Amy made my wedding day perfect and money efficient! My bridesmaids and I stopped by Amy to get our dress altered. I was worried about the price for pressing the dresses afterwards. My instincts led me to calling several dry cleaners to ask for a free quote, all of them were priced over $100! This was way OVER my budget and I didnt know what to do. I decided to pick up the dresses before settling on a place to press the dresses. To my surprise, the dresses were already pressed and ready to wear! This saved me loads of money along with the dresses fitted perfectly. I asked Amy if this was a surprise for me, she told me free pressing was included in all of her services. I was dazed by her amazing service! Thank you Amy for making my wedding day perfect, and helping me save a bunch of money on pressing!

Exceeded my expectations. Great service. Great price. Had four pairs of jeans to shorten and hem . Was told would take about an hour and sure enough they were. Great job and very friendly.

Unfortunately my overall experience here was absolutely terrible. I gave 2 stars only due to the fact that she is a sweet lady who’s very quick and affordable but the alterations were not as discussed and extremely sloppy so quick and affordable just doesn’t cut it. I had a wedding dress with beaded straps. The straps needed to be slightly taken in as well as a few other alterations on the dress. She removed some of the beads on the straps to take it in and did not replace the beads. There was a completely visible 2 inch gap on both straps that had no beads whatsoever and huge RED marks on the straps where the beads were missing that she marked while cutting. I asked about the missing beads and she said there were no more left to add back on. If she took the beads off to cut, shorten, and re sow the straps, she should have been able to put them back on instead of leaving a huge gap. Honestly, my wedding dress was completely ruined by Lewisville Alterations and I have regretted using their services every day since.ETA: Response from owner is inaccurate in too many ways to list.Also, my late review was due to the fact that, as stated above, she’s a sweet lady and I chose not to review at first until receiving my wedding photos a month later and having the issue haunt me once again. It’s hard to believe putting the beads back on the dress instead of in the trash wasn’t a common sense decision for someone in this profession. By the time I tried it on again there was “nothing that could be done.” I would never want someone else to experience this so I felt I should review even if a month later.

I took 2 pairs of pants that Ive been meaning to get hemmed for 3 or 4 years to Alterations Of Lewisville based on the good reviews this place got. I have to say that all the reviews were right. I took 2 pairs of dress pants with cuffs in to be hemmed. It was $28 and I couldnt imagine someone doing a better job. The location is hidden, but it is very neat and clean inside. I will definitely be going back for all my tailoring needs.

I cant say enough good things about Amy. My dress came in two and a half weeks before my wedding and I was referred to Amy by my bridal shop. I had no idea that the typical time needed for wedding dress alterations is approximately 6-8 weeks, so my case was an emergency. I am incredibly thankful Amy showed me grace and opened up her services to me with it being so last minute. She did a remarkable job tailoring my dress and had it back to me within just a few days! She had to take in the bodice and hips, add bra cups, switch out buttons, and add a bustle. Her work made me feel like my dress was made just for me. She also had so many helpful ideas to make my dress look even better. She is so friendly, full of life, and incredibly talented. I would recommend her to anyone I come across! And with her being a tailor instead of a seamstress, she fully reconstructs the dress from the inside out and assembles it back together just as it came from the designer. You could never tell. I would give 10 stars if I could. Amy does awesome work. I have taken her my husbands pants and shirts for work and she does incredible work on them. She has also replaced a zipper on a jacket for me and shortened sleeves on another jacket for me. So glad we found her. Her prices are reasonable too. I would highly recommend her if you want excellent work done.

Called at 6pm after work to hem 4 pairs of pants. Told them I needed them done same day. They said come in and well take care of you. That they did. They were done in 30 minutes flat and very good quality. It was like Magic. Highly recommended.

