Recently went in to set up an appointment to get my car fixed, Reese was awesome and super helpful. We went in knowing that we wouldn’t get an appointment right away with how busy they are. Reese fit us in as early as possible and was great explaining everything to us, from the car rental to every other step needed from us. Can’t wait to see the work they’re able to do.
Front office staff are lovely to work with. Had some bumps in the road on the way to getting where I thought we should be in terms of a finished, returned product, but I have to say the staff reached out to me to make it all right and I appreciate that. They truly care about making sure you are satisfied.
Went to Gerber on 378 in Lexington near I-20on Friday 8/20 and was told they were busy and an appointment was made for Tuesday 8/24. I arrived early and the person working the front desk, Reese, was extremely rude and acted too busy to deal with me. When he finally addressed me, he asked how the damage was being paid. I replied by insurance. He went on to say I had to contact the insurance company and wouldn’t give the estimate. However, the issue was that this question could have been asked on Friday. It was a waste of time. This may have not been others’ experience with Gerber, but it was a terrible one for me. Caliber Greystone gave an estimate same day, no issues. Much better service.
This was not a very good experience- actually it absolutely unproductive in every way. The store still carries John Harriss signs and staffs, which (hopefully) explains it. The broke my key FOB, refused to do any actual repairs and embarrassed me mightily in front my insurance adjusters- whom should never have even had to get involved. They say never make business personal, so I guess that explains why Gerber had the fortunate opportunity to buy them out- Good luck, regardless.EDIT: Since submitting this review, the shop manager has repeatedly called, threatened, harassed and coerced my personal phone and personal life. Absolutely unprofessional on every way: -1 star

John Harris repaired my Ford Expedition after I hit a deer. The car is only 1 month old and the repairs were extensive yet you cannot tell it was ever damaged. Amazing customer service and very professional.
Everyone was courteous and helpful. They kept me up to date with what was going on and answered any questions. The work that was done I was very happy with. I have been to this shop before and if I ever need any body work will go back to them.A very satisfied customer.

I find it rather sad that this company would terminate top notch employees due to lack of work and then hire new employees in the same breath.My husband dedicated SO much to this company, only to be slapped in the face and let go; especially at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.He was the first one to show up in the morning and quite often was the last one to leave because he wanted to make sure that the customers’ vehicles were up to IMMACULATE condition. He took pride in his work and it absolutely DEVASTATED him that the job he absolutely loved was ripped away from him, without any explanation.Goes to show that you can work yourself to exhaustion, fully dedicate yourself to your position and it’s still not up to this company’s standards.Instead of terminating hardworking employees, I recommend this company focus on terminating the employees who truly could care less about working and would just sit on their phones.
Had them repair my vehicle twice and they did an EXCELLENT job each time (Sunset Blvd location). Work was done fast, and communication was great. Getting a rental was easy. Enterprise picked me up right from the body shop.

Took my car in for repairs after a collision. I was in the process of getting the at party’s insurance to claim liability for the collision, when they called to tell me my car was ready they stated I had to pay the $500 deductible I asked if they would call my insurance company to verify. Jesse states that it would have to wait till the next day because the insurance company closes at 4pm. Witch is a lie because Usaa doesn’t close untill 9pm EST.The repairs we not to my satisfaction and I wouldn’t accept the car, the rude front desk girl stated she would have to call the insurance company the next day. Again because they were closed. The next day Gail called me with an attitude saying she did not see anything wrong and they would not repair the damages item. When I politely asked her not to get an attitude with me because I was being polite she stated she did not have an attitude. I sent my husband to pick the car up because and he stated that she apologized for “making me mad” I have never seen such poor customer service. Will it go back!

I just wanted to send a note stating what a pleasant experience I had in working with your professional team at the Lexington location.I had scheduled some work to be done on my truck and was able to drop it off overnight using a key drop-box which is invaluable because of the crazy hours I work. The work was to be completed the following day and a complete estimate was provided including labor. When I arrived the next day to pick up my truck I was immediately informed that the repairs were not complete- not what I needed to hear on a freezing snowy day with work waiting on me across town. But I am in the service industry and understand that “things” happen.The team at John Harris went over and beyond my expectations to have my truck ready for me within the hour and even attempted to offer a rental at no charge for my inconvenience.This type of professional customer care is rare in today’s disposable- instant gratification market place where pennies on the dollar can make or break a local repair shop.I am sending this note to say “thank you” for that service. Not a true body shop. They DO NOT remove panels to repair or paint most of the time. Body work is ok. If you just need your vehicle repaired quick to sell it or trade,here ya go! If you care about how nice your cars finish is,not the place for you. Wifes car the clear coat started to peal and fade where it was blended. They did offer to repair it for free and were very eager to fix it. Given the car is a nice vehicle and my wifes pride and joy,we took it to a professional body shop instead.
As others have stated, poor customer service at the front desk. When you call and ask questions they act like you are burdening them. We ended up leaving after the lady at front desk was even rude in person and when we decided to leave she agreed that we should probably go somewhere else.
I had my passenger side front fender replaced and it looks just like it did before the vehicle was hit. I am pleased with the results. Dropping off and picking up the car were very easy and not time consuming.
The body work looks as good as new.
The quality of the work on my van is amazing. John Harris called often and texted updates about the work being done and I was able to get my van a few day earlier than expected!

