excuses. Weeks into waiting and calls not answered now being told they need to come out again to see whats needed. Its a joke and risking health of an elderly person. Now contacting another company. They forgot to order one of the parts that was needed to fix our AC which has been out since June 22. We have been through 2 major heat waves and we still have no AC. The tech yesterday told us he would get us up and running, left and literally never came back. No phone call. No anything. Since they arent open on weekends we are stuck waiting until Monday to hopefully try to get through to someone, if she actually answers. This has been the worst experience with an AC company in my 18 years living here in the Central Valley. We paid $960 for them to literally not fix our unit and this is completely unacceptable.
This company is AMAZING!! They were professional, on time, and extremely qualified. Northwind provided me with quality work and I will not use anyone else when it comes to my AC/Heating needs. I called Northwind to have my units serviced and ready for summer and they were able to schedule me in right away. I also used them to replace the unit at my rental home. Their pricing was reasonable and the job was done right! They were very professional and prompt. I would highly recommend them to family and friends.
This company was sent to us by American home shield service . They came out and went under the house and said the duct work needed to be replaced because rats had eaten holes in the duct work and it was collapsed because of age.so I would call and leave a message for them to please call me and I never got a callback. So on June 14 I got a hold of American home shield and they said that they had given them approval to do the work on that date. So I tried calling them again to find ouT when they were going to come out and do my tech work. They didn’t answer left a message again they never called back. I am a 79 year old women living in a house that is 90 degrees. So today 6/29/2021 my daughter in law called and talked to Caesar and wanted to know what was happening on my duct work. He told her that he had to come back out to take pictures so he could send them in to ahs for approval. Now they had already been given approval on 6/24. So she asked when he would be out to take pictures. He told her it would be next week. I called ahs and told them what Caesar had said. Ahs confirmed with them that they could not get out until next week.so after being on hold for approximately 15 minutes ahs told me that I could find my own contractor and they would cash me out. It is going to take 24 to 48 hours for them to get back to me. So here I sit with no ac and since my duct work is under my house it will probably be anotherv2 weeks before I have air. Please if ahs recommends these people tell them you want some one else. These people are a joke and not professional at all. If you are paying them cash and not going thru a insurance co they may be ok but in my case I would give them a minus 10

I have had them come for service twice and I have been very pleased each time and the work has been great. The tech I had, Caesar, was kind, excellent and very informative each time. The first time I had no heat and I ran it through my home warranty. Got several companies telling me there was nothing they could do. As a last call out, he was sent out and fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. He even gave me his card to call him the next day and let him know how the unit was doing and/or if he needed to come back by again. I was impressed. So I recently called him again for an AC issue. He did great again! I cannot recommend this company enough. He is very honest, upfront and help you get the best job done for your money! I will definitely be recommending this company to my friends and family.

If I could give a zero, I would. AHS should break their contract with this company. The warranty company sent them as they are the contracted company. Service tech #1, comes, doesnt really check the whole unit. Tells me it is 3 pounds low on freon. I asked for a few minutes to talk to my husband since it was going to cost an additional $240 (after the $75 service fee). He LEFT! No knock or doorbell. I call the lady in the office, she says he claimed he knocked, but my dogs are great indicators that someone is at the door, besides the fact that I was looking at the front door while on the phone. She sends a second guy who checks the actual unit since we asked why it was that low on freon. Says there wasnt any leaks but no sure what caused it to run out. Fills it, put a stop leak product in. 4, yes four days later our a/c stops working again. Place another service call and happily they send yet another service tech out. He goes in the attic and says there is a massive leak and he will submit to the office for authorization to American Home Shield. Over a week later, still waiting for a call from Northwind HEating and A/C. When you call, you get a full mailbox message which has now turned to a complete busy signal. Have called AHS every other day to get a different company and get the run around there too. So frustrating. California valley heat is no joke, adding littles and distance learning and I am so over it. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY
Beyond happy with this company! My AC stopped working and Cesar came out right away and diagnosed the problem. By far the most reasonable price and best quality. I am so grateful for their quick service and great professionalism. I will most definitely be using them again and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of AC or heating services.
Our air went out almost a month ago. Tried calling them because they are the ones that our insurance referred us to. Called and called and couldn’t get through, finally got through and left a message. Four days later called again because we hadn’t heard from them and again it took about 15-20 calls to finally get through and then we were put on hold for a good 20 minutes. They came out an hour passed the latest time they gave us, took a look and said they needed to order a part for it. About a week later we called about it because we hadn’t heard from them. They scheduled a time to come and put the part in and when they did they did something with the Freon line and needed to schedule a time to come back to fix that because they didn’t have the tools. Scheduled to come out between 8-10 yesterday and 11 rolls around so we called. The lady said they got held up on a job that morning so they weren’t going to be able to make it to us that day... at 11 they couldn’t make it to us by 5 because they got caught up on a job.... makes sense. So she scheduled us for today between 8-10. You would think since they completely skipped us the day before they would have made us their first stop. Finally at 9:45 they sent a text that they were on their way. So almost a month later they finally got us fixed. I would NOT recommend this company, they are very unprofessional.