I bought a suit for $60 at Burlington Coat Factory and took it here to get it tailored. She worked magic on that thing and I constantly get compliments on the cut. After a year of regular use, I took the suit pants in to have them sewn up, and she made me forget where the hole even was. Good as new! I have been coming here for years and that one in a life time event came. I needed my wedding gown completely reconstructed. The work needed was not terribly complex: I had the gown shortened up and the whole upper bodice taken in, and I had padded cups sewn in as the plunging, sheer laced-lined back made it virtually impossible to wear any kind of bra. Still, the delicate materials required that sensitive and precision touch. Alterations Of Lewisville made the whole experience feel like haute couture. I had Amy alter a Lela Rose wedding gown that retailed for over $5,000 and she did an amazing job. This dress needed to have a LOT of work done - the entire bustle was moved (about 20 ties total!), shoulders adjusted (two layers), hemming of the whole dress, and slimming through the bust, waist, hips, all while maintaining the original intricate design of the dress.Amy not only did a beautiful job, she exceeded my expectations. She was able to get my dress tailored for my wedding in about a month, which is very short notice for wedding dress alterations. Shes insanely knowledgable about how alterations effect how a dress moves, how the fabric should lay, etc. She even explained to me the best way to stand in the dress, how to carry the hem so I dont wrinkle the silk, and personally called a cleaners for me regarding steaming my dress.Appointments were always on time and she gave me her full attention. She always made sure to ask me about my thoughts regarding every detail of my dress alteration and I never felt rushed. I spent around $300 on alterations for my dress, which was well worth it - Amy essentially took my dress apart and put it back together! If you have a high end wedding dress, Amy is the perfect person to to trust with your alterations. Thanks again!

Im very particular (as in to the point that I often find myself annoying) and Amy is totally accommodating of that. The suit and pants I had done came out excellent, ahead of schedule, and Amy even made a good call in disagreeing with me about altering a piece I definitely would have regretted tailoring. She reassured me about the piece being fine as it was and I appreciate that honesty as oppose to people just being sycophants to get business. She also have generous policies on free follow up alterations just in case things are not ideal after wearing them. Very glad I found this spot.

I’ve been going to Alterations Of Lewisville for over 2 years now, and every time she does incredible work! I’ve lost 150 lbs, and she has been able to alter gowns from large plus size, down to regular size without question – where other seamstresses wouldn’t dare try! She works magic with her hands! My wedding dress was no exception! It was a very challenging feat as the whole entire dress is sequenced, and was too large on me, and required all hand-work! She completely blew my expectations out of the water as the work that needed to be done was almost impossible to do without altering the look of the dress entirely. My dress fit me like a glove, and it looked like it was completely made just for me! Amy has more talent than I ever thought possible for a seamstress!

Amy totally saved me on my wedding day! I had gone to a friend of a friend with my wedding dress and it had taken her 3 months to finish. I had asked for illusion sleeves, an illusion back and for the dress to be hemmed and fitted more into the mermaid style. I wish I could upload a picture of the day I tried on my dress. It was at least two sizes too big, she just did a zipper back and earlier had done horrible illusion sleeves so I just asked for some cap sleeves and they just didnt look right at all. My wedding was in 1 1/2 weeks! She told me to just eat more to gain weight. I didnt trust her to fix what she had done so I found Amy. She was appalled at what the previous seamstress had done, the zipper was crooked, she had hemmed it too short and yea, it was two sizes too big! She took photos for me as evidence so I could try to get at least some money back and said she would do whatever she could to fix everything by my wedding. She had me stand in my dress and started taking out the lace at the bottom to fix the hem and found tiny holes the other seamstress had left. It really does matter who you go to, especially for something like your wedding dress!I came in to try it on a few days before the wedding so she would be able to make any minor changes if needed. It was perfect and fit like a glove! She fixed everything and even fitted it more into the mermaid style! She even added in a bustle for me last minute! By the time I came to pick it up and everything was finished I was totally in love and so so happy with it! She saved my dress and I am so thankful to her for doing that for me! I wore my dress on my wedding day and felt beautiful in it, I didnt even want to take it off for the reception and just ended up wearing it all night. This woman is dedicated and loves what she does. I buy Tru-Spec pants for work and I have always rolled up the hem until I found Alterations of Lewisville one day while shopping around. I explained what I needed done and she said no problem. I rolled up the pants on one pair and pinned them where I wanted the hem. My wife took three pairs in and they all fit just fine. Rolled up pants legs dont look too good with boots. Now they look just fine and dont ravel around the bottom. I have several old suits still in good shape but not the shape I am in. I will take one to her and see her magic done, then Ill take the other tow or three. I wanted to loose a little bit after the holidays before I take it in. I expect she will do a great job and I wont have to buy anymore off the rack suits. Ill post another review after I get the suit back. If you have been sitting on the fence needing to have something changed, give her a try I doubt that you will be disappointed.
