I had been recommended by dealer to take my car elsewhere for work due to cost and Great American Tire is my go to. My light wasn’t on so they had me stop by when it came on to better estimate and plan for repairs. They had it back right away and did a great job!

I woke up to a flat tire and was able to fill it enough to get to GAT. They fit me in and were able to fix the tire and perform some needed maintenance work. Ive been going there for years and even after moving to a neighboring state, Ive always made the trip to have my car repaired. I was very happy to discover they just opened up a store in Kenosha where I now live!

DO NOT go here! Went in for a door handle replacement, and left with no power lock on drivers door. The 2 parts are unrelated to each other and when asked, the owner lied to my face. A dealer confirmed that they lied to me and that they cut into my wire harness for no reason. They think we’re all stupid. Lied to my face!!

Had an issue with my catylay converter and they were very honest and suggested I probably had a mfg warranty that would cover which it in fact did and saved me $$$!! Will definitely recommend!!

Polite and friendly customer service. I asked for a tire rotation and wheel balancing and thats exactly what I got. I appreciated that they left me some recommendations on the work invoice regarding tear on wiper, etc., but didnt push anything onto me for additional work or purchases. I believe they do honest, good work, and turnaround time was very quick as well. 5 out of 5 stars.

So i drop my son truck and he is firefighter was working after replacing brake line there were 2 line need to be cross and bleed the brake tolal was 236.35 after coupon $20 off ok, We got overcharge big time because the mechanic took his sweet time after took it home it was big leak under the truck, the tech did not tie the line hard enough, call back the shop was closed .so i have to take it somewhere else on monday, i ask around other shop in the area they said they would charge me one hour of service top which is $90 for the same service, never again will use this place

This is a good shop. I have used it several times and they do a good job.Everyone but a saint is an a*hole sometimes. Today was my turn. I am not especially proud of myself. I probably got the receptionist/ cashier at Great American Tire, in a little hot water and for that I apologize. I should know how things are when things get busy. Time frames are elastic and somehow five or ten minutes can stretch into an hour, especially when you get a phone call or something happens or there is an emergency. One event is at the mercy of a second event which may be at the mercy of yet another. In the winter when cold and snow and ice may with natural indifference make a salad of our lives, we must remember that. Patience is a virtue. Be gentle with those you deal with. You don’t know what kind of day they may be having.

So this shop offers free estimates, I take my vehicle in with a obvious timing chain noise to get an estimate to see how much it would cost to fix.Dropped off Friday morning, 4 days later I had to call them because nobody called me. Only to get pure attitude, and sarcasm! They did repairs without my consent, and now want to bill me for them and harassing me for 150.00 when all I wanted was a Estimate! Highly do not recommend going there.

They are always pleasant and explain everything in great detail. I have NEVER felt like I was getting a bad deal. They have also done some mechanical repairs on my vehicles, but mostly tires.

FINALLY, a shop I can trust. I absolutely love this place. Their prices are always competitive, I get in when I need to, they are kind, knowledgeable and arent going to do things to my car that arent necessary. Great owner and very down to earth staff. I have been going to this shop for over 5 years.I was getting robbed by the big dealership auto departments constantly and receiving poor service all the time.Tim the manager is a phenomenal guy. His staff is upfront and honest. They charge a very fair price for services. They have strong communication with the customer. For tires, I wouldnt go anywhere else. This year had new tires put on my Civic. There was a very unusual noise that seemed like a defective tire to me. Jeremy was awesome at troubleshooting the problem and getting two replacement tires for me. Problem solved and no additional charge. Great service.

My car was making a noise when I turned left . Took it in to have it check expecting something, and hoping it wasnt serious. They heard the noise on the test drive, but didnt see anything when they checked everything over. So they tightened everything and after another test drive, the car was quiet. I appreciate this businesss honesty and not making something out of it. We have used our Great American Tire for years and for many cars and have never been disappointed. Thank you!

My son and his girlfriend called ahead of time about a tire losing air and were told that you would put on the spare for free. They took the car to exchange the tires and were asked if they wanted to know if the tire was fixable so they said yes. An employee came out to tell them that the tire was almost done getting fixed. They did not say they wanted it fixed. It was going to be fixed for free somewhere else. These are teenagers and they got taken advantage of by you. Is that how you do business? I know I won’t bring my business to you and let everyone I know about what happened. You should refund the money! I tried calling but no one answered the phone!

I found this place bc it was the lowest price for mounting and balancing around. Nice guys. I like the fact that it looks like they care about their work space and were clean looking getting in and out of my new (to me) suv. Only one guy looked under 30 which makes me think the rest have worked there for awhile. I was there an hour or two getting tires mounted and balanced. I wasnt in a rush. The waiting area was nice, clean and comfortable. There was coffee available. I liked how they treated customers on the phone and in person. They were patient and educating. I grew up in a family where we fix our own cars but i think if theres something im not looking forward to doing im glad i found this place bc im pretty picky about who works on my vehicles.

Great experience. Blew an expensive 22 tire on I-94 in the middle of the night. They were able to find the tire (Ford dealership couldnt...) and get it done on Saturday (still expensive, but thats what you get with 22 tires... my problem). Took me out to show me why it happened and relayed their disappointed in the lack of communication on the dire state of my tires when I was told I didnt need an alignment and NTB in Minneapolis. Theyre in bad shape. Loved the great service from father and son and enjoyed the time I spent waiting for the 4 tire mount and balance. Highly encouraged!

I went to the Gurnee store for over 15 years. The last time they fixed my vehicle, when I drove it out of the shop it wouldnt go more than 15-20 miles an hour. The only problem I had when I brought it in was that it wouldnt start. I ended up getting rid of the vehicle. Months later I found out the Gurnee location is closed. Good riddance.

Excellent service. 4 tires in just over an hour. After driving around all day, I realized I should asked for a wheel alignment. I am a little surprised it wasnt suggested or automatically checked.

My parents have been going here for years and told me to do the same, but the first time I went, I was charged upwards of $80 for an oil change. That amount right there was a little ridiculous, but then I came back today in hopes of getting a deal better than what the dealership offered, but ended up pay $18 more (they said it would be $70). It was really upsetting to see that I had to pay $15 for my headlight to be changed when the only reason I didn’t do it myself was because I didn’t want to break it. Every time I’ve come in, I feel like I’ve been ripped off in some way.

Staff was very friendly and super helpful. I brought my car in for an alignment, and they let me know it didnt need one. In and out, quick and painless.

My car failed to start on a Sunday. I had it towed to Great American Tire the next morning, even though the tow truck driver was able to get it started. They kept it for an entire week because I was on vacation. They were unable to re-create the problem, which means it started (good news!), but kept trying and never charged me. They always go above and beyond to service their customers!

I recently had a great experience at Great American Tire, I have an old Honda Accord, And I mean really old, 1999. I took the car in for regular maintenance and asked because it is an old car that a general check out and safety check, and it was a good thing I did, the harsh winter and pot holes had knocked the front end alignment out. I had noticed a few weeks before that it was pulling to the left when i braked, but I forgot to mention it. They FOUND it, fixed IT and charged a fair amount for it. 15 years old and drives straight and true. This LOCAL business shows what great customer service is all about. If you live any where close to Lindenhurst, Il and need a good auto shop this is a great one!

When I showed up to get my flat checked, I could tell they were busy. However, they checked my tire right away and in about 30 minutes, I was out of there. Now, I did have the tire off the car already but still, to make room in there schedule to check it right away tells me they are committed to customer service.