Was referred to Northwind by a coworker after getting multiple quotes from various companies for a new split A/C and heater. Cesar came out as soon as he could and agreed/confirmed what other companies had said, with the exception of he got in the attic to assess the duct work, which we ended up replacing as well. He was very knowledgeable and answered all questions truthfully and objectively. The company is NOT attached to any brand will install whatever unit you want (Northwind was the only company to do so out of the 5 I got quotes from). Cesar was very professional and had excellent communication throughout the process. I highly recommend Northwind Heating and Air.

This is Absolutely an Awesome Company! Wonderful response to calls and customer service, you just don’t see this often anymore. The owner says what he’ll do and he does what he says! I bought and they installed 2 air conditioners all within 48 hours of my first call. All the workers were professional and friendly. I very highly recommend this company for any heating and cooling needs, and I don’t say that lightly!

AC went out on a Friday night. Another company was called and they said they could not be out until next Thursday. Really? Northwind was called and Cesar was at the house in 20 minutes.. Said he was nearby and since that was the case would come by and look. Got us patched up to try and get through the weekend but the blower motor was bad. He came back out Monday and replaced the motor and it is working great. 30 year old unit and he found a motor for it. Amazing. Thank you Cesar.Highly recommend this company. You owe it to yourself to at least call and get an estimate.

Fast and reliable! My moms AC broke down over the weekend and they were able to make it out that same day! The tech was very polite and explained everything he did in a way we could actually understand. We will continue to use them and will make sure to let all of our friends and family know.
Because the last company through home insurance that came to work on the heating problem a few weeks ago did not fix the heater right (started blowing cold air again), I called Northwind based on the reviews. Cesar did not disappoint: theyre did a thorough diagnosis, testing parts, and isolated the problem. Cedar clearly explained the issue to me so I can reopen the ticket with the other company and have them change out the malfunctioning inducer motor. I highly recommend Northwind Air for their professional work and wish my home insurance worked with them.
Caesar and his crew did a great job on our A/C replacement. He showed up when he said he would and got the job done on time. Highly recommend Northwind heating and air for your A/C and heating needs.
We were referred to them by AHS. They came out said it needed a motor and would order it and install. Came back out with motor and said it needed a fan. Cant install the motor without the fan. To make a long story short, they never came back out. Seems like they are hired by AHS and all they do is order the parts and never come back out. I called their office about 50 times and spoke to Crystal. Same story as the others below me whom used them through AHS. AHS is also terrible. I would not recommend them!
I was referred through AHS. By far, the best experience I have had. They got me in early, with the technician showing up @ 7pm to fix the problem. The technician made himself available the next day. They even called the next day to check on the system. They were honest and very informative. I cant reccomend this company enough.
I write to express my discontent with the unethical conduct of Northwind Air Conditioning & Heating. I was referred to Northwind through American Home Shield for an AC that was not producing adequate cool air. Northwind conducted a diagnostic test and disabled the unit altogether claiming that running it without freon (which was leaking) would damage the compressor. Furthermore, the service person from Northwind exited the attic from the AC ventilation leaving the ductwork unconnected. To put things in perspective, the temperature was in the hundreds and Northwind claimed that it was going to prioritize the workorder. Thereafter, I was told by Northwind that I needed to follow up with American Home Shield because the wait time was too long for their representatives to get approval. Northwind lacked the professional courtesy for returning, and if not fixing, at the very least undoing their unfinished work. This overlapped with the 4th of July weekend where other businesses were closed and I had to endure the stress of finding an alternative solution to simply undue their work. Thus far I have received two alternative reports and both state that Northwind did not have to disable and leave the unit unconnected. The reports also claimed that the ductwork was damaged when the service person exited the attic through the AC ventilation. I also learned that Northwind had shut the valve for the heater leaving me to need additional service in the winter. I found their conduct unprofessional and irresponsible.
We just purchased our a/c unit from Northwind heating and air and we are very happy with our unit we love the look of it and it works great! Terrific experience with this company. They were onsite the very next day with the parts they needed, I live in a small remote area and other companies had to come out, take a look, and then leave to go get parts, only to install them and then leave again, weeks had gone by until I called Northwind. The owner of the company showed up, with everything he needed the first time. Fixed the problem and then spent time fine tuning the system to get the most amount of longevity from my hvac unit. We had our heating/AC unit replaced plus all new ductwork and vents moved from bottom to top of the house. We are very pleased with our decision to have Northwind do the job. The crew was very professional and the work was done efficiently and thoroughly. Pricing I would say is mid range but the work quality we received made it worth it. They will definitely be my first choice for any hvac needs I have going forward.