Best location and service provide at John Harris Body Shop on Sunset Blvd. The entire staff from the Mgr., Nick Stowe to the Administrative staff and of course the Technicians in the shop are 5 stars. We have taken several of our vehicles their in the past and had great outcomes. With the new leadership the shop is working miracles! They even have refreshments while you wait. I have referred a friend of mine and they their vehicle to JH Body Shop on Sunset Blvd. and were simply amazed. Their vehicle they had been told by another professional that basically the car wasnt worth fixing. That they should just buy a new car. Not the case! Car was salvageable and worth repair and JH performed their magic and was very affordable. Happy to make future referrals!
They called me in 3 times to pick my car up, and each time there were noticeable flaws in the workmanship which required further body work. When I finally came to pick my vehicle up (7 days after the scheduled completion date) I had to wait for an hour because they failed to wire the passenger window switch correctly and it would not function. Car was full of shop dust and strong paint smell upon pick up. I cannot recommend AGAINST John Harris enough.
I had the choice of John Harris and another company. I chose John Harris because I had heard good things, but that was not my case. My door got fixed and the man was very nice both drop off and pick up. But my door was not complete fixed; my window makes a weird nosie when rolling down and up and i can still hear wind coming in the door. Ive called three times and left a message and no call back, called today and finally got an answer and the lady was VERY rude. I tried to explain what was going on with my car and all she said was whats your last name in the middle of me talking. Very displeased. Hope that lady has a better day.
While their work is excellent, they are slow. They are good with dealing with insurance companies to get payment. Everyone is very friendly.

I had some work done couple years ago thought the work was up to par. price was high but if you want quality ( you are going to pay for it ) and i was ok with that.the reason for three stars when i came back this year to get some other work done the person was a bit rude acting like she did not care for my business tryed to push me to come back in three days later just for the estimate, any i end up going some where else were they appreciate it my business.
I work for Mid-State Roofing and were all about service and this company does business just like us they take care of all the customers properly ineffectively and the work is done leaving no details undone
Took time of work to attend my scheduled estimate only to find out that they don’t right estimates for the insurance company that I was using. That would have been nice to know before I took time off work and them waste my time.
John Harris Body Shop stands behind their work. Nick Stowe, the manager at the Sunset Blvd location took the time to make sure I was completely satisfied with the repairs on my vehicle. I had some minor issues with the paint job, and he quickly took care of the issues. Very professional service.
Stopped in for an estimate on some minor hit and run damage. Was told they didnt have time to give me an estimate right then and there. Told me I would have to make an appointment to get one. Two other very reputable body shops were able to give me an estimate on the spot, even if I didnt have to wait a few minutes.
Rude people work at the front desk. They provide really bad customer service. I saw a recent review on this shop. They are all accurate. Especially The comments about the really bad customer service and the way they talk to people. I don’t recommend this shop to family, friends or anyone else.
BEWARE! Especially USAA members! John Harris Body Shop had our car for 3 months. Still not repaired, and damaged worse than when they started on it. According to referencing my logs the manager lied about repairs and tried to return the car six times, full knowing, and without care that it was not repaired, and made worse. Enough! Incompetent! Avoid At All Cost! USAA District Manager has now Totaled the 2017 car because of JHBS inflicted damages. We lost thousands of dollars in the process.
Hade a bumper cover repaired and it took 2 weeks to fix it, when I went to pick it up the car bumper had two chips in it. The manager said if we were under a insurance we would not fix it. So you are telling everyone out there you are doing subpar work. The chips were front/center of bumper and obvious. Take your car there own your risk. You have been warned.
First they are super unorganized. I called to make an appointment to drop off my car and they told me August 1st, I go August first and they say I was scheduled for September 1st. Then when its time to pick up my car, the there are car parts in my car where they didnt finish putting the car back together. And they took off my bottom shield, and unwired my left head light and claim they cant put it back because it was a total loss and insurance wont pay for it. I didnt bring my car there to get it back in a worse condition! My car was functional when I dropped it off, why am I picking it up less functional?!Id give them zero stars if I could. Even if some of the staff is friendly, thier work is terrible.

I submitted an online request for an estimate twice and never got a response. When I called this location to follow-up, the person who answered the phone was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Please dont advertise an estimate service online (and promise a response within 24 hours) if you are not going to respond or be nice to potential clients.
