My repair of my Pioneer SX 626 receiver from Mort’s works great. I appreciate their expertise in diagnosing and repairing this 1974 classic. Thanks Mort’s. Great job!
Easy to work with. Traveled 45 minutes each way and worth’m the drive. Repaired vintage dual tape deck. Reasonable pricing.
Dropped off a vintage receiver and turntable to be refurbished and repaired. Both pieces work good as new and look beautiful. Neil took the time to walk me through the fixes and answer questions, very helpful and courteous. Would recommended Mort’s to anyone.
A nice store and equipment looks in good condition but prices are a bit high for me to consider any of it. Im sure Im not the target demographic for it but Id think if theyre charging such high prices that you wouldnt feel like you have to worry about tripping over all the TVs that are scattered across the center of the floorBut if you want some vintage equipment, theres not really much anything better around here... so I guess theres that.
Michael and Neil from Morts are the best audio repair shop around. Highly recommend!
If you have a piece of equipment thats worth repairing, this is the place to go. Morts is a gold mine full of vintage audio equipment. Great experience, nice folks. Thanks!
Threw people of Audio nolage needed to get my vintage stereo help. Directed me to Morts TV &Video Inc. Repair. They serviced my kyocera, CD player also Kyocera cassette player Both High End. Neil did a fantastic job on them Very Nolageable and Professional. I would highly recommend this Repair shop &service Dave C Thank-you Neil👍
I brought in a complete mid-70s vintage system and it was returned sounding better than new. There were some challenges in getting the speakers in working order but they kept me informed at every step. Definitely still providing good old fashioned customer service and excellent quality work.
I believe Neal is the owner but dont hold me to that . He was so helpful with locating a record player Needle for and old Zenith player I have, he even went as far as to locate it on eBay.
Bought a very nice vintage Pioneer receiver. Friendly owners hooked it up and showed it working, gave good advice. Non-pretentious, high-quality place.
Great local place for anything audio or video. I mean anything. Check here before you go to ebay!
They were VERY helpful and fixed my turntable for a fantastic price
Horrible place to go very unprofessional people its a rip-off to me if you ask me I would not prefer this for anyone
I trust nobody else but Neil to fix my 1980s component stereos
Super cool people. Friendly, and happy to help.An invaluable resource for the electronically inept. Will be back for sure!
Great people, you can trust them with your treasures. Especially Neil!
Went in to ask for a part for a tv about two years ago. The man behind the counter was very rude, proceeded to tell me he will not go through the dozens of tvs he has for parts to look for my specific part, he was yelling at that point. I was forced to get out, i would never give my business to this place and I suggest no one else does. Zero stars!!
I bought an older dvd/cd player that was supposed to be refurbished at Morts and the hdmi out doesnt work, plus the remote doesnt work properly. BEWARE!
Great Experience with Mike.
Great place to fix, sell, buy electronics. Very nice people!
Good serv
Great customer service and satisfaction
Neil did an amazing job fixing our laptops power input. He had it done in a few days and the price for the repair was extremely fair considering it was a little more involved than usual. I would definitely recommend them for repairs.
Ive never gone inside but I pass by it all the time
Brought in my LG 4k 65 inch tv in for repair. I told them I thought it was the power supply board but would like a professional opinion so I got it diagnosed. The technician believed it was the main board and quoted $400 for the repair. I declined the service. I eventually looked online for preowned main boards as well as a power supply board because I was adamant it was the power supply because it was making a pop in that area. So replaced the main board...same issue. Then replaced the old power supply board it magically turned on without a hiccup. A simple voltage test on the power supply board would have indicated a bad power supply board. WILL NOT BE RETURNING AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANY OF MY COLLEUGES. THANK YOU.
Talked to Neil at Morts about a Cambridge Soundworks radio that suffered a power surge. I was surprised that they were able to repair it, and at a reasonable price too.
Great service!
Will repair most vintage gear, wait times are reasonable and the stand by thier work.
