My husband walked in for a haircut and they turned him away. The girl informed him that they did not take walk-ins, that they were appointment only. Her name was Aaliyah (spelling?). She was extremely rude to him and there was a comment made about no reputable salon accepts walk-ins. He was treated like a second class citizen for simply walking into a salon for a haircut. How does a salon look down on someone for this? My grandfather was a barber for 65 years and this is infuriating. Famous Hair is an economic, low-cost, dubious chain salon just the same as Cost Cutters, Great Clips or Sports Clips - there is no need for them to act like they are some Hollywood studio with an uppity attitude and stylists that have talent beyond all others. To top it all off, there is nothing advertised on their website or in their store advertising that they are appointment only. How is the general public supposed to discern this information? We dont have crystal balls. He will not ever be returning.

I called hoping to see if they welcomed walk in customers and was talked to by a very rude girl who stated no reputable salon ever took walk ins. Needless to say I got my haircut at Great Clips as a walk in and they did a wonderful job. Never again Famous Hair

My stylist was Mandeep. I couldnt have asked for anyone better, she went above and beyond to ensure comfort, quality, and made sure I was indeed satisfied before leaving the salon.I am forever grateful, and will always request her for now on!I feel like a whole new person!

Went in for foils, eyebrow wax & trim.Mandeep is fabulous! Her personality is inviting, her technique skillful, and the guidance she provides about all my haircare needs is exceptional. My hair looks & feels gorgeous & my eyebrows are perfect!I highly recommend this extraordinary young woman!

They are very clean and professional. Only thing is that I was not aware of was the extra $10.00 fee for women whos hair is longer than your shoulders. My hair looks great and they were awesome! But that fee I was not expecting and is not advertised.

We had a great time talking with the staff here today. They also did a wonderful job on my hair, my fiancé’s hair and my daughters hair. Everyone who works there is so nice and professional. I paid for a hair cut only and while I was waiting on my fiancé she styled my hair for free without me asking! I love this place and we will be back.

Carlton always cuts my hair, and he does an awesome job. I took my mom who has dementia for a cut, and Carlton took her gently by the hand and led her to get a shampoo and then over to the chair for her cut. He spoke to her in a very calming way so she would not be anxious, but he was not patronizing. She walked out of there with a smile on her face and looking great! I’ll never forget it. I had breast cancer last year and lost all my hair to chemo. Since that time he’s kept me in a super cute short cut I just love! Thanks for being terrific, Carlton!!!

Don’t, just don’t. My regular barber at another shop was booked, so I gave “Famous Hair” a try. Worst haircut I have ever had. After paying my $18.95, I had to go to another shop and pay $15 to have it fixed. I heard there is one good stylist there, but I certainly didn’t get her. There are lots of great shops in Lexington- go somewhere else.

ManDeep at Famous Hair is my stylist. She does exactly what I want. She always explains what she will do and what is needed including the costs. Have also brought in my husband and grandson to her. They both love her too! And that is a big thing especially for my husband.

This establishment looks tired and dated and in need of a refresh, but the stylist there are wonderful! I went and got all my hair chopped off yesterday and I must admit it was very liberating. Theyre professional / knowledgeable and affordable, I will be returning and I most definitely recommend this salon.

Ive never done a review before but I felt like I needed to for this. Went here to get a cut for the 2nd time. First time I had Carlton and he did a great job. However, he wasnt in that day so I rolled the dice by letting someone else cut my hair. What a mistake.She was cold from the start, I have never felt so uncomfortable getting a haircut before. I told her I wanted the same style, just a trim. Ive always had sideburns and she takes them completely off and makes then uneven . She cut my bangs and didnt even comb them out. The haircut took less than 5 minutes which speaks to the quality and effort she put in.Probably would of been better off sticking my head in a blender.I would only come here to get your haircut if you are bald.Or just make sure to get Carlton.

I went on for a new look and came out looking awesome! I have gone several times to have my hair trimmed, cut or colored. This time I went for a perm. Mandeep is the best! It was a long process but we talked and laughed the whole time! She makes you feel at ease and informs you of everything she is doing, so for anyone who wants an amazingly hairdresser and a great look, go to Famous Hair.....ask for Mandeep!!!

Ive been going here since I was younger and Ive always been satisfied with the results. Ive had multiple hair stylists and theyve all been really good to me and know exactly what I want. Theyre quick, accurate, friendly, flexible availability, reliable, and their store is organized and clean. Highly recommended!

I see why this place wasnt busy on a Saturday when others were packed with a wait. The haircut is below average the the lady wont do a beard line up or trim at all. Waste of time and I wont come here again.

Ive been here twice but knew after my first visit Id found a new place to have my hair cut. The staff is very friendly and Mandeep does a great job!

Although she took care with my haircut, I left with half as much hair as I had asked her leave! Its hard to find stylists who know how to bring the best from naturally curly hair--but when they cut it all off, there isnt any way to fix it since it will never be straight again. So five for effort, but one for result.
