Around second grade they started tutoring our daughter and have been ever since. About two years ago we moved to their online platform because we were moving out of state as well as started homeschooling. We wanted to keep her same tutors. They are her primary math education and Jonah has gotten to know our daughter so well and is wonderful in keeping her moving forward. They keep it fun with incentives and even sometimes games. They’ve also been wonderfully flexible with our ever-changing schedule as we’ve moved and setting up our new lives in Texas! Thank you !
The staff here is great; always available to help and coach my son. They really tailor the program to his exact needs and communicate with his school to make sure everything is on target. My son asks me to take him here on days we dont have sessions because he see how successful this program has helped him to become.
It has been a complete turn around for our daughter since she started at Mathnasium a year ago. At the time we started, she was really struggling in her 4th grade math class. She came home crying one day last November, asking for a tutor, because of another failed math test. In her words I used to like math, but I now I am so bad at it. She had had tutors before, but we decided to look into tutoring centers because we wanted her to have more than homework help, we wanted a more structured program. We ended up choosing Mathnasium over the other tutoring centers because 1. They didnt assign extra practice work to do outside of the tutoring - we get enough homework believe me, and we knew that some centers expect outside practice. 2. The way that Mathnasium breaks down the skills and their focus on sequentially teaching math skills (not jumping over things, teaching for mastery) 3. Willingness to work with the school 4. The kindness of the owner and tutors, I immediately felt that they had my kids best interest in mind. Now fast forward a year, and my daughter is a completely different kid. She is no longer struggling, and is very comfortable doing 5th grade work. Where last year she was getting Cs and Ds, we were shocked to see that she was getting an A on her first quarter report card. In addition, her NWEA MAP score went up 30 points since she started here, which is amazing since I know that Mathnasium works hard on filling skill gaps as well as problem solving - the focus is not the test scores but it has certainly helped there as well. What is even more invaluable to us though, is to see her confidence grow. To us, grades and test scores are not as important as how she feels about herself. She no longer sees herself as stupid or behind and we see her attitude about math and school in general changing. We plan on staying here long term even though she is now doing so much better and is picking up concepts at school better. Mathnasium was the safety net she needed last year, and now we see it as an ongoing support for her to continue to grow in her math skills and to help keep her afloat if she starts to falter. I am in Mathnasiums gratitude forever for all that they have given not only to our daughter, but to our family. We love it so much, we put her little brother in it as well. Well worth the money.
Good job.