Our heater had a gas leak. The unit was over 30 years old. Had it shut off completely. This was the day before thanksgiving. We dialed Northwind by mistake. But he came out and gave us a quote anyway. Of all the quotes we received I kept leaning towards Northwind. He was patient, answered all my questions. Would never think of calling Lindsay for a quote with all the HVAC companies in Visalia. It was meant to be. We are very happy. Everything came together quickly at a reasonable price. Best mistake we ever made!!!

My A/C was not cooling off very well so I called a different company to fix it. Not only did it not get fixed but the unit shut off completely in 105 degree weather. I was referred to Northwind Heating & Cooling who ended up taking my call at 7 p.m. and showing up to check out the problem. He ended fixing the problems in less time than it took the other company to short it out! I am so pleased with how accommodating he was and how quickly he assessed and fixed the problem! I 100% recommend this company!!!
Shortly after my home insurance company submitted my request to have Northwind fix my AC unit, I called Northwind an Ceasar answered right away. He said he would be at my home in 1-2 hours or sooner and he came in less than 45min! This is by FAR the best service Ive received! When he arrived, he was very honest, respectful and quickly took time to educate me on the standard of maintenance the unit requires.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I will NOT be going to anyone else
We were assigned Northwind Heating and Air by American Home Shield. I wish that they had been sent from the beginning. We were initially sent another contractor who supposedly didnt find anything wrong with my moms AC unit. The other contractor came out 3 times and told us that the AC unit was fine and was working properly yet the house was still hot with the outside temperatures hitting the triple digits(this was back in August). Northwind Heating and Air was finally sent out by AHS. As soon they arrived they found the issue. He was able to get the unit running and cooling the house down in about 30 minutes. When the other company came out 3 times and could not figure it out. Five stars definitely earned. Really glad with their service.
In the modern age, sometimes it’s easy to feel that customer service has gone the way of the dodo... extinct. However, Northwind Heating and Air is the exception to this rule. Having contracted other HVAC companies I’ve had my fair share of experiences both good and bad, but I can without a doubt say that i will no longer be dealing with anybody else when it comes to my air conditioning and heating needs. Cesar’s level of commitment to educating me about the services that he would be performing and his patience with me when I had any questions was truly appreciated. I am so happy with my experience with this company and I would undoubtedly recommend him to anybody I know. If you want honest communication and excellent customer service you can’t go wrong with Northwind Heating & Air.
Such an amazing company. I had 3 other companies come out prior to NORTHWIND and all three misdiagnosed and over charged me. AND always set my appointment for a week out when it was triple digit weather. The first time I called them, Cesar came out that afternoon told me exactly what was wrong with it, gave me a great price and fixed it. My a/c has never worked better. They are truly a 5 star company. Don’t hesitate and make the mistake I did, call this company first, they are top of the line.