Neil and Mike at Morts TV have my record changer working like new again! I brought them a GE record changer out of a console, and they repaired it to near brand new condition. Record changers are so hard to find so I am extremely grateful that they got this back in action. Thank you so much!!
At the very least a 7 day DOA warranty would befair for the following reasons.. First, Morts TV as the seller of the TV part on eBay is accepting the role of the technician in properly diagnosing and making sure the part he is selling is operational. We as buyers do not know his qualifications as such. Secondly, we doubt very highly that every part he sells comes from a TV that had a broken or defective screen/panel.
Excellent service
Got a microwave fixed under warranty. No complaints.
Great company and extremely knowledgable people. Such a pleasure dealing with this company and very reasonable prices.
I went in to get my old receiver fixed. They were upfront and honest on how long it would take. It was 4 weeks until they could look at it, then they called and said how much it would be. He gave me two price points, basic repair and cleaning, and refurbishing. I said went with it just working. He fixed it and I payed exactly what he said, $170 plus tax. It was ready the next day. And there is a 90 warranty on the parts.
Brought a 2008 Sony TV in for repair of a bad board. They charged $50 to diagnose, put towards the total repair. Final bill came to only $300, a great bargain compared to the cost of a new TV. Nice people, great service, and a 90-day warranty on the work. Highly recommended!
Neil is the one to see for your vintage (and newer) repairs. Theyve been doing this since the 50s and the store is huge and stocked with just about any type of A/V electronics for sale that you could imagine from stereos to flatscreens. Very few places like this left anymore.
Very helpful and kept me informed of what was wrong with my TV
(this is an updated review, from 3 to 5 stars) The service was fine, the price was very reasonable, and the staff was quite courteous. Would definitely use again...but I hope I wont have to.>original review->[THEY ARE OPEN. Im not rating them just yet. I just wanted to clarify that they are open for business; they are fixing my tv right now. I will update the rating value once I receive the tv and bill. They have been around forever, are very friendly, and will take the time to answer your questions.]
Sold me a tv about 2 months ago told me not to mess with any picture settingd come to find out the screen vibrates but if you turn the tv setting all the way down it stops for a moment very upset about this as we have always had good tvs from him until now
Great place, expert service in long time family establishment. Good deals on vintage components as well.
Very friendly and helpful. Mike was my repair tech and he was great he explained everything he was doing to my tv and what to expect after he was done. I would definitely recommend Morts to anyone
Pricy, but well done. Rear to find repear shop. Excellent with vintage devices. Not too many left around.
Have a Pioneer vintage receiver SX1250 it was a Wreck after another shop Butcher it up took it to Morts its like it 1977 again it looks Brand new and Sounds GREAT!!!!!!
Great service. Got a great deal!
Morts repaired a Vintage Nakamichi PA-7 amplifier for me, This is an extremely complicated Stasis amp that no one else in the area would touch. It was either ship it to the west coast or give it to Morts. The amp is working great now and I have Morts to thank for that. I will be taking my Denon DP-80 turntable to them for repairs. This is a super rare audiophile direct drive TT that I purchased new almost 50 years ago. This will also be a major challenge for them.
Awesome they are the best at fixing TVs plus they will come to your home to fix or pick up your TV for repair 💚
Vintage audio and good repair 👌👍
My husband and I needed a tv. Rhe place prior to going to them gave us ridiculous price for a low end tv. Thank god they were the second opinion. They saved the time and day Very knowledgeable and up front. Thanks again
Had my 1979 PIONEER SX-850 repaired, was going into protection. Parts replaced: 4 caps and 4 transistors--$5 in parts. Bill was an astounding $265! Over the high end of the estimate ($150-250)for a receiver worth $400 on ebay in MINT! I wont be back. Dishonest ripoff artists. Its a shame, Im in the market for a TV.
Good service,friendly, good prices 😁
One of the last true electronic repair service in the tri state area. These guys are still doing full component parts troubleshooting and repairs.
Great local business ❤️
Morts fixed my vintage (early 1980s) Yamaha amp. It was a difficult repair, but they found parts from alternate sources and got me operational. Heres to another 30 years with my amp!
